@@PopOutPaulie They were down by 6 with 0 outs in the 9th in April against a Phillies team that was trying to find its footing. The D-Backs one is better
July 28, 2001 Pirates vs Astro is the greatest. It was 8-2 with 2 outs in the ninth. What makes it great is the cast of characters that scored those 7 runs to win.
I lived in the Lehigh Valley when Domonic Brown was on the IronPigs and killing it. Went to a lot of games and he seemed as close to a sure fire thing as you could have in triple A. That's what makes baseball so unique man
Im biased as a brewers fan but i feel like there have been a few of these recently. Eric Thames, Jesus Aguilar, Jordan Lyles are the three that come to mind
I didn’t dig into the mechanics or anything but it’s gotta be something. He also started the year with elite discipline and quickly regressed to his usual self
De la Cruz is going through the same situation, he tore up the minors, then has a great start in the majors, but has been going through a long drought/struggle, at this point, the reds are just keeping him around because of his speed
@@jamzerobson2070 give it time, he’s hit and miss, this tear he’s on won’t last much longer, I’m a reds fan as well, either he’ll have a huge drop off or he’ll eventually be traded, it’s the reds way
2013 spring and summer Dominic Brown is the greatest enigma I have ever witnessed as a Phillies fan. Dude just went ballistic for that year. I literally cannot describe how good he was. I thought he would be the future. And then he vanished off the face of the diamond. I still have a promotion night plastic drink cup of him from a ballpark night that year. Wild to remember him going insane like that.
Very surprised to see you put Hank Aaron on this list. Since he played for over 20 years, I wouldn’t consider him a “Linsanity” run player. But, it’s your channel and you make the list! Liked!
I think Mark Trumbo and Joey Meneses deserve a spot here. Mark Trumbo had a solid career. He had 3 or 4 phenomenal seasons, one including 47 home runs. He fell off a cliff though. Meneses had an amazing end of the 2022 season. He’s been pretty good this year, but nothing like the end of last year.
Cool, another one of these. If you want ideas for another, you could take a look at Sam Haggerty in 2022. Had a summertime stretch where he was crushing lefties and playing great defense.
M’s fan here. I’d say he’s a decent player to have on your bench, but that summer definitely deserves to be singled out. That 2022 M’s team is a season I’ll never forget because of the drought ending, and Haggerty’s hitting in the summer was part of it. Side note: He would’ve been nice to have in the playoffs; too bad he got hurt in a game against Detroit that was after we clinched.
I think Schneider's underlying stats paint him as someone who will be very good going forward, but I also think everyone knows what he's currently doing is not sustainable
@@AndThatsBaseball Yeah Definitely agree that it's obviously not sustainable but he definitely seems to have a great approach at the plate, choosing his pitches and taking a lot of walks. He also had a great stache
Injuries suck. Plus a 6/24mil isn’t the worst contract ever, and is relatively cheap compared to some of the worst ones. Hell, the Rockies sent $50mil to the Cardinals in the Arenado trade, over double what the Phillies paid Kingery
I saw Derek Deitrch hit a home run in 2021 I believe it was, he was with the Yankees double or triple A VS the Hartford yard goats. Hit that ball a mile and pimped the shit out of it
He’s a guy who I think would’ve been a great player if not for injuries. Had he and Brantley been healthy on the 2016 Indians they would’ve been unstoppable
A lot of times it takes teams a month or two to figure out a new weakness in a batter that finds adjustments over an offseason. Expected stats aren’t really as predictive as people think, they just show what a player’s numbers should look like based on their current tendencies. Exploitation of previously unexploited weaknesses will decrease expected and actual stats
Ngl as a reds fan I honestly blame the hitting coach ( kinda) I blame David bell and the reds owner for the downfall. Ever since Brian price got the manager deal it’s been shit. Tbh out of all the players Dietrich was the best of them all.
Aristides Aquino has been buried in the NPB minors since about May. To add to his OPS being terrible, his wRC+ is 25. It's not just a "year of the pitcher" thing, he sucks. Also most of the guys putting up historic seasons (Yamamoto, Sasaki, etc) are Pacific League pitchers, the Dragons are a Central League team, meaning that Aquino didn't even face them. I normally don't want foreign players to fail in NPB, but to see a bunch of people run their mouth about how he was going to be a star, and even break the Dragons team home run record in year 1, it's nice to have an "I told you so" moment in my back pocket for whenever people spit some ignorant stuff when a decently recognizable foreign player gets signed.

I remember they had the “incredible” call in MLB 12 The Show, heard it so many times while playing
Thanks again for helping out!
Aquino was the poster child of the rabbit ball season
I knew it was fugazi when Brett Gardner hit 28 hrs
I’ll never forget Ryan roberts walk off grand slam against the dodgers. IMO the best baseball comeback in modern baseball history.
You can definitely make that argument. Down to your final out, division rival, and you score 6 runs? Unreal
Nah the Mets comeback last year against Phillies definitely has that title. But this one isn't far behind
Indians vs Mariners is the greatest comeback of all time.

It’s crazy how he’s hitting even worse in the Japanese minor leagues than he did the last few years with the Reds
