The Endless Adventure
I have never ever placed a comment before , but I find it admirable that young people enter into new experiences with an open mind and are willing to give anything a try . Full marks to you all . Well done !!!!
I like the way you guys are very respectful of each countries food and very positive. Keep that shit up guys
Thanks! We love trying and showing off all the deliciously amazing food we come across 🍝🍜🍛
I've made coddle a few times in the past year. A big hit with me and my friends. Substitute parsnips for the potato and it's even better.
It's huge plus they really respect different cultures and they foods.. Really enjoy to watching :)
Love the way you don't use bad language. Thank you!
I love that you two are not afraid of trying interesting foods and weird foods. Your videos are very inspiring!
They seem to be a very attractive couple who make good videos.
Stumbled across this channel on my UA-cam recommendations ... So glad I clicked. Amazing series!!
Awesome, thanks so much! Excited to have you along on the adventure 😊
The Endless Adventure No worries! Hope you get to return to the UK at some point, so many hidden gems in London food wise. Melting pot of different cultures = amazing food
I feel like there are better things you could have tried. Calconnan with ham shank is a favourite of mine, seafood chowder, an Irish breakfast with soda bread and potato farls, champ with salmon, cheese and onion tayto crisps in a floury bap is a staple for any lunch time, apple crumble/apple cake with custard, spiced ginger pound cake, current squares, flakemeal crunchies, porter cake, sausage rolls with brown sauce, Sunday roast with mash and roast patatos, carrot and parsnip mash, gravy and the works!
AWeeDram ...Colcannan!!! love it!
AWeeDram Oh, mercy, now I'm reallllllllllly hungry...
Aweedram, the only Irish traditional dish is calconnan. All of the rest you mention are very British. In fact seafood chowder is a Devonian soup. The Pilgrims who sailed to the New World took it with them and the yanks refined it by adding spuds and cream.
AweeDram. You are makin me so home sick. I am in the USA on business and will be here for another three weeks before I can go home. I was doing ok tell I read your post, now I don't know if I can make it that long or not.
You're spot on!
Great vid! I'm from Dublin and haven't heard of a lot of these dishes haha. Our food is not that different to English food. But there are some great products you can't get anywhere else. White pudding in the traditional Irish breakfast is a food I miss when I'm abroad. Soda bread. Red lemonade. Also, Tayto crisps are lovely. Colcannon is a nice dish. We have great seafood here too. Especially around the coast, seafood chowder, oysters, smoked salmon, cod and chips mmm! Some examples of fast food staples in the Irish diet these days are a Spice Box, Chicken Fillet Roll, Breakfast Roll, Garlic Cheese chips, Curry chips.
Oh heavens, all of this looks so freaking delicious! I wanna visit Ireland even more now!
I've been watching a lot of videos for a few months because we have been planning a vacation to Ireland and now it's 14 days away. All of the food you ate looks delicious and now I know what I will be trying
I used to bake Chestercake at work, in Kildare. My customers loved it. Its like a cookie sandwich feeled with wet dough made with raisins , currants, eggs, coffee, cinnamon and sweet🍒. Very yummy for tea time
Hey guys, love your videos and this one in particular. I live 1 minute away from Le Bon Crubeen and I work in a store about 5 minutes down the road from there. A lot of tourists ask for recomendations on where to go to eat and Le Bon Crubeen is where I always send folks. I would say though that Le Bon Crubeen have a kind of fusion menu going on. Its like Irish food elevated to a French (ish) kind of level. But as an Irish guy thats what makes it more interesting for me and I think it makes the experience of Irish food tastier for foreigners trying Irish food for the first time. However you are not getting the 100% bare bones authentic Irish food from there. Hope you enjoyed your time in "sunny" Dublin and I look forward to more of your videos
+John Costello thanks for the info!
I don't know if you tried the Guiness in Ireland? But if you didn't, you missed out big time! Irish Guiness tastes totally different to Guinness anywhere outside of Ireland, its so smooth creamy and yummy, doesnt have a bitter after taste like in England, its a true delight!
I have to agree with you on that one.
