Would ve been great if they had introduced Cad in the 2nd episode, shoot, the series would ve been great if there were only a Boba vs Cad storyline, that way it would ve shown the change in Boba´s character against Cad´s remaining the same til his end. Hopefully Mr Bane will return. I did enjoy the show but I felt they used Boba´s story as a pre-Mando 3 season. Plus an important issue to me was that neither Mando nor Luke were really worried about Grogu falling under the empire´s hands in order to be used for experiments or cloning, knowing what happened previously but maybe this will be shown in Mando 3rd season.
Wow, I never thought about that before, but that is right Mando nor Luke ever mentioned or expressed concern of Grogu falling under The Empire's control. That was a very good point and is yet another reason I have now than I had before for why I do not like the reason Ahsoka gave Mando for not training Grogu. But, I also like the idea of having this show focus more on Cad vs. Boba. The show could've really had some great tension and dialogue between those 2 and I think I would've even preferred flashbacks of Bane & Boba together than the Tusken Raiders, setting up an even more emotional feud between them. I saw someone else mention in 1 of their own reactions for a previous episode that the 1st 4 episodes probably could've been condensed into 2 episodes and I completely agree. Even though episode 2 is in my top 3 favorite episodes, I do think they could've condensed 4 episodes into 2. Then, Mando and Bane could've also been introduced much sooner and the tense buildup toward the war started much sooner as well.
Remember that everything happens for a reason, to make ready for the next season, in this case the Mandalorian season 3 and 2ndly the Ahsoka spin-off, so Luke, Grogu and the Mandalorian got way more screen-time here than most people were expecting, because it was needed for Grogu to first get some training and then also make his choice. Cad has no "history" with the Mandalorian and most likely wont fit in the story they are trying to tell, and we pretty much already know that Grand Admiral Thrawn, and his fellow villains they are casting, will probably take up most if not all of the focus in the Ahsoka spin-off, so that there would be no need or room for Cad there either.
@@agffans5725 That's right, but I think Cad may have room in the Kenobi series, not sure in the Ahsoka series since we do not know how will develop so we'll see.
Yep. And is it me or are most of the ppl left for dead in this show not really dead? Boba, Fennec, Cobb....yeah he's not dead. I'm going to quit picking everything apart & just let them tell their story. And I'll enjoy every moment.
To be fair, Cad Bane was like 70 years old, which for his species was past old.. it was venerable.. so he was going to go sooner or later. Probably best boba did it lol, considering their history.
Agreed. Also, there was a beeping red light on Bane’s suit. maybe it signals his droid to rescue him? Boba Fett died in the Sarlac pit. Only to live. 💁🏻♂️
Right would she rather he die Alone shaking in a bed withering away or in a Fight doing what he does best to the end? He Died a Warrior death respect that if he actually is dead.
I always knew the Gamorreans would die when pigs fly. But seriously, it's a testament to the show that they made us care about the deaths of 2 secondary characters who had exactly 0 spoken lines.
That last shot of Cad puts heavy emphasis on the beeping, blinking light on his chest-harness... Even if he is truly dead, there's still DECADES of history for him to show up in other shows. But as far as The Book Of Boba Fett? I'm glad Boba was the one to kill him. Cad represented EVERYTHING Boba was trying to NOT be, to get away from. Cad's final words were "I always knew you were a killer" clearly trying to get at Boba, knowing he no longer wanted to be that kind of person.
Touche, but they could've written in a way that felt more complete and full-filling for Boba & Cad Bane, because this felt very unearned on Boba's end, given that Cad Bane only appeared in the previous episode. There was little to no weight or build up for it, especially since most of their backstory we have to base on an unfinished reel of TCW. Also, seems weird to me that Cad Bane was trying to convince Boba in their fight that Boba would "always be a cold blooded killer", and then Boba saying he's not that person anymore to Boba killing Bane? Weird. Kinda defeats the point, I think.
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast I think it was an earned death because the pikes were beat and he could have walked away. Instead he choose to go have a showdown with Boba. Lots of history with those two but he could have walked. Also never know seems like lots of mods already in the show why not one more.
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast But in the previous episode Cad was a total jerk. That is all the buildup that is needed. Maybe the writers did it this way to make sure he and Boba never meet up again or at least on this show if he is alive.
Cad can’t be done don’t worry the blinking beeping light was zoomed on that can’t be for no reason! Besides if they were to kill off cad they would have to put it through Dave filoni first and he would never let his character go like that. I will be surprised if he is dead.
In my head canon, Cad Bane reboots on a trash heap in Mos Espa , dons his wide-brim hat handed to him by his droid and walks menacingly across the desert to his ship on Mos Eisley while taking a moment to strangle a womprat that wandered to close.
It's a great episode. Grogu's return for Mando is almost like ESB in how Luke went to Bespin to save his friends, whereas Grogu saved Din by calming the Rancor's temper. Has the same Animal Bond ability as Ezra. Hopefully, Din will convince Grogu to continue training with Luke. He just wanted to see if the little fella is alright and not to take him away. What's the point with the whole plot on finding Gorgu a Jedi teacher in The Mandalorian season 1-2 now? It would be a good opportunity to have Luke training Din on how to wield the Darksaber properly before he goes off to the mines of Mandalore. Give us that Kanan and Sabine moment from Rebels. I'm also heartbroken how they killed off Cad Bane so quickly in this series. He was only in two episodes and his character was executed poorly, then again we asked ourselves, "no one can live forever." However, what's up with the beeping light on his chest? Where is Todo 360? I still don't get the whole point with the Pyke Syndicate wanting to take over Tatooine for the spice trade? We didn't get a thorough explanation of their purpose in this series. I do hope we'll get season 2, but is there a reason to have another season? I just don't see that ever happening. Overall, I'll give this episode a 8.9/10, but the whole series itself is a 7.5/10. Also always be honest in your review and how you feel, hence a critique. It's good to give an insight of your pros and cons.
