Ahhh don’t we all wish we had friends like Laura and Aaron (and Cheddar!!) to help us bring our landscapes from barren to beauty? I’m so enjoying the journey of your friends’ property! Thanks for bringing us along. Much love from New York. 💓
Well, we kinda do. Different kind of help, though.
@@YSLRD Good point!!
Right?!? Can she come to my house? Haha
I could use someone like Paul to help with projects.
@@jglakecity Amen!
I’m amazed at the amount of yard around these houses !
I love how she's listing all the plants in the truck and slips in "a cheddar" like he's one of the plants. Then realizes and says cheddar more shocked he was in there 😆 lol
I thought that was cute too. I'm sure she checks the loaded trucks from here on out!
It would've been funny if he stayed in the truck bed until she got to her friend's house!!😂
My 7 month old son and I watch you every morning during his first bottle of the day. He smiles when he sees you come on the screen. I think he might recognize your voice from when I was pregnant ☺️ Such a nice way to start the day.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ When you say you’re coming to plant, you aint kidding! Your friend is so lucky to have you. It all looks great. Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
I am sure Laura is getting paid for it.
@@1950steele Of course 🤷♀️ I’d pay her too!
To have a garden designed and planted by Laura…. How incredibly lucky and amazing that would be!
She should have a contest for her viewers! 😘
So I have officially bought and tried the Power Planter and my oh my Laura do you make that sucker look easy! We have a bit more rocky soil here in MA zone 5 but still it looks like you don’t even break a sweat and holy smokes is that tool a game changer in efficiency. My family has a landscape design/build firm and we were able to plant 40+ large shrubs in just over 6 hours! I’m also 5 months pregnant with my first and can I say you also made gardening in the heat while pregnant look easy too! Wishing you years of continued success, thank you for sharing your space with your YT family!
@Elena Lunn ~ wishing you much luck and congratulations through the rest of your pregnancy!!!🤰 Having a child is a MAGICAL game changer! You will be surprised and amazed by the STRONG and quick LOVE you will have for your child!!! No Love is as powerful as the Love a Mother feels for her child(ren).🤱
I can relate to your comment about the auger. I, too, purchased a power planter auger and gave it a whorl. I ran into lots of tree roots in my WI zone 4 soil. It takes a bit of finesse to use the drill/auger but it definitely is a time saver. Good luck with the new baby. Being a mother is the hardest but sweetest job I've ever held.
Laura, you are a walking encyclopedia! You do great work. Love seeing Cheddar as well. 🌸🌸🌹🌹🌻🌻
Button bush is native in North Texas which has high alkaline soils like you deal with. We also have very high temperatures all summer. This plant grows naturally along creek bottoms and I’ve even seen it growing out of limestone out cropping. It’s a tough as an old boot! I would think it would be a terrific plant for your region given enough water.
I’m in North Texas too, and love seeing it different and surprising places.
As noted in your comment, it’s native environment is in marshes and other wet areas. I am surprised it is doing well in high desert but happy it is as it is a beautiful plant.
The buttonbush (cephalanthus) is also native to the hot arid to semi-arid Central Valley in California which have similar temps to you in Eastern Oregon. So they can take the heat as long as they have water. They’re mostly found near streams, lakes, and marshes in California as well.
Hi Jeff, I live in Cleburne. Where do you buy Button bush??
Wow! What a beautiful planting of low maintenance perennial shrubs! Looks so great for a busy family to enjoy!
Great to have an update on the plantings done previously. I hope we can get an update after a couple years when things have filled in.
Lol that was soooo funny that Cheddar popped out of the pots 😂❤
Good morning GA friends!! Love all the shrubs Laura and look forward to seeing updates at your friends house!! 🌳🌳🌳
Good morning! Here in my 7b zone I finally got a chance to weed my front garden early this morning and to plant my last supertunias . I love to listen to one of your maintenance videos while I work. 😊 My favorite is when you and your Mom tried to back the truck up..still makes me laugh while I work and it makes weeding time fly 😊. Thanks for the company!
I love watching the layering process! You're building a beautiful landscape for them!
The whole time you were looking at trees I was screaming “SERVICEBERRY!!!” in my head 😅 It’s going to be just gorgeous right there, perfect size, structure, & multi-season interest.
The large area under the windows by the back patio would be perfect for an inground water feature. You'd be able to hear the water from the patio and would not block that amazing view from the windows.
I was thinking a fountain like they just installed at there house so you can enjoy it while on the patio and see it integrated into the view from inside the house.
I can't wait to see next year. I think it's going to be gorgeous
It’s amazing to me how even a house as beautiful as this one looks so blah and bland until you have proper landscaping around it. Well done y’all!
I absolutely love the waving curb around this house. What a great feature to work with ! Love your videos !
What a difference fine landscaping makes to a property. It already looks so much better-I can imagine how it will be in 5 years. They are lucky to have your friendship and thoughtful and knowledgeable planning.
How you can do all of that planting without putting your hair up in the heat amazes me!! Its the first thing I have to do. Everthing looks amazing!
The building of this landscape has been wonderful to watch. Thank you for showing the thought process to build such gorgeous views.
The area with the low window height around 15:39 would the home owner like a modern water fountain as you could see from inside and listen to the water from the seating area . You can get some lovely round shapes made of stone .
Good morning Laura and Aaron. Your friends garden is definitely going to be a show stopper. They are truly blest and I can see the joy you get from planting such a great space for them. Thanks for the video this morning. Hugs from N.C..❤️
I have a feeling that they are probably compensated for landscaping their property. If not, they should be!
Cheddar! Felines are hilarious! I love that they feel like they are a part of your projects. :-)
Good morning, Laura and Aaron, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b USA 🇺🇸
I love this house and setting.
