My favorite way to grind Ramza in Mandalia Plains was to make him a bard, then use Yell on himself in the corner until he was using it almost every turn I basically made him into a heavy metal bard, until I got Move +3 That was the last piece I needed to make him into the ultimate god tier Squire. I had him Duel Wield Defenders (since Ramza's custom Squire class can equip knight equipment in Chapter 4), so with Parry he was literally untouchable to frontal attacks. Combine that with having Knight Sword as his secondary skill, and I could do stuff like use Double Speed Break (since Duel Wield makes it so you use Knight Sword skills twice in a row instead of just once), then use Yell to boost his speed, and with Move +3, Ramza could just zip around the battlefield making enemies so slow that he could literally run circles around them, my thief could just around cleaning out all their gear, then they were just at our mercy to crush, since Ramza's physical attack with those 2 swords was devastating, and TG Cid was a thing.
Themes like this are why I fell so in love with this game. It made playing it feel like a perfect flow. What I mean is, nothing felt out of sync. The battles, stories, and music all kept moving at a perfect rhythm and keeps players engaged even for "grind" battles.
that game for todays is kind of a chore, just try breathe of fire 2, the time you lose watching the fading at the end of battle, its like 20s no joke this game, well i kind of lost the time for waiting each animation even if i like them, as a kid tho it was pure joy
Ah.. the theme that plays while you’re grinding and you suddenly run into a band of high lvl monks and a chocobo. Ladd is at an unreachable spot with a death count at 1. Your other units are under-leveled, and you immediately try to find a clutch move. A hard reset is imminent, and you realize you haven’t saved for hours! I always hated it when that stuff happened, but at least there was always such amazing background music going on. FFT music always makes me feel so nostalgic. It brings me back to my younger days. When, I was learning about my love for video games.
idk about that fight but i can say it happene often through the game where you havent save for a while and you have to redo so much, time for a break my mind is blowing another thing i learned too in this game the first series of battles when it end with the boss, 1v1 with ramza and then turn into zodiac, damn i coulnt beat him... and thats my only save ...damn it
Never played Final Fantasy Tactics as a child before or heard any of the music. When I tried this game out I was off put by the art style and different approach until i decided giving this game another chance. I actually came to like it. What made me decide to try it out again was when Square Enix added this musical piece to Dissidia NT later on after release, and when I saw the announcement trailer where they showed more gameplay of Final Fantasy Tactics. It also included the original one we have here. For some reason this track brings me back to my childhood and brings me peace. Almost as if I was getting nostalgia which don't make any sense as I never had any memory hearing this. This is my favorite track in this game because of that, and the fact that if no one ever told you or if you never played Final Fantasy tactics and heard this for the first time, you wouldn't believe this is a battle theme. So I also love the irony.
One of the best battle themes in any game today. The energy boost starting around 01:56 is amazing. FF Tactics as a whole, prob have the best music of any game.
Glad to see I wasn't the only who used Mandalia Plains as the grind spot
I made you quite the power house monk there Lord Beoulve
@@0BeMine0 Always the best powerhouse monk!!

I like Choco Pellets.
Best place for it :D
i remember grinding there till i was level 60+ with end game gear, jobs and skills, before moving on and clearing the story with ease
@@damienhe Oh good, I wasn't the only one. I walked into Dorter Slums with ninjas who had Blade Catch and Move+3.
The whispy flute rolling harmonic or appregio throughout this piece just pulls you like a heavy nostalgic wind
This is very likely the best battle theme for random battles in FFT.
marcamp001 antipyrectic is the shit.
Oh damn... your comment is 4 years old...
LOL you made my day
This 3 years later ... not just best for FFT, but easily one of the best in the whole Final Fantasy franchise.

When one of your guys gets merc'd by a goblin..
*death sound*

If an old deep-voiced Japanese man doesn't do my eulogy over this track at my funeral, well, I'm just not going.
And he'd better finish with the line, "that's all there is to report."
This game alone blow away cyberpunk 2077
in every aspect, music story gameplay...

i never got passed this level since i keep grinding my characters till level 60 each lmfao
Who the hell decided that this wasnt a good theme? You have a real bad taste in 🎶music🎶