We know Cobb Vanth is alive and will have some bionics replacing the damage that Cad Bane did. We can also conclude with a high level of confidence that Cad Bane isn't dead since they made the effort to add that "ping" after the end of the duel (which would make no sense at all if they really killed him off). Besides, they know how many fans Cad Bane have and wouldn't get rid of him that easily. My guess is that we'll see most if not all the major characters (Krssantan, Cobb Vanth, Cad Bane, Boba Fett & Fennec Shand) that were introduced in TBoBF in The Mandalorian S3+ and other upcoming Star Wars shows. They are opening up the Star Wars universe where the characters are part of a bigger continuum and can be used in any other show that takes place in the same time period.
Seeing as how we've gotten a casting for Sabine, I'm really hoping that Darksaber training moment will come from Sabine herself. Would be some fantastic character progression, moving on to be the teacher to another Mandalorian.
@@averykoch4553 You may be right. However, I think Sabine is earmarked for Ahsoka's show in 2023. She may show up in The Mandalorian as well, esp. since there will be a crossover in Ahsoka's show as well (from what I remember after reading an interview).
I'm in my 50s, I remember the dark times, decades with nothing but books and comics. We got live action Card Bane and Ahsoka talking to Luke. Be thankful, sit back and have fun.
You kept asking why Boba Fett didn't leave. As you get older, your priorities change. He went through a life changing experience with the Tuskens. He saw and felt what could be accomplished when everyone works together after looking out for himself his entire adult life. I think he finally "grew up".
Cad's monitor was flashing, most likely sending a distress signal to Todo. They're very much giving him a chance to come back in the future. My fingers are crossed!
Great video! But doesn't the light flashing on Cad's chest suggest he could survive? I mean he has the mechanical breather, so even if Boba punctured his lungs he could survive. The stab didn't look like it hit the heart either, and the same flashing light on the back part of his breathing mechanism was kind of suspiciously focused on earlier in the episode.
Hello there...just so you know don't be UPSET Cad Bane will not die watch again. Look at Cads chest the red light is blinking, That is a signal sent to his side lick medical robot who will revive him. Do your research and you will see. They will not make the same mistake as GL did with Darth Maul killing him.
I love your reaction when Cat „died“ because they were exactly like mine. ❤️ I think he is not dead. Why else would they show us that beeping device on his chest?! 🤞
Why would they wasting such a great character? I was literally in shock when Boba stabbed him. That's it? Are you kidding me? 😱 I mean, most people out there don't even know what a great character he is because they didn't watch TCW or TBB.. 😢
i think hell be back in season 2 if there is one. what would they add that outstanding, obvious blinking for then? todo is on his way to flick him back together, just like he did when cad survived his headshot. imagine episode 1 of season 2, a shot of his hat laying on the ground, audible steps in the sand can be heard approaching, a blue hand picks up the hat and title card. idk
You were so busy reacting to Cad Bane dying without acknowledging the red light that was flashing and not stopped on Cad Bane's chest plate. He may be recoverable, and if he is, then he'll be out for blood making him even more of a power-villian.
LOL, tbh I tend to care more about characters than flashy effects. The Rancor was cool but I think I would've been more excited about it if there was a buildup to that.
They needed to make Cad Bane more of a menace like injuring Mando or killing BC he needed to show how deadly he was there was all this build for no pay off. Especially for all the people that never watched the clone wars and have 0 clue who he is
Like others here I also believe Cad Bane isn't dead. That lingering shot of the small light on his chest WITH the sound of it is there for a reason. I also suspect Boba doesn't believe he's dead either. Bane taught Boba quite a few harsh lessons and this is Boba's for Bane. Bane will be back but he'll be a bit more wary of Boba.
Yeah, I hope you guys are right. That shot feels intentional and I really hope that's the case. Also great point too on the whole, "Boba's lesson for Bane." The other thought I had as well is, If Boba is really trying to break away from being a "cold blooded character" into someone more "soft", than why would he kill Bane? Bane was trying to convince him in that scene that he would always be a "cold blooded killer just like his father", so if Boba really did kill him wouldn't that just prove Bane's point? Idk. That felt weird.
actually was exactly what i thought. Is cool to see Bane in live action, but he is old now, in this time line. It was a good oportunity to get him a decent ending.I mean, being killed by the most iconic bounty hunter of all time. Maybe Bane could have joined earlier and all ...
cad bane isnt dead..They literally pan back to him laying on the ground and you hear the beeping my guess his droid Toto gets called in To come help out... Toto is played by Seth Green in the animated series Solid 8.5 out of 10 for the whole series..It definitely had the best episode out of the whole live action Star Wars Last week was ... Always remember ca bane always has a back up plan...It's on purpose because they need some type of thing to talk about as a season finale
I have to disagree about Cad Bane , this is the finale to a story arc that started when Boba was 10. I do admit you need to have watched Clone Wars and Rebels to get it but this is a great end and like the final nail Boba needed to put in his past to get over it. Cad was 71 , very old for a Duros. I always expected him to die fighting, not in his bed of old age. I can understand wanting more of Bane in live action and there is still plenty of chance with The Kenobi series and a couple of others that go a little further back in the timeline. I have to say I enjoyed every episode for what they were , some were story building and I liked the lore and story as well as the action.
The plot armor in this episode was fucking huge, they killed like hundreds of pykes and those 2 droids, only lost like 4 unnamed characters lmao, the "bad guys" either hit the armor or miss every single shot.
I wonder if we might get a live action version of the earlier showdown between Bane and young Boba. I think that could deepen the thinness of his appearance here.
