- During a city tour of Salzburg, Manfred shows us the advantages of his Fiat Panda 4x4 from 1988.
With this one, only the all-wheel drive technology was "made in Austria". The previous model was made entirely in Austria in Graz.
Der Wagen befindet sich in einem traumhaften Zustand! Keine Rostschäden sichtbar! Bemerkenswert insbesondere weil es beim Neukauf kein Sammlerfahrzeug gewesen ist und dennoch hat er die Jahrzehnte überstanden! In Italien ist der Panda auch heutzutage noch ein beliebter Wagen. Übersichtlich, passt gut durch die schmalen Strassen, einfach zu warten und günstig im Unterhalt. Schaue immer nach diesen Fahrzeugen weil die Fahrer durchweg immer sympathisch sind.
Ja das stimmt, er wird von seinem Besitzer auch sehr gut gehegt und gepflegt und auch nicht überbeansprucht, deswegen haben wir auch für diesen Clip nur eine eher dezente Straße für seine eigentlichen Fähigkeiten ausgewählt.

Die Teppiche sind dafür um vor jedem Hindernis zum Beten ?
:-))) Nein das sind keine Gebetsteppiche, die haben eine andere Funktion. Ich vertraue auf die Fähigkeiten und Kompetenzen des Fahrers. Die Teppiche sind nur für den äußersten Notfall wenn gar nichts mehr geht, dann dienen die Teppiche als Flugteppiche zum weiterfliegen ;-)
Ohne den wichtigen Allrad Antrieb hättet ihr den Berg nie bezwungen. Nie
A wo. Dua ned übadreim. De waratn scho naufkumma. Guad, ma hätt dazua an Profi wia an Demuth Harald am Lenka braucht, dazua an Satz Spezialreifn mit extrema Traktion (de voadan warn danoch hi gwesen) und ma hätt a enorms Risiko eigeh miassn. Oba sie waratn naufkemma. Gwies. Des konnst ma glaam.
Doch doch, bei den immer wieder am Weg auftretenden Eisflächen hätten wir dann halt geschoben oder gezogen ;-)

Really nice video - and interested to learn what sunroof you have fitted. It really looks fantastic with a full length sunroof. But where did you get the sunroof? Is it from a Twingo? And if so, what year?
And does it have any effect on the structural stiffness, removing the reinforced centrepiece on the roof? Really keen to learn. Best

Hey mate. You didnt need to engage 4x4 on that dry tarmac hill at all. By such negligible and obscure show off you can loose a lot It would not matter if that street would go straight but on that tight turns the worst you can do for that gearbox is to engage 4x4 on dry tarmac and do tight turns. Consider that in curves the gearbox is dealing with two different speeds, one from front wheels and one from rear wheels because there is not central differential, with that lever you rigidly do connect axles and rear axle is doing different radius than front. In better case it is forcing one or two wheels to slip/spin to equalize those differencies. Be careful. There are not many of those gearboxes left to replace (I have spare one for my panda). As far as i know you could crack gearbox housing.
Thank you for your wise advice, but we just engaged it for a short time for demonstration for the video clip. Also because Manfred does not want to expose the car really hard conditions. His Fiat Panda is a collector's item that he keeps and cares for.
@@roadrarities It seems like you dont understand. Those conditions are the worst to engage 4x4 and even for that "short" time in video. Especially when it is a collector's item.

Ja mei, wos hätt FIAT a macha soin? Mid da Leistung vo dem neia Modoa kummd da Frontantrieb an seine Grenzn. Duach des enorme Drehmoment warat des Auto kaum fahrbar. Ma breichat schtändig neie Roafn voan wei de beim zügign Anfahrn in Rauch aufgenga.
Mid dem Broblem wor FIAT ned alloa. Audi is genauso ganga. Drum hod ma de schtärkan 5- und 6-Zylinda-Turbomodoan, de V8, V10, V12 und W12 Maschina nua mid Allrad vabaud.
Da Roafnherstölla dadad si gfrein!
