Please be mindful that we will pause (we prefer to react in the moment & to avoid copyright strike), we will react with enthusiasm, smiles, tears, conversation, exchanged looks and air-instruments. We are expressive by nature and are truly very quirky in every sense of the word. This is who we are and this is what we’ve got to offer. Transcendence deserves a full album reaction
More than any other album my friend. A true 10/10.
One of my all-time favorite bands. Transcendence is a masterpiece and midnight was a fantastic singer god rest his soul. Under appreciated band if there ever was one.
Got a call from my ex bass player. " We're opening for Crimson Glory " . I went . Small club in Baltimore in 1988 . Might have been 50 people there at most . I bought their first album from the band that night since it wasn't available in stores . . My buddy would go on to be the bass player for Iced Earth . Sadly he passed away a month ago .
Do you remember the exact date?
Amazing marathon Nick! I got hooked on Crimson Glory with their first album. Then Transcendence came out. We had a heavy metal radio station called Z-Rock in Cleveland at the time. They were playing the hell out of Crimson Glory at the time. I saw them in a small club not long after the album came out. And they were absolutely amazing! Somehow they sounded even better live. They have always been one of my favorite bands. RIP Midnight.
I saw them in a small club as well . 89 . My ex bandmate called me up and told me they were opening for Crimson Glory . Had to go . Small club of maybe 50 people total . They played like it was a stadium . Before Transcendence . Their first album wasn't in stores .. Bought mine from the band . Btw . My friend would eventually go on to play for Iced Earth for a short stint and is on The Dark Saga album
Transcendence is a masterpiece! 🥰
Local legends! Sunshine state baby! RIP Midnight
Transcendence album is indisputable. I first had the tape, later got the CD and most recently on vinyl. Transcendence is a true gem. I love it! Wait until you listen to Eternal World.
Crimson Glory just announced today that they have reformed and are releasing new music and touring next year!
The fist two albums are epic !
A very underrated band, It's a pity that you can find very few reaction videos on UA-cam.
transcendance is one of the few perfect metal records. midnight was a vocal god
Great band... Midnight was a fantastic vocalist, Jon Drenning great songwriter and guitarist, Jeff Lords is a totally underrated bassist, with a great style, chops and tone. Great choice!
Awesome reaction thank you ! Wow crimson glory!!!!!
To give credit where credit is due that's gone beyond queensryche ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Love this band! I’m only 15 but my mom and dad are huge metal heads and I was raised on queensryche, fates warning and crimson glory from my mom and Iron Maiden, dio, and mercyful fate/king diamond by my dad.
Not only those bands though, just some of the main ones
You’re lucky!! Great upbringing - good job dad!! 😎
Well done . I was the founding guitarist for a band " Mystic Force " . My friend and bass player " Keith Menser " called me one day " Were opening for Crimson Glory " . Had to go !! .Anytime Fates Warning played Baltimore . They were the opening act. Also opened for Geoff Tate when he left Queensryche . . Anytime I needed to know what was good at the time .. Keith would tell me . He would later go unto being the bass player for a short while for Iced Earth . Sadly he passed away last month
Finally someone giving some love to this wonderful band. Dream Dancer is awesome but is not really from any album, but a side B to Lonely single, off the second album.
One of my favorite bands. They only did 4 albums, the last one without Midnight (singer), who died too soon
In fact it WAS on the first album on early Par Records cassette version, and even as first song.
I saw them in concert around 89. They played almost all from Transcendance and one from the Self Titled LP. At the time I didn't even know about the Self Titled LP. It is funny you mention the similarities between Midnight and Jeff Tate, being that the guy singing for Queensriche was singing for Crimson Glory after Midnight died.
Todd is just awful and not in either of their leagues.
This is an amazing band. They could have been on the level of Queensryche for sure. Lots of talent in the guitars and voice.
Way better band than queensryche as soon as I discovered crimson glory, I could never go back to queensryche.
I'm glad that you react to bands that most others don't ... these bands need the recognition that i think they never got way back when , so keep on doing what your doing and don't stop listening to your audience, many out there when they grow just think about the money and the clicks ... so cheers Brother ! I have a wall full from top to bottom with stuff for you here, looking forward to give you some great suggestions for sure !
Thank you so much for reaction to one of the first metal band I started listening to in the mid 80's. So little reactors are reacting to this fantastic band. And Midnight is still in my heart!
You need to do painted skies and masque of the red death!
I'm from the area and know a few of these guys quite well. Before the debut was released, rumor has it, they locked themselves in the warehouse they practiced in, saying
"No one hears a note until we have it where we want it."
Transcendence probably their strongest album, a little harder sounding than QR in my opinion. Stay tuned, they could reunite for a gig here or there, most likely in the Tampa area. Talented men. Recommended:
In Dark Places and Masque of the Red Death
They rose to international fame in the mid-1980s and were considered one of the pioneers of the American progressive metal movement, along with Queensrÿche, Dream Theater, Fates Warning and Watchtower.

Great band
First two albums are among the best metal albums ever. It's absolutely tragic nobody knows them. Midnight was the best.
I really think the masks hindered their popularity a bit. I saw them both times they played the UK - first time at Hammersmith Odeon in early '87 supporting Metal Church & Anthrax, and they got a lot of grief from the audience because of the masks. Well, they were awesome musically, so what's the problem? Then saw them headline the Marquee in May '89 on the "Transcendence" tour. The venue was half full, but it was an awesome show. Midnight was an absolute beast on vocals. Departed this world far too soon!
"Is there a reason?" has been drilled into my brain. This has been quite a ride. Added to bands I might like.
Man I love Crimson Glory and I love Annihilator!
So cool, my wife intruduce me to... I Said ... thats Stratovarius... lol. Cydonia is my favorite......
It really is fantastic.
A band that deserves to be better-known imo. The eponymous debut sets out their stall well, they kinda perfected the sound on Transcendence and the final two expanded the sonic palette though from memory the songs weren't as strong. I think for me their sophomore was the closest to a masterpiece: I'm not generally a fan of fantasy/mystical type lyrics but here they work in harmony with the music so well. It would be nice to hear Transcendence remixed with a 'real' drum sound rather than the 'triggered' thing that was popular at the time but nevertheless the quality of the songs shines thru. As many have said, a real shame that Midnight passed so prematurely; a great singer
Yes. The drums, the first thing we hear on that album, totally disappointed me after the first album. Demo tapes sounded more interesting.
@diffpetrovich9314 I'll look out for the demos then, are they on YT?

Second one (1988) deleted
where is lonely? this is the song first you should check from this wonderful band...
Lost Reflection
No, it's not. The self titled album is the first thing you should check out.
Savatage was their during this time...
Sucks that their Strange and Beautiful album didn't get the love it deserves. Metalheads gave some garbage saying its "not metal enough" or that "they strayed from their element".
Granted its opinions, my take is that I love it when artists go to a different sound. I think this album is what a lot of bands should look into for how to change a style if wanted to. Although its more Hard Rock compared to Metal it still has that Crimson Glory sound- you know its CG.
Thanks Nick, thanks Narvik, great band indeed!
Nick, can I draw your attention to the Dutch band Dear Mother? I hope you will check out and react to their track Satellite. You will like it for sure!
A marathon request please/ Firefall/ Mexico/ Ambrosia/ Living on my own/ Loggins and Messina/ Angry Eyes- /Chicago/ Beginnings! Thx, Guy,s/ God Bless
Nick?
In 1989 I saw them,Roxx Gang was the top band, Crimson Glory was great Roxx Gang was good to.
They put their stamp on that shit.