Reasons I like the Mod gang in episodes 3 and 7. 1. I like things that are unusual for Star Wars. It never had time travel before until towards the end of Rebels season 4 with the "World between worlds" Some could say that it feels out of place for Star wars. I loved it and the mods for being something different.. 2. I Really like Drash, the one with the red droid arm played by Sophie Thatcher. Not only do I think she is cute, she reminds me of a friend . I like how she uses her knife, how she drives her scooter, how she is determined to accomplish what ever it is that she wants to. She is a bad ass and she also reminds my of Jyn Erso from Rogue One. 3. I think that young people as a group has never been explored or represented in Star Wars before besides Younglings and I think it is about time they are. 4. Having the Mods in the show, allows the viewer to see things from a different perspective. we didn't know that there were not job opportunities. We need to see all different types of people on Tattoine, not just moisture farmers, gangsters, crime boss's, Jawa's, Sand people, business owners, Twi'lek slaves and musicians. Why can't we have teenagers or people in their 20's? Star Wars is for everyone, not just small children and men in their 40'sand 50's. 5. I like that the mods are cybernetically enhanced. I recently watched Alita Battle Angel and wished that they could some how do something like that in Star Wars and in Boba Fett episodes 3 and 7, they did! Droids parts on Humans is not new for Star Wars. Besides Fennec Shand and the mods, other Star Wars characters that were cybernetically enhanced are: Anikin Skywalker/Darth Vader Darth Maul in the Clone Wars Echo from Clone Wars/Bad Batch General Grievous Lobot-Lando's aid from Cloud City Luke Skywalker Savage Opress- Darth Maul's brother in the Clone wars Saw Gerrera in Rogue One ================================================
I see them as small town (on a galactic scale) youngsters wishing they were far away from there and living on Coruscant - and trying to look and dress like they were. Seen lots of that kind where I come from. I did like Drash's fangirl moment over Fennec. :)
"Well, if that isn't the Quacta calling the Stifling 'slimy'..." translates to, "Well, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle 'black'..." In other words, "Look who's talking."
I'm pretty sure Cad's still alive... You can hear a sort of ticking sound coming from his body-mod equipment, which I believe is indicative of some sort of "life support" system. Besides, I highly doubt that they would so quickly kill off a character who was created by George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and Henry Gilroy.
They lingered so much on Cad Bane's light remaining on *and* the audible beep makes me think that he isn't dead. He has so much life supporting systems that he will be back... But it was an underwhelming way to go. I agree that it didn't feel earned.
Yup, I keep seeing that. I hope you guys are right. It seems weird that Cad would die like that because he's a dude that takes precautions in battle to make sure he stays alive (like his breathing tubes to prevent force choking). Crossing fingers he's not dead and we get a better story arc for him. Boba did not earn that right because we weren't shown the story. :/ There was no value to it.
Many have criticised Robert Rodriguez for his direction because they didn’t like the way the story went. Please remember Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau wrote the storyline, Robert only gave the actors direction along that story. That being said, BOBF episode 7 did feel a bit rushed like the end of Star Wars Episode III in trying to tie up all the storylines ready for a clean start of Mando Season 3. It might have been more sensible to split this and have an episode 8 ?
I have a Theory about Cad and BK. Disney paid to make the costumes, and between Andor, Ahsoka and Kenobi coming, we have LOTS of time periods they can be in, and they already have the outfits.
FYI, "Gunned down in cold blood" doesn't mean that the victim gunned down is dead or that it means "killing somebody." The "cold blood" part of that statement refers to the shooter, who in a ruthless and unfeeling manner has shot someone. Meaning, they weren't heated or over-emotional about shooting and were totally chill and did it in a calculated, deliberate manner.
I understand the attachment to Cad Bane but knowing the history between the two it feels like this duel was the closure of it (although I'm fairly certain he's not dead). If you listen closely when the camera pans over him after the duel you can hear the "pings" calling his droid to pull him out and we know he's got a life support system. I am fairly certain they didn't kill off the baddest bounty hunter in the Star Wars universe. As for Cobb Vanth, I "knew" that he was clipped in the shoulder and wasn't dead but wouldn't be part of the final fight due to the serious injury Cad Bane made. Overall there were a lot of awesome scenes: mando and boba finally fighting together again like in Mandalorian S02E05, Boba riding the Rancor which is what most of us dreamed of, Krssantan being a real badass, the reunion of Grogu and "Daddy" and finding out what Grogu chose (well, it was inevitable from all the signs and hints of the two previous episodes). They had a chance to get rid of the silly mods with their stupid scooters very early in the episode but they didn't take it. This episode did feel very rushed and I think I know the reason: After the first four episodes something major happened with the production. Someone (most likely Filoni and/or some executive producer calling him in to save the show) stepped in after seeing that the way they handled Boba as a character and finding that the present story with the Pykes wasn't right/good enough. Scrambling to rescue the show from mediocrity and the audience going ballistic over how Favreau nerfed Boba into a sentimental old man led to episode 5 and 6 being scratched and Filoni had to "donate" the first two episodes of The Mandalorian S3 to fill in the space while they worked overtime to rewrite and complete the finale, lifting some material from the cancelled TBoBF episodes 5 & 6 scripts into episode 7 as well as taking the Din & Grogu reunion from Mando S03E02 and putting it into the Boba finale. After all, episodes 5 and 6 were all about setting up Din's adventure (redemption on Mandalore, the continuing story of the Dark Saber etc.) and reunion with Grogu while NOTHING of that had anything to do with the Boba Fett storyline. I'm 99% certain that the general essence of my conclusion is close to the truth; something really serious happened internally that led to cancelling the existing Boba episode 5 and 6, sacrificing the first two episodes of the upcoming Mando season which is a shame. After Rangers of the New Republic was cancelled it was reported that some of the material in that show would be merged with The Mandalorian. At least they managed to redeem Boba as a badass to some extent. This is the Boba Fett that we wanted from the very first episode of TBoBF. I basically don't care for the Boba vs the Pykes storyline and how Favreau treated him like a sweet old uncle. We got what we wanted in the flashbacks - we followed him from the moment he climbed out from the sarlacc pit to the point where he found Fennec and took revenge on the biker gang who he believed had wiped out his tribe. That's where it connects to his appearance in The Mandalorian and he was still a badass survivor in those flashbacks. It's almost like the flashbacks and the crime lord storylines were written by different people. This show was announced as a 7 episode limited show and I doubt there will be a second season of TBoBF, esp. after the first four episodes which clearly didn't reach the level of quality that everyone expected. I hope you rewatch this episode later, knowing that neither Cobb Vanth nor Cad Bane died, so you can enjoy the really cool scenes that were in this as well as notice how they made Boba more of a badass in this episode.
