  • This set has saved me so much time and frustration. No more rubber boots getting stuck on the end of spark plugs!
Best price I found here amzn.to/2mmQaeD
Or you can get them on the tool truck for double that.

Magnetic spark plug sockets are a Godsend. Easy on and easy off and I don't have spark plug sockets come off the socket extension and stay with the spark plug anymore.

I cracked my cheapie 5/8 one about 6 months ago and got a magnetic one from Autozone that works pretty much the same. That thing is NICE! On my old one I got some epoxy from Harbor Freight and glued the rubber piece in the socket, but now I like my magnetic one so much I am going to go get the 13/16s one soon.

I use snap on magnetic spark plug sockets ... I got soooooo done VERY quick with the rubber ones.. They seem to work sooo much better!

yeah the rubber things can get pretty annoying on tubes with no access.

Damn. You sold me quick, dude. I placed an order immediately for a set after watching this video. Both our vehicles have the plugs buried. I have a slew of plug sockets with rubber inserts and I am not a fan of them.

Yeah I got sick of those rubber pieces coming out. What cars do you have?

Jeep Liberty and Grand Am. Plus I get to wrench on my mother in law's mini van. LOL. The set was 32 bucks. Couldn't resist. The rubber thingy sometimes sticks to the plug too well. My wobble extension sometimes slips out of the socket after torquing down the plug. Even when using boot grease. Then it's like fish the socket out with freakin extended needle nose.

Yeah, I remember doing that same thing. I think the engine that finally pissed me off enough to buy these sockets was a 5.4 Ford F150. The rubber piece got stuck on one of the back plugs that was hard enough just to get to. Then trying to get pliers or something down in there to retrieve the rubber thing. Never again.

Did that KIA lasted 100K? Replacing spark plug at the 100K mark seem right.

A little silicone paste on the rubber is great to break em in first.

I need that kit so bad!! I destroy my knuckles when I have to replace the plugs on my Ford F150 5.0 V8! Such a bitch to get the rear plugs out!! Thank you so much for the video!

yeah it great for Fords. I think thats why I bought it so long ago. The rubber pieces of the other style sockets would always get stuck deep down on the old Triton engines plugs. A nightmare to retrieve them when that happens.

yeah pretty much everything on matco truck is now made by apex. Unfortunately you have to go elsewhere if you want american made tools. Not knocking gearwrench. I have many of their tools and very few of them I dont like. If you want American hand tools though you're limited to SK, Lang, SnapOn, MAC..probably some others too I cant think of

I have had the rubber fall in the spark plug hole which can be a pain to get out if its in a difficult location. Is there any chance the magnets can come out over time and fall in the spark plug hole?

No, I dont see how. Ive been using these at work for maybe 4 years now. Still working perfectly