We did! Check out our vlog just before this one. We actually had a Guinness at the Guinness Storehouse and it was 👌 ua-cam.com/video/7Tfqdx4ja4Y/v-deo.html
in england they dont let it settle.
@@nalafaun1505 they've settled long enough
Just want to say I really loved the music in this. Dunno if you've got the same music in every video, this is the first one I've seen, but I was jamming to it.
Also that stew brought some nostalgia so I just opened up a can of some stuff to pretend it's the same. It counts if I pretend hard enough.
Hi, a rasher is a slice of bacon, back or streaky. Ham comes from the back leg of a pig between the gamman and the hock, cured by salting and perhaps smoking. The stuff that comes in square slices is not HAM. It is recovered meat probably cured quickly in brine and whatever else the manufacturers are allowed to do with it.
Having traveled to a lot of the countries you visited, I feel that you give some great insight. Love seeing all your vlogs. Great job!
I love that they gave them a Bailey's cheesecake like it was a traditional Irish food lol. I love Irish humour.
Hey guys, Irish Culinary Arts student here. If you are visiting Ireland and want the best modern Irish food, I completely recommend you look into MacNean House and Restaurant in Blacklion, County Cavan. I visited there myself and I have never had better food in my life.
Thats good advice, but people have waited up to 3years to get a table there not really practical for tourists unless they are super planners
clay fada Yes you are right lol. I forgot to factor in the waiting list. I guess I was super lucky to have had lunch there with my college at a heavy discount!
Nevin maguire would i imagine be keen on education in that field,so you probably got preferential threatment and quite right too danny
Every Saint Patrick's Day I like to make beef and Guinness stew and colcannon. This video made me realize how much I miss both. Can't wait to Saint Patrick's Day!
I make that all the time. Although i live in England, my Dad was born in Co. Cork. I made Steak and Guinness stew for friends in the US. They loved it
joanna kennedy I have also seen beef and Guinness in a pie that my uncle has had
Love your channel and your videos! You guys are awesome together and do the shows SO well! You are very blessed and fortunate to be able to do this, thank you for sharing it with us!
Thanks so much, Cat! We're definitely enjoying the adventure :) Glad to have you traveling along with us!
The stews look so hearty! I love being able to sample a few different things. 😋
There were a few dishes here that we didn't try when we were in Ireland. We'll just have to go back! 😃
I loooooooove the way you make things easier for the new travellers! Your blogs are my dope :D
😂
I will be in Ireland soon and will certainly try those dishes you propose. Thank you for this good video.
Love your enthusiasm, literally just came across your channel and I'm so glad I did. I've watched them all in one sitting which has certainly helped alleviate my birthday hangover. I hope you guys keep it up. Awesome work. Jonny, Edinburgh.
Thanks so much and welcome to the adventure! Glad we could help the hangover...and happy belated birthday! 🎂🎉
Found this channel and really like the information and how positive the food reviews are. You guys are great. Keep it up!
Dublin is a very walkable city. It's a small town with a big name and reputation. Very nice place to visit.
The magical 3-in-1! Very traditional post-pub food
Going to Ireland in September, 2017 and this is really what I am looking for. Love your videos and thank you.
Awesome! So glad you found it helpful :D
You two are so sweet! I had one of your videos in my recommended box and am so glad I clicked. I've just sat and watched lots of your videos! One thing I've heard is nice to eat in Dublin is a Spice bag. I have no idea what that actually is, but I think I want one haha!
I agree with other people who have said you should have tried colcannon, probably the food most associated with ireland
I am Irish and never heard of it, is it a tourist dish?
Oh my what a yummy vlog!! My mouth is watering seeing all those yummy comfort foods. Makes me feel all cozy inside.:) -Ash
+WΔY ΔWΔY this was definitely one of the most delicious days yet!
I love your guys' videos. Keep up the great work, keep traveling, and most importantly, keep eating!!
I'll travel to Ireland in a few weeks. I didn't chose this place for the food, and looking at your video... proved me right.
Such great vlogs. A great find. Thank you for sharing
Thanks so much!
This is a great channel to come across! Thank you for bringing us all along with you on your culinary adventures (and it sounds like your followers and commenters here will be more honest with you than the waitresses😉).