For me it's not the attachment so much to Cad Bane, but more on the fact that they wasted his story potential. They brought him in the prior episode only to have him meet his demise in the finale? It's a waste of the character and it could've been written better, IMO.
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast Oh, absolutely. The writing for the finale was most likely very stressed, hence some of the writing and decisions were pretty subpar. They had to squeeze in the Mando+Grogu story as well as rewrite Boba to some extent.
Cad bane aint dead!!! The camera paned over his body and it shows that red beeping thing on his chest. My theory is it could be calling out to his droid todo 360 to save him.
People really look down on the Pyke syndicate even though they are the major galactic syndicate faction of star wars. Pyke can trade blow with crimson dawn and any other major galactic syndicate.
Luke promised to protect Grogu then sends him across the galaxy alone in an X-wing,and R2 turns him over to a stranger. The writing is a slap in the face to what came before.
Yeah that was a little....bizarre? Doesn't seem like something Luke would do. My guess is that they didn't want to blow the budget for the final episode on his deep-faked face...also I do feel as though Grogu's return undermines the S2 finale of Mando.
Perhaps it’s just wishful thinking but as we saw Cad Bane laying there we hear a beeping sound coming from him which I don’t recall hearing before, perhaps that’s the writers putting a “get out of jail free card”. That they are leaving his fate a little ambiguous so they can either leave him dead or later of a show wants to bring him back they can say that beeping was part of a life support unit that kicks on once his vitals are critical. I mean Cad Bane being such a great bounty hunter would have backup contingency plans if he ever were to fall in battle. Also being assumed dead by a bounty gives you an advantage. So yeah I hope it was the writers allowing themselves an out. As for the show… oof. It’s bad when the best episodes of a show aren’t even about the main character or story. Boba never felt like Boba. They say that his time with the Sand People changed him but he tracked down and fought with Mando in season two of the Mando show AFTER those events and he seemed like a cold calculating killer then yet after brutally killing Bib he just mellows out and becomes a shadow of his former self? Not a fan of the mods, it’s just too on the nose with the way they act and their damn Vespa hover mopeds. They don’t feel like a gang but a rag tag band of misfits who a real gang would beat the shit out of for shits n giggle.
if you watch bad batch with cad bane when he lost to fennic his chest thing started blinking and beeping which signaled his robot and ship. He definately is not dead. im pretty sure thats the only reason they showed the beeping on bad batch. if cad bane comes back alive in season 3 of mando or season 2 of boba would that change your mind a little
Firstly, Cad is 100% alive and this will just help show off the precautions he takes going into a fight. My main concern is whats the reason for bringing Grogu back? Is there an actual well thought out story to tell or did they decide to undo season 2 of mando because they felt season 3 wouldnt be as well received without Grogu. Because honesly, even with those 2 great episodes, Book of Boba fett erased all confidence I had for these story writers. There was just too many elements here that were reminiscent of the sequels
He probably is as his electronics on his chest were still working and they spent some time hovering over him, that being said CAD is over 70 yrs OLD for a race that avg 60...he an Old OLD Man and one way or another hes going to die very soon.
Dave sure knows how to payoff everything that he has set up. Ok so first if there's 1 thing I've learned over the years "it's unwise to upset a Wookie" . I had to catch myself saying "DON'T YOU KILL THAT ________" At numerous points throughout this episode because HO BOY they did A LOT. From BK doing the Wookie being bsdass. To the unexpected teamwork. To the massive respect between Din and Boba. To R2 basically just strolling into Peli's shop like he owns the place(bummed there was no bit where Peli is like "R5 what do you mean you know him?") There is little bad I can say about this episode, or this season as a whole. Where else are you gonna get a Rancor rodeo, Yoda's species taming then napping by a rancor, TTFFB(Thank the Force for Beskar), uber Droidikas, and the end of Bane....who died as he lived........LIKE A BOSS(another missed opportunity to inter cut that fight with the unfinished CW arc where Boba gets the dent, but props to that call back to Boba and Koska Reeve in Mandalorian season 2). I hope we see more from this crew because DANK FERRIK it's just wizard
I see how a well liked character as Bane getting killed off rubbed people the wrong way but being a western movie fan, even the fast gun bad guy I see usually gets whipped by the good guy. Many John Wayne, Audie Murphy, The Death Valley Days, Zane Gray Theatre and The Rebel Series shows showed us that. Thank you for your reactions Mrs.
I think the first couple of episodes showing how Boba survived was, maybe not the best episodes, but at least informative, but I have to agree about Bane, if anything they should have made Boba outdraw him and then let him go to show how far his character has evolved from a stone cold killer to someone who makes a choice about killing.
I have no problem with the kids. in a dull world they're looking for purpose and color. Truly, just let the vision roll. As for Cad, his light beeped on his front panel signaling his robot to come and get him. He lives.
