I had to escort US Army prisoners to Mannheim a couple of times back in the late 1980s. I was stationed in Ettlingen and spent a lot of evenings and weekends in Karlsruhe. It always amazes me to look at newer pictures and videos to see how much slower change happens in Europe. A lot of store names have changed, but much of that drive would have looked the same in 1988.