Ohhhhhhh BOXTY. Now I am home sick. My mother was from County Cork, and you brought back memories. I walked all over the streets of Dublin. I am feeling so home sick for Eire and Scotland
Bacon cabbage and spuds is about the only real Irish cuisine. That's why Ireland was full of pubs not restaurants.
yes my mum and dad would have that and they are related to leprechauns
Take the flag down and I might agree with you.
All the things mentioned in the video are Irish specifically, so you're wrong, but I do love bacon and cabbage.
@@thenextshenanigantownandth4393 I'm not wrong.
@ Prove it
While we were there we ate the lamb stew and fish and chips and both were excellent. We also had clam chowder a couple of times and also delicious.
I've had the pleasure of going to Ireland twice and the one dish that stands out to me was beef stew I had in the city of Blarney. it was a traditional beef stew but it had two large spoon full of red mashed potatoes in it. it was awesome. If you go to Ireland and want to kiss the blarney stone then this restaurant is for you.Don't know the name but it was in a small park right by where the Blarney Stone is.
Stew is pure Irish. Never had pigs feet but, have had ox tongue and hearts and liver is also popular. Most Irish dish however, is just a plain and simple roast dinner (meat, veg and mash) or bacon and cabbage.
I remember the butchers in Moore St used to put crubeens on display.
Love love love this channel! Just discovered it this week!
That's awesome, thanks!
I love the background music in these videos.
OMG! You guys literally did Ireland just one year before us. We visited in 2018. TBH, Dublin was our least favorite spot, but we did see Riverdance at the Gay Theater, and did the music pub crawl, so we made the best of if . Otherwise, it was just another big city. Our favorites were Kilkenny, Killarney, and the Aran Islands. I hope you did the Kerry Ring and did it properly. Best is to drive it clockwise, while all the tour busses go counter clockwise. Then take the Skellig Ring...while you're out there, all the busses pass by on the main road...so you never encounter a single tour bus. Best day of our lives.
Ireland is so beautiful and green and the food looks so So amazing!!!!!
I loved the breakfast there, especially the black and white pudding, which I thought I would hate.
Tried the stew samples at boxty house and it was awesome!!! thanks
Ooopsies, slipped out of your first videos. This was delightful, love Ireland. Back to watching from the beginning.
I haven't heard of the first cake or coddle but I'd recommend a full Irish breakfast and fresh fish and chips for dinner
Your videos are great, so well produced. Lovely music and creative filming and the food is interesting. Thanks.
+Sylvia Page thanks so much!
I hope you toured Guinness! We had so much fun!
Man, I need that stew sampler in my life! Looks soooo delicious!
It really was 😂
so glad I found your channel guys! :) thanks for sharing your adventures! :) greetings from Germany! :)
+TheXtremeButterfly glad to have you along for the adventure 😊
Man, I'm so hungry...all I can think of is Irish Stew!!! So, enjoying these two's adventure. After seeing their last vid I might get the courage to try a battered Mars Bar!
In ireland we have friendly people great scenery great sports great music literature history food really we have good produce.
Excellent information about dining in Dublin. Thank you
you need to try potato bread and wheaten bread. boiled loaf too 😍😍😍😍
You guys do a beautiful job!!!!
Breakfast roll and a club orange. Taco chips and battered sausages. A hot herb stuffed chicken from tesco. Bacon and cabbage
This vlog is awesome! Come to Philly, PA. Tons of local only food stuffs! And the birthplace of USA!
The local we’ve been chatting with. Oh God 😂
Hey guys looks delish the stew & soda bread ...nice
I lived in Dublin for 2 years. I never did try the Guinness Stew but Irish Stew is to die for.....especially if you get a whole tattie x Bring the food blogs from your next adventure guysxxx
U missed potato bread! It's great 💕
Potato bread, and pancakes to(I know you tried that in the boxsty, but on its own is nice. Soda bread, blood pudding, guiness, all good. My favorite food in Ireland is Lynchs in Kilester or next door, crispy aromatic duck at the Regent(Chinese lol)
Potato cakes are a must! They were my absolute favouriteeeee (idk if there actually called potato cakes) but they’re a square potato based bread thing that kind of look like hockey pucks? Hard to explain but absolutely delicious
Yes ! We enjoy the nice food , we want more , thank u
👍
Make me hungry, and I just ate lunch! Mmm, a good cup of Ethiopian hot water would go good right now... Me paternal ancestors left Northern Ireland in 1784. Reckon like me, they couldn't stand the cold cloudy weather nary more. Maybe I visit some day.