Ah, I see what you're saying. I'm crossing fingers he makes a return with that beeping on his chest. That feels sort of intentional, but I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Feels wrong to have Cad Bane have an epic entrance only to be killed in the next episode.
and once again I don't think Bane is dead. They lingered on that bleeping red dot on his chest for a reason and I think that reason was to tell us he's still alive. Why they wouldn't do a "now he's gone" Michael Myers shot instead is beyond me...the writing and directing for this episode wasn't the best and wasn't nearly as good as it should be with so many damn plot holes. But Yeah, much like Vanth I think Bane is alive.
My opinion is completely different than yours about Cad Bane’s fall. He has had a storyline in the Clone Wars and the Bad Batch. It was speculated that he would’ve been killed off in the Clone Wars had Filoni been given the chance so what better way to go? In live action by the character who was meant to do it. Would you prefer them to have it out when they both are reaching 80 90 years old? Old people fighting is not cool. Also, there’s plenty of Star Wars to come where he would fit in just fine.
My issue with his death is not the death itself, but rather is that it had little to no value to the story. Most of Boba Fett and Cad Bane's history has to do with an unfinished reel from TCW. They had an opportunity to delve into it more here but they opted not to which is really frustrating. It felt like Cad Bane came in the prior episode only to be killed by Boba just to make him look cooler.
Watching you was probably the closest to my reaction I've seen of this episode so far! I was also upset that the rancor was going wild and where the hell is boba fett the whole time. Some good moments.. too many bad ones that tip the scale. Wrapped up too quick.
I feel like the two episodes we spent away from Boba really hurt this finale. The narrative of this show overall felt very clunky and thats why I think a lot of people feel the finale was lackluster (including myself). None of the payoffs felt earned or worked for. I just feel like there was no weight to this finale. Glad you could relate!
IMDb hasn't closed off the series, so I expect a second season with Crimson Dawn, and then we might see a return of Cade Bane. You might be pissed about his "unearned" downfall (I kinda disagree) but you gotta admit was fitting that Boba took him down with his gaffy stick, to contrast solo vs. tribe / family. The same way the reunion of Din and Grogu did, and Boba and Din saving Krrsantan. And I also expect all the various shows to climax with an Avengers style get-together against Grand Admiral Thrawn and/or Moff Gideon. There are rumors of a movie with this final big showdown.
At least Cad "died with his boots on." If he'd been younger, he would have likely won that fight. I'm glad he didn't die in a lame fashion, such as getting bonked in the ol' jet pack and flying off into a sarlac pit somewhere.
20:16 They did the same thing with Thrawn in Rebels.... Cool Competent character in books made to look like a fool every week by teenage Ezra and his scoobygang. Its Filoni's M.O. No need to be surprised he did the same with Bane in this or atleast allowed it to happen.
I did really wanna see cad and ahsoka talk about stuff that happened in clone wars , even though they’re enemies he had a lot to Do do with her growth as a Jedi , her anakin and obi all interacted a lot , so would be cool to see him talk bout them as anakin has changed and obi is now dead… I wonder if she knows
I literally checked the channel and didn’t see the video, then came back 5 mins later and saw this😂 a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. This channel is so cute, I’m invested. Here’s my thoughts: 1) Beskar Bros fighting back to back was absolutely legendary. Din is a top tier character every time he shows up. For honor, baby… 2) I actually love that Boba defeated Cad Bane as a Tusken, not a bounty hunter. Boba is saying goodbye to his old way of life in that moment. Plus, he can still show up in other things before this, don’t be too upset yet. Just because he dies here doesn’t mean he never shows up again. 3) Never sick of hearing you talk, probably one of the better parts of these videos😂 4) Luke really called Grogu an Uber, I’m weak 5) “I have a hard time feeling bad for any of these characters.” Cringes when Din of all people gets shot 5 seconds later😂
I think that as fans we need to stop projecting our high expectations onto these shows and movies and...maybe not just go with whatever they give us, because that doesn't help either...maybe modify our expectations knowing that not every show is going to hit it out of the park the way The Mandalorian did or that the animated shows continue to do after more than a decade of them. I'm not a fan of Boba Fett as a character, so I went into this show being very skeptical about it, because I didn't, and still don't, think Fett even had a story that was REALLY necessary to tell. In fact in my review of this show, and I don't think it's supposed to get a second season, The Book of Boba Fett was unnecessary and served as a bridge because otherwise it would be May before we got the next live action Star Wars series since Mando season 3 isn't due to come out until later in the year, and we don't have Bad Batch season 2 until later either, so that's almost a year without any new Star Wars content since season 1 of Bad Batch dropped. Meanwhile Marvel is pumping out five shows a year, which can be a little bit too much when there's so much to watch overall.
All the shows in this era that aren't Mandalorian are 100% just shows to further the plot of side characters involved in the overarching plot of Mandalorian. I don't think this was ever meant to be a stand alone show. Just a spin off that continued the narrative of some beloved characters.
@@TheLoreSeeker From what I understand, Favreau planned it out so that The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Ahsoka would be interconnected, which is why they're all set around the same time period. And it's really not doing anything that The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Bad Batch haven't been doing for the last 13 years under Filoni's leadership. I mean Darth Maul didn't REALLY need to come back from the dead, and Thrawn didn't REALLY need to be brought into Rebels, but they were and it worked because all of the animated shows had long enough seasons to allow the story to breathe. This is really just a case of this show not working out because of how ambitious it was in the storytelling, but being kept to seven episodes rather than getting more of them to have the breathing room to actually tell the story.
@@tgif1345 Personally, I feel like the show works really well. But you're right, its part of a greater interconnected narrative. I think the people who are angry that it gave time for Din to have some screen time or that it didn't keep Bane alive are looking at the picture too narrowly. In the grand scope of the Star Wars narrative, this is a perfectly fine point in time for Bane to die....but people who haven't watched the other Bane related material may not feel the same since they haven't been on the same journey.
nice reaction as always i like this episode Boba is awesome, hope Cad Bane still alive in the end. now i'm excited for The Mandalorian season 3 and Obi-Wan Kenobi
I'm glad you enjoyed my reaction (and the episode!) Crossing my fingers on Cad Bane. I can't wait for Mando & Obi Wan Kenobi, hopefully those will be good!