You may be following the landscape architect's plan, but you are adding your special touches to it. You are taking it from functional to fabulous 👌
I hope you will visit them each season so we can enjoy the development 🌿💚🌿
Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍 💓
I’m really impressed with your comment,if you don’t mind friendship please were are you from
Coming together! Front door needs your amazing flower pots! Hint….everything is going to come together and look amazing! Good job you guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We all say and think the same thing when watching these updates... "Wouldn't it be incredible to have Aaron and Laura as close friends who help you with your landscaping!" Ahh, how blessed your friends truly are.. 💖
I just wanna say Thanks! I love watching your videos and look forward to new ones all the time. I've got my husband hooked as well!
That’s a lot of planting and it’s going to be beautiful when everything takes off:) their home is beautiful:) tfs God Bless:)
I would LOVE an update on this.
Looks great! Would be nice to do a little walk through of what it looks now. :)
I’d love to see an update! I bet it is beautiful
How this lady looks so pretty gardening is a mystery! Hair and outfits are always on point.
You were talking about the time of the Day you post your wonderful videos...here in Montreal...eastern canada..It's perfect for the café latte time..7AM... MERCI BEAUCOUP !!!!! ☕🥐
I love to watch this property evolve. It has given me some great ideas for when I start redoing one of our side yards next year. Have a fantastic day!!!
Where can I get my hands on a Cheddar plant?!
😸
🤣🤣
Any shelter or Facebook rehomes. Or.. you could wait for a mouse sized one to squeeze through the pipe hole under the sink (my Wee Willie Winkie). 😉
Laura those rocks sure look good in your friends yard. When are you going to put some in your garden????
How you interact with Cheddar is adorable.
Laura,
.....& we have this bush...& that bush...&..a Cheddar! Really made me laugh--was still smiling over it @ the end of the video! 😊
Girl, you are some kind of whirling dervish! What a beautiful job you’ve done for your friend’s lovely home. In years to come it will be a real showplace!
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day
I’ve wanted to ask about this project, so glad to see an update. Absolutely looking fantastic! Thank y’all for going out in the heat for these videos. 🌸🌳🌞
Going to be Gorgeous can’t wait to see it in years to come, love y’all work, I wish you could come to my home lol
Y’all have a great day 😍
Amazing how much land these homes have around them.
I have loved seeing all of your progress at this house. I hope you will keep us updated even over the next few years so we can see all of the growth and change.
Good morning! 😊
Good morning. It's looking very lovely! If it were my house I would want roses under that bank of windows. Especially ones that make beautiful rose hips in winter.
Oh how great would it be to have Laura and Aaron do my yard! 😁
My goodness, you are such a hard working team!!
Your friend is very blessed to have you in their lives! The yard is looking AMAZING!
Here in UK it’s midday lunch time love watching while I have my lunch !
Whenever I see you planting in new gardens or less established spaces I always think you're in your element :) I think you would have been a great designer :)
I can't help but notice the concrete edging - it seems similar to what you had to remove on your property. I think you even mentioned that it's very common in your area. Although it was a beast to remove, maybe edging is what the previous owners had in mind when they put it in? Just a thought!
Id love to see this now. A year later and see the growth.
I love getting all the deets of these plant varieties...its so informational and I just soooo appreciate the knowledge! You make learning about plants quite fun. I wish I paid more attention to plant tags in my first gardens at previous homes...but never too late to learn!
First year they sleep, second year they creep, and third year they leap is what I’ve heard about growth of perennials. Helps me remember to be patient.
Hello Laura and Aaron! My husband and I built our retirement home a few years ago and have a 3rd summer garden in place so the gardening is intensive. Though still in our 50's I wanted to plan ahead for our senior years and have only planted things that are not pruned or are pruned 1 -2 times a season due to thinking of the long term maintenance requirements. Also doing my best to use ground cover to reduce need for mulch over time. I would love if you would take the time to make some videos (maybe for your slow winter season ) that suggest plants with lower maintenance or at least explain the amount of maintenance expected for certain popular plants. Though still an active gardener, the amount of physical labor I could expend at 30 vs. mid 50's is significant yet I want to garden. Thank you again for all you do. My 1/3 acre lot is so much more amazing than it would have been without your influence! If you ever open your garden for a tour, I am flying to Oregon!
You are really being smart in planning a landscape for less work later. I am now 78 and am losing control of my garden because my body just won't work as well and I tire out quickly. So sad
Beautiful home (say's this gal living in the hood in Southern AZ)...BUT, it makes me appreciate your home even more. I personally prefer the older homes, they have so much more charm. Great work with their garden :)
@Eury ~ 👋🌵 Hello fellow Arizonan! 🙋🏼♀️
@@kimberleyfrasquillo3684 Hello neighbor!! 😊😊😊

Hi Laura and Aaron! Your friends place is coming along nicely. Thank you so much for sharing!
Good Morning!🌞🌻 Your Friend's landscape is looking great, it has come a long way from the blank slate you had when you began this project! 😃👍🌹💚🌿
That pink service berry is beautiful.
I get so much enjoyment and knowledge from watching you 🥰
Love “our” morning time every day, Laura & Aaron! Quick question. What does a “false” plant mean? 😁
The false spirea has blooms that resemble spirea, but it’s a different shrub altogether.
@@denisedorsey2889 But apparently not one worthy of its own name. LOL!
Laura you are doing an amazing landscape design for this home. Cannot wait to see how It matures!
Laura you are a proven winner yourself. You are amazing. God bless
I'm loving this project and watching the progress on your friends' house. It looks great and very informative! Whoever edits the videos does an amazing job. Prayers to your mom 🙏🏻
