Love that Ice brought out the life insurance convo, I worked as a Life Claim Examiner for 10 years and *please* don't leave your full policy to a kid, that money cannot go toward your burial if you pass before the child is the age of majority. So if your kid is 5, leave them something it can be put in a trust, but also leave a small amount $15k or so for burial expenses to someone you TRUST!
can you still leave the power of attorney to the kid with that $15k for funeral expenses?? also, what about cremation? isn't that relatively cheaper than an actual funeral service?
@@kdubfresh23 It's a way to have a POA for the kids money, but a judge can approve monies to be taken, but there are rules and restrictions and to have that money it's usually only avail to be taken for the use of the kids, like the kids tuition, braces, medical expenses, etc. So it would just be easier to leave a small amount to an adult if you need your life insurance to pay for your expenses. Cremation is definitely the cheaper way to go.
Yeah that insurance is real, I lost my dad last year and had to pay for the funeral and I’ve been paying his storage since last September, 800 a month. That shit has been killing my pockets and savings, I haven’t even been able to mourn him probably because I’m always brain scattered on how ima save this storage. He has created amazing inventions and I can’t let them go. He was and is a incredible man, just certain things I wish was set up probably. Property gains equity and can be rented out or sold if absolutely necessary. At best, property can be passed down through the generations after you pass, and life insurance can secure your family's financial future and prevent your children from becoming a financial burden on someone in case of your untimely demise. This is a real grown-up conversation, and I love it.

Also, if families are able to resolve issues amongst one another please do because if you go into probate it locks off access to everything ASAP!!! My mother, unexpectedly, passed last year 4/21/2020...she had EVERYTHING arranged but in the suddenness of it all no one had her pin#'s for her bank acct's & took someone's advice to file probate (which should really only be done when ppl are fighting over assets & money) and that action tied up everything except for the burial coverage... the courts are also trying to find a way to keep things as well smh..the sad thing is that if they would've just waited a few hours for me to get my mind right I would've figured it out (which I did) because that's how close she & I are...I digress lol but seriously no one was in their right state of mind at the time & they were just trying to handle things as best as they could but yeah, stay out of probate if possible. Because he swindled them they are mad now it’s truly up to the judge on this one because it is and isn’t but he did do tax evasion by paying late and not claiming everything