I wish we had seen Cad sooner in this series. I wish we had seen them teach Boba to ride the Rancor. That said Cad Bane isn't a new character! I mean everybody wants it both ways. Boba's a cold blooded killer, but don't kill the guy that "triggered" him about the death of his tribe. No big deal the Pykes played Boba into killing the Kintan Striders for free, thus eliminating both tollkeepers and protecting their margins. Boba had to try kill Cad because Cad bought up Fett's family, twice! Now I think Cad is still alive because his Droid, Todo, probably has a tracker on him. Plus we'll probably see him in Obi-Wan and maybe even Ahsoka. Black K shot a Pyke in the nuts. The Rancor split the Droid after Fett said , "Do it!", just like Anakin cut up Dooku after Palpatine said, "Do it!" The order in which Fennec took out the leaders was amazing. Great episode! Mando and Boba together 🔥 Rancor and Grogu snuggling 🤯
You realize that no one really dies in th SW universe. Fennec and Cobb were left for dead but are still around so it is my guess that Cad is not dead. There’s always A New Hope. See what I did there? 😂
BoBF definitely has it's issues, but while Cad Bane's usage could've been better it isn't one of them. The man's in his 70s as a species that's considered senile in their 50-60s. Him even showing up was a foregone conclusion, there was NO chance he survived this. As for Fett's rivalry with Bane, he directly says in earlier episodes that he's tired of bounty hunters killing and getting killed needlessly. Cad Bane is the poster child for shoot first, ask questions never.
Cad Bane was a cool bad guy, but Boba is more dope. There are so many interesting baddies in the Star Wars Universe that I didn't mind seeing Bane die. I'm hoping to see Admiral Thrawn sometime down the line; he should be awesome
I don't mind the fact that they killed him, (if he's actually dead), It just felt like his introduction to the show was completely pointless and he was only there so Boba would have someone to kill. It felt like a lot of wasted story potential, especially for the people who kept up with Clone Wars.
Yeah a lot of people have been saying this! I'm hopeful, but cautiously hopeful. It feels wrong to have him go out this way, and with such a cheap effect to the story. Crossing fingers that you're right.
Classic writers trick. If you don't see the body they aren't dead - or - if you do see the body but something is happening on or around it, they aren't dead. RR's hamfisted directing doesn't help getting that across though. Honestly this was such a wasted series, not nearly enough explanation or development around the who, when's or why's any of this is going on... you know, something that could have been shown in the two "Mando" episodes. Loved those episodes, best two of the series, but they didn't belong here.
Of course they'd bring in Bane to kill him. He's so old by this time they're already stretching credibility just by having him in it, and Boba was always meant to kill him eventually. IF there's a season 2 he could have been used more, sure, but we don't know yet if there will be one. I liked their duel - and it was a lot longer than the one between Obi-Wan and Maul. ;) Btw, notice in their first standoff how Bane tries to talk Boba down at first - you better negotiate, your reinforcements aren't coming, etc - but as soon as Fennec steps outside he goes into fight mode, triggers Boba and wants to duel. He's angered at seeing her there, he just doesn't acknowledge it outright.
@@jedimindtricksuk8276 His age is not meaningless. It's been established long before this show that Duros aren't more long-lived than humans; they're considered "elderly" from the age of 70. His life could conceivably be extended in various ways, yes -- but then they'd need to _address_ that in one way or the other and actually establish it, not just have him show up like the last 20 years didn't happen. (And no, he's not the only character with that problem.)
dont freak out..Cad Bane is still alive!!! his respirator was still blinking...also how on Earth were you bored watching a rancor going crazy, killing all those Pykes? For me my dream scenerio would have been the after credits scene show that Qi'ra is the one behind the Pykes....She just showed up in the comics again running Crimson Dawn after Empire Strikes back so she could very well be running things at this point the way Maul did....
I hope you're right about Cad Bane! He deserves a better story. Also I'm so disappointed we didn't get to see a bigger baddie in the end credits scene like Qira! I mean, I am so happy Cobb is okay, but that end credits scene seemed a bit underwhelming.
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast yea I was underwhelmed as well but honestly I think that’s because the two episodes prior we’re completely mind blowing…like if I told you before the season started that the finale would have Boba Fett riding a rancor killing a ton of guys, a shoot out with Cad Bane and Mando and Grogu reuniting…..You would think that would be the most amazing thing you’ve ever seen hahaha…Honestly I don’t think they could’ve done anything after the amount of awesomeness they gave us
Would ve been great if they had introduced Cad in the 2nd episode, shoot, the series would ve been great if there were only a Boba vs Cad storyline, that way it would ve shown the change in Boba´s character against Cad´s remaining the same til his end.
Shit yeah! Boba vs Cad.
Relax, you can still hear his heartbeat in his last scene. He's not dead.
now he is
Half man
Half machine
All Vanth.
RoboCobb
Edit: my bad, I thought you meant the Marshal...
There was no heartbeat. And this franchise has had enough of fake out deaths.
@@Megaproductions302 Jaded much?
Yep. And is it me or are most of the ppl left for dead in this show not really dead? Boba, Fennec, Cobb....yeah he's not dead. I'm going to quit picking everything apart & just let them tell their story. And I'll enjoy every moment.
@@Megaproductions302 tell me you dont know what the blinking light on cad's chest is without telling me.
@@DanSolo871 yeah there’s no way he’s dead, they made his life support suit beep on purpose
Right would she rather he die Alone shaking in a bed withering away or in a Fight doing what he does best to the end? He Died a Warrior death respect that if he actually is dead.