you haven't tried a good fry until you've tried a ulster fry (northern ireland)... you cant beat the potato and soda bread, yummy
As an Irish American it’s kinda cool to see the roots of a lot of the foods my parents and I have eaten since we were kids. Crazy how similar a lot of the family dishes are to these.
I’m irish and never heard of any of that except cott
E
I'm Irish and I've never heard of pigs feet and half of the other things haha
😂 Well we can definitely recommend them, they were veeerry delicious 👌
Realy Kevin,Are you two years old and just messing around on the your new Ipad with the new wifi Mum an Dad paid for,Your mother was raised on pigs feet yea fool yea.
Same I’ve never heard of this. Sounds like a tourist trap tbh 😳
thats all they go to are tourist traps
It's not a tourist trap lol Crubeens we're sold in almost every butchers but sadly over the last couple of decades they fazed out, although my local last paddy's day served a big dish of salted Crubeens to all the customers free.... Guess they're was method behind his madness they were really salted /pickled Crubeens I had 2 and drank 15 pints afterwards and that was just kill the thirst hahaha 😂 😂 😂 😂
I'm Irish and I've never heard of those I think its the americanised view of what traditional Irish food is
In Canada we have the ragout de patter de cochon or jarret de porc. Known as Eisbein in German. But this is fine cuisine!
Thanks for info. We are off to Dublin in July so will add your suggestions yo our list 🍺🥃
Apart from the coddle and stew the other stuff is rarely eaten here, but then you won’t find too much of anything traditional Irish in Templebar
As a dub born and raised I think this video was spot on. However some of what you tried, mainly coddle is a traditional Dublin dish that a lot of people from rural Ireland are not likely to have heard of or tried. So don't mind the culchies saying it's not Irish just because they've never heard of it. Btw don't go near that boardwalk along the liffey, it's full of junkies.
what are you on About i am from Tipperary and i love Cooddle as for the Crubeens Never seen or have them that way in Batter Straight Pigs Feet Hair and all Boiled.
I miss being third, but sure!
Looks amazing! Baileys coffee is something great too!
Seafood Chowder always gorgeous in Ireland
The food in Ireland is really really good.
I'm Irish and I have never ever heard of these dishes apart from stew obviously
Blackberry Apple crumble... that time when the names of the ingridients of a dessert are brand names as well... ^^
You hit England, Scotland and Ireland, but you didn't get to Wales. They have some amazing food, especially fish and seafood dishes. Such a pity that you missed out on it.
Sounds more like the bakery owner just didn't want to send your business to another bakery. I can't believe they wouldn't know of another place that had gur cake in town.
I'm going to Ireland next week ! I can't wait to try one of these dishes ! 😁
C_Marie how did ya get on ?
LFC Shanks I love it here ! I don’t want to leave !
I've never had crubeens but they were a favourite of my Dad's when he was a kid. You pretty much ate the trotter as was. My Dad always reckoned the hairy trotters were the best as the hairs were tough and would clean your teeth. Never heard of a Gar cake but once I checked Wikipedia I recognised them immediately. Didn't know that's what they were called. Probably a Dublin thing, as is coddle (which I've never liked, bleurgh). Many people make it with just stock and curry powder.
+Pat Jackman yeah I suppose we went pretty traditional with this one! But I hope you get to try crubeens, it's a new fav of ours 👍
btw theyre called TROTTERS! :)
enjoying all yah vids. Enjoy yah travels!
Thanks so much!
Queen of Tarts isn't at all traditional, but it is excellent. You can get Baileys cheesecake anywhere, but I suspect that theirs was particularly good. The blackberry and apple crumble is more traditional, though not specific to Ireland.
Try seafood chowder in in west of Ireland (lots of places in Galway do it). Or head north and try the soda farls and potato farls.
