- I had this old Hilux sitting around for about 12 years or so and the paint is just terrible. All cracked and just looking pretty bad. Thought I would give it a quick repaint from Orange to Blue. Follow along as we give this one a fresh new look.

I recently did this exact same thing but with a different kit and man is it an uplifting experience! Bravo!
It really does look a lot better on my shelf now. haha.
Quite the transformation. Nicely done.
Thank you very much.
I built this same kit for my tattoo artist as a total East LA style lowrider. Fun little kit, love how the suspension works.
It has some very fun features and I love how it all tucks nicely and low. Hope youar tatto artist enjoys the model as much as I do!
Nice work. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much.
Beautiful restoration of a very neat litle truck!
Thanks so much.
Great work! 👍
Thank you very much.
Spencer one Hell of a restorations brother and great color change ❤
Thanks mate, it really was a way for me to test a few things but I figure why not make a video at the same time! haha.
This was a 4WD model (at the time of 1991 made by LINDENBURG), sadly a 1/24 1/25th scale model of the 2WD HILUX was not available to US customers for a long time.
It does seem Toyota got the short end of the stick for Domestic kits. Datsun 620, Chev Luv, Ford Courier, all got great kits but yeah I recall the Lindenburg one but never had any desire to build it. I am glad Aoshima has released this one several time and I fully plan on building another one at some point in the future!
What do you use to remove paint from plastic models?
In this video I used Purple Power to try it out. Worked OK on the paint but didn't effect the primer that much. I have used Oven Cleaner and Brake Cleaner in the past with good results.
