Oh good to see someone else with this camera! I randomly discovered one in my own collection too, I have no idea where it came from hahaha.. but mine has a waterproof housing which is pretty cool! I am yet to use it :) but you've inspired me
Such a shame you didn't enjoy this camera! It's one of my favourites. I think maybe the reason you didn't get so many good photos is because you need to hold your finger down and keep it down. The L-CA will keep the shutter open until it has enough light to expose. Also leave to on Auto unless using a flash........Please please use it again!
06:50 I don't think the frame/viewfinder is off, I think you shot it at the wrong zone/distance. This is a great camera, especially for that time (you have an old model). Don't be so harsh on this little sweetheart. :) Because, when these - well designed - things don't work like you want to, 90% of the time it's because of the user, not because of the camera. Ps. When the viewfinder is blurry, for example, clean it with a cotton swap and some lens cleaning liquid. Also you can not judge/test the achievements of an analog camera by using expired film. Not properly. Pps. Refresh the batteries, that will probably also give you a better result, already. Among other things.
Hi, I know it's a year late but I recommend Olympus XA series for compact point and shoot. XA has more controls, but Olympus XA2 and Lomo LCA are being compared to to each another. I have both but i like using LCA more...
you are holding a piece of history in your hands. come ooon. This is a wonderful camera. I have it, I love it. and who cares if half of the roll is usually crap :)
Great video! Sometimes its fun to just experiment with cheaper cameras, I have a Holga that strangely enough actually takes pretty decent photographs. It's a plastic lens of course, but I managed to get lucky with mine, as it actually can be sharp at times, well as sharp as a Holga gets anyway;) Looking forward to the next video!
I just bought the more solid older soviet version of this camera. This one is the more plasticy lomography remake of the LC-A I think. We'll see how it goes. I'm personally more of a fan of the unpredictable artsy flim photography style associated with lomography so I'm looking forward to trying it out.
08:50 You don't need a better Point and Shoot camera I think, instead try to understand the camera. That would make more of a difference than a new one, imo. Ps. Otherwise, go with the Konica C35 EF (new model). It's a great camera and can be used with little knowledge. And, it also has a build-in flash. Might come in handy in little light conditions.
Personally i use Pentax espio 928 as my point-and-shoot. I could talk about the specs but the honest reason i use it is that i got it cheaply from a thriftstore and it's good enough for casual use. It's a bit chonky tho.
Hi Sam! Love your content. Here’s a suggestion for a good point and shoot. I love shooting with the Canon Owl. Has a larger view finder compared to your typical compact. You can turn off the flash. Other than that there’s really no other settings. It’s a true point and shoot. It’s been one of the most reliable point and shoot cameras I’ve used.
Great video. But, I think it's not an efficient approach to test a camera with expired film. When something's off in your shot, you never know if it's because of the camera, or the expired film. So, that's not a great way to test it (yes, speaking from experience :) Anyway, thanks for the upload!
Also, my favorite Film Point and Shoot are the Minolta Freedom Zoom 140EX, a.k.a Minolta Riva Zoom 140EX, a.k.a Minolta Capios 140, because of its passive Auto Focus system paired with Multi Autofocus system that is good for low-light photography and improved auto focus overall. The lens itself is a Minolta Aspherical Zoom Lens 38 mm - 140 mm f/3.5. Another favorite of mine is the Minolta Capios 25 or the Minolta Capios 75 (the only difference is the focal length of the cameras). I love that it sports a 28mm Wide Lens with f/3.5 and a Multi Auto Focus system. Those two, IMHO, are better than the Olympus MJU Zoom Point & Shoots.
@@jerickoescleto Auto focus plus zoomm lens are 2 important things that will make a point shoot camera so much easier to use I think... If it's a fixed lens, I'm more used to 35mm or 50mm... and I already broke 2 Minolta cameras, I guess it's time to buy a 3rd one~ lol
@@itscapturedbysam You also want to choose from the Pentax Espio line. They have great lens and easy to operate system. IF you want a fixed lens, I suggest finding vintage Canon or Nikon PnS such as Autoboy 3 or Nikon L35AF line. I just love point and shoot film cameras with multi-AF because I have less worry with focus issues, and sometimes those cameras have move than the Auto setting such as macro mode, spot metering, Slow-sync flash modes, and the like. Hope this helps!
Yea, I did bring it to Coachella, it actually works better there, it’s so tiny and low profile, if I know how to properly use the camera, it would not be so much of a disaster… shooting auto mode is though~ lol
@@jerickoescleto I’m still figuring it out, I can’t always get a consistent scan just yet, ( maybe something to do with me keep using expired film LoL)… but yeah, it is on my list.

I will give it another try, I'm just not use to the manual focus point system... and I will try your suggestion next time holding the shutter longer!!
Exactly. 👍
Hey! Did you continue using the LC-A after this video? If so, have your thoughts changed at all or are you still mostly not liking it?

I will give it a second chance LOL~ if film is cheaper, I won't mind the crap half roll that much~~~ but film is soooo expensive 🥲
@@itscapturedbysam So true. Such a pity, really. I remember in 90s everything was so cheap, we had thousands of printed photos. good times

Totally understand!! Some times we just use whatever we have in hand, we make it work!! 👏🏻
Loved the video!! What a cool little camera
Love seeing you use more expired film!!

Awaiting the Camera Tier List episode 😁
I will need whole a lot “buying unnecessary cameras” to do that~ 😂
I stopped the video at minute 0.10 just to say that I absolutly love this woman. End of my comment. Over.
Thank you ☺️
Yay! new video! always wanted that cam but zone focusing is such a hard thing to master for me. :>

I should sell this already 🫠
sorry the camera was such a disaster 😂
