Fun Fact: In an earlier draft of Aladdin, Jafar and Iago’s personalities were actually reversed. Jafar was going to be loud and temperamental, while Iago was oily and smooth. The versions we got were definitely for the better in my opinion.
Kind of feels like one those cliche dynamics where the minion is obviously smarter than the person in charge and will either be the real villain or be undermined by the leaders incompetence as they sigh about thinks in the background.
39:35 I know the exact scene you’re talking about. I remember when I was a kid the character of Fidget scared me. Not only in the beginning of the Movie 🎥🍿, but also the scene in the Toy Store as well.
Disney needs an animated movie with a Handsome Jack kind of villain; someone who enjoys being evil, insults and torments the heroes like the petty popular kid at school, and is voiced by an actor/actress that's just overwlofing with Charisma and Charm.
@@noahdean9685 Fun Fact: Handsome Jack is voiced by Dameon Clarke, his credits include Cell from DBZ, Chris from Lupin III: Farewell to Nostradamus, Kazuma from Fruits Basket, and Toguro from YuYu Hakusho.
Scar doesn’t get enough credit as a comedic villain. Sure, he doesn’t have a ton of opportunities for comedy, but when he gets them, it’s perfect. He has such a sadistic sense of humor, but you can’t help but chuckle at it. Not to mention how well Jeremy Irons’ performance captures Scar’s dry wit and sarcasm. Like, this dude is literally planning to murder his own brother in front of his nephew, and tells the kid that his dad has a surprise for him. “Hey, Uncle Scar, will I like the surprise?” “Simba, it’s to DIE for.” Bro has the most fucked up sense of humor out of any Disney villain and I can’t help but love it.
6:25 A lesser-known theory in the Emperor's New Groove Fandom is that Yzma does the various roller coasters in the movies and the TV Show to get to the lab because she secretly likes that Kronk enjoys it
I think of cruella & Ratigan as tense villains than comedy villains bc one tried to murder dogs, the other defines how Moriarty is with sherlock classic clashing.
7:15- Pat Carroll Jonathan Freeman and Gilbert Gottfried Martha Wentworth Verna Felton Hans Conreid and Bill Thompson Betty Lou Gerson Vincent Price Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton Peter Ustinov and Terry-Thomas Richard White James Woods
Peter Ustinov provided Prince John's (and King Richard's) voice to many of the foreign dubs of _Robin Hood_ _Hercules_ was the only film from the Disney Renaissance that wasn't the top animated film of the year. Although Disney now owns Fox so Don Bluth still can't call it a win.
@Glamrockroxy2025 just now saw I had a response to this comment. I also love that Kate mentions my favorite part of Emporors New Groove, when Kronk is playing his own sneaking music and when he pushes up against the wall
James Wood and Scott Bullock both do AMAZING villain Hades roles. Both are similar but different, and I'd absolutely ADORE them to somehow both do their Hades interacting with each other.
Not quite related, but what's the name of that song playing in the background before they start the video? I've got the melody stuck in my head but forgot the title
Even though he was from one disney's weaker films (still better than what they're putting out now a days), I think Alameda Slim (from Home on the Range) should've at least gotten an honorable mention. His interactions with his nephews were funny, and his villain song was down right hilarious; due to how ridiculously over the top it was.
Gaston shouldn´t have been on this list. Shere Khan (maybe also Kaa included) and Lucifer from Cinderella should. The comedy they brought while being villains was gold.
But to me Gaston was funnier than Shere Khan. It cracks me up every time when he’s at her house, he’s literally proposing & in mid-sentence has to look at himself in the mirror & fix his teeth, lol. Also the way he takes his shoes off & just makes himself at home. His first line is funny to me “I know” all cocky.
@@Adrianne519 Each their own. Gaston´s behaviour of a jock in the 18th century (or just an annoying house guest) doesn´t get a laugh from me. More like same reaction Belle has. Shere Khan´s morbid humor with Kaa or the vultures does make me chuckle.
@@embran8486 oh yeah, for sure. Yes, Shere Khan & Kaa were great together, it’s my favorite scene in the movie, they really should have had more scenes together and not just the one scene. Kaa in general is super funny as well.

I can relate with Nic's fear of sharks and with my fear of frogs while some are way smaller there are kinds to kill you with a touch konosuba help with this completely rational fear
I feel like, with the KH games, they have a far more rigid "script" they go off of. Because of this, the free-flowing manner of James Woods' sublime delivery as Hades is considerably _muted._ Also, note them saying that, for Hades, they build the character _around_ Woods' portrayal. They really can't do that with KH because, well... the character's already existed for a while; he has his identity. When it's the first appearance, you're given much more creative freedom. Here, they just want "Hades, the fast-talking wheelin' & dealin' Lord of the Underworld." Woods needs his freedom.

Can I be honest? I'm tired of seeing the same Disney villains in these top 10s... IN BOTH THE ORIGINAL MOVIE AND THE TWO REMAKES (medias that usually give closure to such open fates)! This mofo got his comeuppeance in a book and in a videogame, THAT'S IT! And he's apparently not doing it just for the money like in the original story, he just kidnaps and makes kids suffer for being rowdy! Has so many layers of mysteries that seems to indicate he might be the Devil! And that ShitYourPants grin that inspired TWO cuphead bosses! HOW HE ISN'T IN A TOP 10 OF BEST VILLAINS!? Nostalgia Critic is the only one that I saw giving some respect to a few of them, but admitedly, I was expecting more of them in this list (mostly because I thought he meant "fun" as "comical", not "fun" as "really enjoyable")