This felt rushed and patched together. Quite a letdown.
Ya. He "died with his boots on."
If Ahsoka ends up becoming a Clone Wars style live action you'll suffer a heart attack.
I don’t think cad babe is dead yet…u can see his heart monitor still blinking
Cad can’t be done don’t worry the blinking beeping light was zoomed on that can’t be for no reason! Besides if they were to kill off cad they would have to put it through Dave filoni first and he would never let his character go like that. I will be surprised if he is dead.
Where's Max Rebo.. Is he safe.. Is he alright
Boba killing blue guy best moment of the show
In my head canon, Cad Bane reboots on a trash heap in Mos Espa , dons his wide-brim hat handed to him by his droid and walks menacingly across the desert to his ship on Mos Eisley while taking a moment to strangle a womprat that wandered to close.
"Your love for Cad, killed Vanth."
I just Google that and here's a good video that shows my point. ua-cam.com/video/3L57rSW4aGY/v-deo.html
I love your reaction when Cat „died“ because they were exactly like mine. ❤️
I think he is not dead. Why else would they show us that beeping device on his chest?! 🤞
* crossing fingers * I hope you're right! It would be such a waste to end his story like that with absolutely no weight to back it up.

Why would they wasting such a great character? I was literally in shock when Boba stabbed him. That's it? Are you kidding me? 😱
I mean, most people out there don't even know what a great character he is because they didn't watch TCW or TBB.. 😢
i think hell be back in season 2 if there is one. what would they add that outstanding, obvious blinking for then? todo is on his way to flick him back together, just like he did when cad survived his headshot. imagine episode 1 of season 2, a shot of his hat laying on the ground, audible steps in the sand can be heard approaching, a blue hand picks up the hat and title card. idk
Remember the “Bad Batch”, Crosshair, the Omega - Fennec - Cad storyline. Might help process a little what they were doing in the Finale here.
You were so busy reacting to Cad Bane dying without acknowledging the red light that was flashing and not stopped on Cad Bane's chest plate. He may be recoverable, and if he is, then he'll be out for blood making him even more of a power-villian.
Boba Fett is riding a freaking rancor and you’re just like “COBB VANTH COBB VANTH WHAT ABOUT COBB VANTH” lol
LOL, tbh I tend to care more about characters than flashy effects. The Rancor was cool but I think I would've been more excited about it if there was a buildup to that.
Melissa is no longer a fan of Star Wars because of her frustration over Cad's supposed death.
They needed to make Cad Bane more of a menace like injuring Mando or killing BC he needed to show how deadly he was there was all this build for no pay off. Especially for all the people that never watched the clone wars and have 0 clue who he is
Cad Bane will be back. The way they did it they could bring him back. And given his popularity it would be dumb not to.
Cad Bane will be in Kenobi series, don't worry.
We already know that Boba is good at riding things.....Holiday Special. xD
Cad bane's heart beat moniter was still beeping so you never know this might be yet another disney fake death
Someone gets it! Hell, Cad should already be on his deathbed, canonically 71 is insanely old for a Duros
Besides Fennec Shand and the mods, other Star Wars characters that were cybernetically enhanced are: Anikin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Darth Maul in the Clone Wars
Echo from Clone Wars/Bad Batch
General Grievous
Lobot-Lando's aid from Cloud City
Luke Skywalker
Savage Opress- Darth Maul's brother in the Clone wars
Saw Gerrera in Rogue One
================================================
I see them as small town (on a galactic scale) youngsters wishing they were far away from there and living on Coruscant - and trying to look and dress like they were. Seen lots of that kind where I come from.
I did like Drash's fangirl moment over Fennec. :)

"Well, if that isn't the pot calling the kettle 'black'..."
In other words, "Look who's talking."

I'm pretty sure Cad's still alive... You can hear a sort of ticking sound coming from his body-mod equipment, which I believe is indicative of some sort of "life support" system. Besides, I highly doubt that they would so quickly kill off a character who was created by George Lucas, Dave Filoni, and Henry Gilroy.
a completely adequate ending for Cad Bane, if he did not die here in an epic way, he would die of an old man off screen
On the upside, since Grogu (Baby Yoda) chose Din, he wasn't at Luke's Jedi Academy when Ben Solo (Kylo Ren) decided to massacre everyone.
I was waiting on this reaction!!!
🙏
I have a Theory about Cad and BK. Disney paid to make the costumes, and between Andor, Ahsoka and Kenobi coming, we have LOTS of time periods they can be in, and they already have the outfits.
Ahh Cad Bane...
(Palpatine laugh)
He was suppose to die in Season Seven of The CW by teenage Boba. Makes more sense bringing him into live action to be killed by Temuera himself
Drash and Skad, kind of a cliche, isn't it?
FYI, "Gunned down in cold blood" doesn't mean that the victim gunned down is dead or that it means "killing somebody." The "cold blood" part of that statement refers to the shooter, who in a ruthless and unfeeling manner has shot someone.
Meaning, they weren't heated or over-emotional about shooting and were totally chill and did it in a calculated, deliberate manner.
Appreciate what you do. Thanks for the awesome content.
And I do think we’ll see more of Cad Bane in the next 2 Star Wars series coming up, especially the Andor series.
@@matthewungar2138 Thanks for checking out the channel! We appreciate it a lot.
They had to squeeze in the Mando+Grogu story as well as rewrite Boba to some extent.
well it's a chainmail shirt, chainmail is just the material, shirt is the whole object
Robert Rodriguez really cheezed this up.
They nerfed the Scorpenek Annihilator Droids so hard bro, this is a crime
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast So did they lie to us with the poster of luke, grogu, and a yellow crystal? I've had that on my wall for months.