Colcannon is also traditional, as is bacon and cabbage with parsley sauce.
Nice! Thanks for all the yummy recommendations!
You should come to Liverpool and try Scouse it is a traditional Liverpool stew, chips cheese and gravy, bubble and squeak and toad in the hole xxx
Trad crubeen is not ground up, breaded and fried. Real crubeen is straight up boiled pig trotters (feet) served usually with potatoes and cabbage. But, you can hardly find it served that way anymore except in the west of Ireland and the Aran Isles.
Perfect! as always! - I've just started my journey towards veganism...(currently still struggling with milk in coffee tho - ad its only officially day 1!) and all that amazing looking meat stuff is making me super hungry!!! haha!
I went to visit my great grandad in Ireland before he died and the food was great
Always interesting to see Amy Adams in Ireland! Enjoy the grub
you guys are really good eaters...and you seem willing to try anything!
It's part of the adventure, right?
Guys love what your sharing it's very cool HOWEVER SODA BREAD is famous in Ireland and so surprised this was not more of a talking point and NO the traditional SODA BREAD found in most B'N'B'S and other places is certainly not like 'just' another slice of bread woot woot it's awesome !!!!!!
+Fiona McInnes we wanted to make it about the stews, but we really loved the bread too!
OMG I can't believe you replied!! I feel so special, lol....you guys have a great time and be safe, I'll be following along...love you guys!
+Cat G heck yeah ✊️ glad to have you along for the adventure!
Thank you SO much!! I love all the vids I've seen so far, but the Irish has been my favorite....my Mom's family was a crazy blend of cultures, but what amazing food!! My ancestors are Irish, Scottish, Dutch, German. Danish and British.....I remember having boxty, colcannon, fricadellan,....you name it! I loved the fricadellan (not sure if I'm saying or spelling it right, lol)...to us it was just fantastic meatballs....sometimes with gravy, and other times we dipped them in hot ketchup. My grandma's colcannon was awesome....greens and mashed potatoes with TONS of butter....a great way to use leftovers. Sometimes the greens were kale, other times collards, but they are all good...I'm making myself hungry, lol....thanks for the reply!
That all sounds amazing! Irish food is definitely hearty and delicious 👌👍
Potato pancakes with chicken in it...that sounds amazing!!!
Well thats not strictly traditional the boxty is,but it usually doesnt have a filling.Good idea though, but its an idea from the restaurant its not usual kuscu
Your videos are great. I enjoy them immensely
Thanks so much!
You should come up to Northern Ireland, similar food of course but you can see Game of Thrones sites. Always a bonus. Also great channel, great to watch.
Love your vids!
I'm from Cork, Ireland and the only thing I have had out of these is the stew & the cheesecake but you can literally get that anywhere. There's so many better things you should of tried! 😫 I'd recommend you come to Cork, we have amazing restaurants!! Love your videos 💜
I can second this; Cork has some fine eateries, and just down the road there is Kinsale - famed for its fine restaurants and pubs.
Im living in Cork for 6 years now and you don't even know what you're talking about... Here we have really nice restaurants and people are fucking nice, Im spanish and I feel like home because Corkonian are awesomely nice and friendly. I don't know where you went to have such a bad experience, but obviously it wasn't in any restaurant that I went, and I can say I had done almost all of them in the city centre!
Asuncion Romero Vergara totally agree I have relatives in cork so know what you mean but then all Irish I know are friendly and Irish hospitality is known worldwide so that guy doesn't know what he's talking about ! Btw this is coming from an Australian with strong ties to Ireland given its 90% of my ancestry and I have relatives in four counties namely cork , Kildare , Dublin and Tipperary but I also have ancestors from Cavan in the northern part of Ireland
I note you guys went to Ireland, England, and Scotland.... but not Wales !! One to come back for, and maybe try some southern English dishes too (apart from Pasties).
Mark Higton yep they should go Cornwall and the surrounds and go to Cardiff try some good Welsh rarebit and other welsh dishes my parents have been to all through she found a lot of people with her maiden name as it's a welsh surname ( Tydd) but her Tydd ancestors are from lorrha which is in the north of county Tipperary
