Horses and other animals are being abused and exploited in a variety of forms of “entertainment.” They are sentenced to a lifetime of misery in order to provide a few moments of human amusement. It's not only barbaric, but it's also inhumane! Anybody that attends horse races or any other kind of attraction, sport or event that uses animals, is contributing to the abuse of those beautiful creatures. So, shame on you! Horses and cows used in rodeos are abused with electrical prods, sharp spurs, and “bucking straps” that pinch their sensitive flank area. During bucking events, horses and bulls may suffer broken legs or run into the sides of the arena, causing serious injury and even death. During calf-roping events in rodeos, a calf may reach a running speed of 27 miles per hour before being jerked by the neck to an abrupt stop by a lasso. These types of events have resulted in punctured lungs, internal hemorrhaging, paralysis, and broken necks. Dog racing contributes to cruel measures as well. Once greyhounds begin their racing careers, they are kept in cages for more than 20 hours a day. The cages are made of wire and are barely big enough for the dogs to turn around. Dogs who are considered "too slow" to race are often sold to research facilities or killed. About 20,000 are killed each year; and very few are ever adopted. Even on movie and television sets, animals are used as involuntary “props” to sell products and services and to boost the profits of studios and production companies. In addition to all the problems associated with keeping animals in captivity, animals used in filming have been mistreated, injured, or even killed on set. The use of animals as “entertainers” deprives them of the ability to freely engage in instinctual behaviors; often involves cruel training methods; desensitizes both children and adults to animal mistreatment; and does nothing to benefit the animal. The truth is, heartless people can be very creative in finding ways to make a profit off of using innocent animals. And as an animal lover, I personally believe, this cruelty must be stopped! 😡
@@emmerylespade6848 no you're right because that's the kind of person that Micah is he didn't even like anybody inside the Van Der Linde gang I heard him talking about him what liking Dutch I find that hard to believe

0:48 for those how haven’t seen the movie. This is how he got into a bad accident his foot came out of the stirrup he fell and was trampled by some of the horses. This being a amazing clip cuz he was able to get his foot back in (Jackie is a literally standing on the steps when they’re racing so if you’re racing in your foot slip side of the strip, it’s pretty easy to fall off because you lose essentially the ground under your feet

“You are a great champion. When you ran, the ground shook, the sky opened and mere mortals parted. Parted the way to victory, where you'll meet me in the winner's circle, where I'll put a blanket of flowers on your back.” This reminds me so much of the victory Jesus Christ won for us.
I still remember watching this in theaters with my best friend from school and we were literally in disbelief 🫢 and cheering her on! Even as adult watching this is truly a great movie 🍿
The part that gets me is before the race when the stallion attacks Sonia causing her to go down hard on the leg that they had been trying to heal and then Kurt Russel was ready to just quit and told them to bring her in and she was fighting them because she wanted to race and he read her and repeated exactly what Dakota Fanning said to her about the sky parting and basically her winning the race and he realized she wanted to race❤️❤️❤️
When I was a kid, I saw this movie with my family. I have a fond memory. I forgot almost the whole movie shop, but I remember a queer, persistent little girl with her family! Me encanta esta película no me canso de verla, SOÑADORA lo que somos muchos SOMOS SOÑADORES Y LOS SUEÑOS SE CUMPLEN CUANDO LUCHA X ELLO TE ESFUERZAS CON CORAZÓN Y CON NUESTROS SEÑOR DIOS A NUESTRO LADO TODO ES POSIBLE
This is the way every resource should be trained the way the guided train Sonia in this movie he was kind and gentle with her. He never gave her steroids or overworked her. I absolutely love watching horses race because one of my favourite things about horses and seeing them run however, if you pump a horse full of steroids or abuse them, or work them until they drop them that completely destroys the beauty of watching them race. for me, I wish even though I know it doesn’t happen. I wish every single horse trainer who had their horses in horse racing, would treat the horses the way this Guy treated Sonia

That shot of Kurt Russel looking a his daughter and his father looking at him is what life is all about.
The moment she charges to full speed and gives her all, always makes tear up. Such a beautiful movie
outstanding movie, right up there with Seabiscuit and Secretariat. Total enjoyment, great cast.
One of the cast was a small part by Dick Allen who probably loved horses as much as he loved playing baseball.
