Thank you so much for making such an informative video. I'm looking to learn more about colour field painting for my own personal projects and I found your video very helpful
I found your video most interesting. Thank you. A colorfield artist myself, I coined the term ‘Narrative Colorfield’ in order to describe my contemporary approach to painting - an approach, rather than a style, that attempts to synthesize the romantic concerns of the 19th century with those of the colorfield movement born in New York in the 1940’s and 1950’s. I agree with you that colorfield painting is closely related to abstract expressionism.
Your work sounds very interesting and am intrigued on how this mashup of two styles or "approaches" visually marry. I think your investigation is quite evocative. I'm really happy that you found my screencast interesting, I appreciate the acknowledgement. Best of luck to you and your artistic endeavors.
Great video. You usually don't see Hans Hoffman as a color field painter but I can see it. Im very curious, what grade level is this intended for? If high school is it a public or private school?
Thank you for your comment. This is for a high school level public school. I teach the collegeboard AP Art History Course and this is one of our topics in the modern art content area.
@@MsCmichels I teach high school art but not any AP. I can't seem to get traction going too much in depth with art history but would like to do more in my upper level painting classes. Anyway your video seems just right for an AP high school art course. Hope you continue to make them. Thanks.
@@jartladder15 Thank you for your support. Its not easy teaching and inspiring students. I appreciate my colleagues who put their heart and soul into it. Best to you.