He definately is not dead. im pretty sure thats the only reason they showed the beeping on bad batch. if cad bane comes back alive in season 3 of mando or season 2 of boba would that change your mind a little
I pray you're right! Seems like a huge waste of the character to bring him in and then kill him off like that :/
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast dave filoni doesn't usually waist his creations like that
Firstly, Cad is 100% alive and this will just help show off the precautions he takes going into a fight.
He probably is as his electronics on his chest were still working and they spent some time hovering over him, that being said CAD is over 70 yrs OLD for a race that avg 60...he an Old OLD Man and one way or another hes going to die very soon.
ua-cam.com/video/3L57rSW4aGY/v-deo.html
He lives.
Cad Bane isnt dead. You can hear his mod still working. His droid will save him. Relax haha
Hope you're right!
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast Star Wars Theory just posted a video, saying the exact same thing haha!
Cad definitely not dead.
Waited forward to the video!
Awsome reaction👍. Bane isn't dead, his red heart light was still blinking. They will bring him back I think✌
I don't think Cad Bane is dead, his chest red beacon was flashing, I think his little robot went to rescue him
*crosses fingers* He deserves so much better of a story than to go out like that.
I don’t believe cad is dead ! But damn I’m glad it was boba
Time to upload my reaction lol 😂
Rewatch that last Cad Bane scene. Closely.
Ah, I see what you're saying. I'm crossing fingers he makes a return with that beeping on his chest. That feels sort of intentional, but I'm cautiously optimistic about it. Feels wrong to have Cad Bane have an epic entrance only to be killed in the next episode.
@@AnotherStarWarsPodcast Even if that was his end, he could be back in at least three other upcoming SW series.🤞
Thicc Boi Gammorean Summer was over before it started .... I'm a sad puppy.
I don't think Cad Bane is died. I think he had a healing tank that was beeping when they showed up close on him
I'm now picturing how Todo comes flying and pours a bucket of bacta over him...
and once again I don't think Bane is dead.
How did Pele know Mando was on Tatooine? Din was parked at Jabba’s Palace because the X wing landed in an empty hangar.
She was there when Fenic hired him.
@@glenm2214 Did you forget Mando left Tatooine to go visit a little friend?
And that little friend came to Tatooine. obviously she smart enough to figure out Din already returned from that visit...
@@glenm2214 He didn’t tell anyone where he was going. He could have went to Risa for all anyone knows. But I guess that’s fair.
Just further proof how poorly written this show was when the viewers have to assume plot points.
HAHA is he safe is he all right?..like VADER 😆
At least Cad "died with his boots on." If he'd been younger, he would have likely won that fight. I'm glad he didn't die in a lame fashion, such as getting bonked in the ol' jet pack and flying off into a sarlac pit somewhere.
20:16 They did the same thing with Thrawn in Rebels.... Cool Competent character in books made to look like a fool every week by teenage Ezra and his scoobygang. Its Filoni's M.O. No need to be surprised he did the same with Bane in this or atleast allowed it to happen.
Star Wars makes me so happy Cobb alive,Cad Bane is alive look at heart monitor Toto coming to pick him up.
Zuko🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I literally checked the channel and didn’t see the video, then came back 5 mins later and saw this😂 a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
This channel is so cute, I’m invested. Here’s my thoughts:
1) Beskar Bros fighting back to back was absolutely legendary. Din is a top tier character every time he shows up. For honor, baby…
2) I actually love that Boba defeated Cad Bane as a Tusken, not a bounty hunter. Boba is saying goodbye to his old way of life in that moment. Plus, he can still show up in other things before this, don’t be too upset yet. Just because he dies here doesn’t mean he never shows up again.
3) Never sick of hearing you talk, probably one of the better parts of these videos😂
4) Luke really called Grogu an Uber, I’m weak
5) “I have a hard time feeling bad for any of these characters.” Cringes when Din of all people gets shot 5 seconds later😂
In the grand scope of the Star Wars narrative, this is a perfectly fine point in time for Bane to die....but people who haven't watched the other Bane related material may not feel the same since they haven't been on the same journey.
nice reaction as always
i like this episode Boba is awesome, hope Cad Bane still alive in the end.
now i'm excited for The Mandalorian season 3 and Obi-Wan Kenobi
I'm glad you enjoyed my reaction (and the episode!) Crossing my fingers on Cad Bane. I can't wait for Mando & Obi Wan Kenobi, hopefully those will be good!
Watch Cad's 'death' scene again. İs that his heart still beating at the end?
Crossing fingers that it is the case there. That feels way too rushed to be his "death" scene. Needs to be written better IMO.
They will bring Cad back at least in the Bad Batch show and maybe in the Obi Wan Show.
I don't think CAD Bane is death just like I didn't think Vanth is dead too.
The Rancor split the Droid after Fett said , "Do it!", just like Anakin cut up Dooku after Palpatine said, "Do it!"
The order in which Fennec took out the leaders was amazing.
Great episode!
Mando and Boba together 🔥
Rancor and Grogu snuggling 🤯
It's fiction, they can bring back any character for whatever reason.
Cad isn't dead. watch the scene again and pay attention to his suits control panel and the clicking/beeping sound... ain't dead.
I do hope Todo 360 will rescue him.
Wishing upon a star
The chainmail.is a shirt.
Of course they'd bring in Bane to kill him. He's so old by this time they're already stretching credibility just by having him in it, and Boba was always meant to kill him eventually. IF there's a season 2 he could have been used more, sure, but we don't know yet if there will be one. I liked their duel - and it was a lot longer than the one between Obi-Wan and Maul. ;)
Btw, notice in their first standoff how Bane tries to talk Boba down at first - you better negotiate, your reinforcements aren't coming, etc - but as soon as Fennec steps outside he goes into fight mode, triggers Boba and wants to duel. He's angered at seeing her there, he just doesn't acknowledge it outright.
If Cad bane had killed boba, then they would also get angry
