I have been wanting to do mosaics for many years, but never had the confidence. After watching your video, it's given me that and I am looking forward to starting a project. Thank you . I look forward to watching more.
Start with a small mosaic kit you maybe able to buy at a hardware store or craft shop. That’s what I did recently & aiming to do something slightly bigger. It great fun once you get going. Hope suggestion helps.
@@hyleslie THINSET. There are many different kinds, depending on use. For example, glass tile vs ceramic tile. Indoor vs outdoor, and in particular, the weather extremes in your area: In the "north" mosaics outdoors must withstand high heat as well as freezing temperatures, so i use thinnest that has an "elastic" quality, meaning it has a "polymer" added.
It is so very beautiful!! I would love to be able to mosaic the stairs to my basement. Mosaic the part that you see as you go up the stairs. Any chance you can do a tutorial on how to go about doing it? I imagine that this technique you were teaching would be the same for the stairs?
quite different approach. I suggest attaching tiles to a mesh rather than tape, then starting at the bottom of the wall, attach thin set then tile. be patient, use "blue tape" to hold tiles in place, then build upwards. I like to create approximately 12 inch by 12 inch "puzzelpieces" of tiles, then add each "piece" forming it into the desired location. Think of it like making a bunch of 12 inch puzzles, then attaching them all together...
I do not use any sealant for the bench since it is solid cement. The thinnest and grout are also basically cement, and the glass tiles are weather safe. Thin of the cement like a sidewalk outside your house....very durable.
great question! many people prefer mesh and that would have worked well also. The reason I don't use mesh for a small project like this is for the ease of sliding the art onto the surface of the bench.
Your calm attitude makes this seam doable!
Wow🏆🏆🏆 Absolutely dreamlike beautiful artwork and so nice to see how respectful and loving you are with your mother ♥️ Greetings from Jane Instagram
Thank you so much for making rhis video ❤

Please say more about the cement adhesive? Exactly what is it? Is it different from grout?

Absolutely beautiful!!!❤
Very inspiring, thanks for your project. 🥰
Could you have used a rolling pin to go over the tiles to flatten them onto the thinset?

Maravilhoso...uma simpatia vc
Great tutorial!
i like your vedio so much i hope it will help me thank you sir
so sorry I have not been able to reply to many of your questions, I've had 66 thousand views!
Wait is there another part of the video that shows the begin part of this?
What kind of tiles do you use for the benches?
You did inspire me. Thank you:)
Very good video. If you want to make this as a single tile inset for a table frame, do I use Hardee board for outside to put the thinset on?
hardee board is fine, as well as many other board types available.
Can you use this technique on a wall also?
Using a large sturdy piece of clear plexiglass instead of that board would help see where one's setting down the mosaic.
Do you wear a mask when cutting the mosaic glass?
Do you seal the bench before putting it outside?
I do not use any sealant for the bench since it is solid cement. The thinnest and grout are also basically cement, and the glass tiles are weather safe. Thin of the cement like a sidewalk outside your house....very durable.
Grout float would be nice papa
I couln't find the tape you put on top at Amazon. Just double sided tape. Does it have another name? and is this step really necessary? thanks.
"mosaic tape"
Hello.i want to know how to frame ur mosaic...thank u.pls make a blog for that..
How would you do that same process on a wall Without it falling off?
That's my question did you get an answer?
Is there a reason why you didn't use mosaic mesh?

music volume is too loud compared to the voice
Why not just glue them onto mesh?
😊

Should we wear a mask too? I heard getting micro glass bits in your lungs is deadly.
It is suggested to wear a mask when mixing any dry ingredients. Once "wet" there is no risk of airborne inhalation
