Same.. when I first saw clips of Ivar the boneless on UA-cam I became obsessed with Vikings. The battles, raids, axes, Ivar etc... I want to go back in time and live as a Viking and their ways. Vikings was great, the last kingdom was great, vikings valhalla season 1 was great.. but seasons 2 Meh, season 3 wasn't bad but the final episode was 1/10. Rushed, things being set up for another season and where are the battles? This season is un-finished ffs
This feels like a shame. Especially seeing all the pieces coming into place towards 1066. The Viking age feels like it ended when Harald died in battle in 1066 and that would have been awesome to see on screen
I loved season 3 and couldn't couldn't stop. I watched the whole this in one take. Netflix pls, please make another season if not a movie!?? I dont know, but my fingers are crossed.🙏
It was supposed to get 2 more seasons, as showrunner has said some time during the S1 release, to cover William, Leif in America, Hastings and Stamford. But it did not get renewed, at least no yet
I wish they handled the Freydis storyline a little better. We didn’t even get a Seer scene this season and in the end she goes off to Greenland with the man who historically christianized Greenland when there was the entire pagan Baltic region that still existed and had close ties to pagan Scandinavia. They could have tied her and her descendants in with the future Baltic crusades history like how they tied in William the Conqueror to the England storyline.
A lot of the endings seem to be tied to history, in that aspect it felt a bit rushed. Harald Hardrada is my favorite historical figure to date but unlike previous seasons it feels like they struggled with time management, maybe they should’ve extended each episode to 1 hour from 45 minutes to fix this. By the end I had completely forgot about young Harald It seems like even freydis did too. Unless you actually know the history surrounding the characters then the ending of the show will leave you far from pleased. It’s disputed whether or not freydis actually existed so I’ll skip over her but Leif does find the “Golden Land” which is America and was the first European to do so. Harald ‘Hardrada’ marries his uncle Yaroslavs daughter “Elisiv” and later goes to war 10-15 years later for England, he dies and of course loses the war but he is remembered as the last “Viking King” for his deeds.
The Succesion crisis in England is far too complicated to explain but just know that it led to the son of Godwin on the throne which goes against promisies that were made thus led to the Norman and Norwegian invasion(two separate wars on two separate fronts) of England. Which led to Norman rule of England. It’s really interesting, there’s a good UA-cam video about the war and what started it.
There was a problem with the upload with the video freezing. Very Sorry for that, I will do better next time!
Hey Alex, what’s your favorite movie that takes place in 1 day?
Games Of Thrones season 8: I am the most rushed final season ever
Viking Valhalla season 3: Hold my axe
