Deffo suggest setting up a emergency pet fund as well bc those vet bills come out of nowhere and throw us for a loop. - maybe take 50£ from driving and save up a thousand to start with (that’s how much it cost for our cat 2yrs ago at the vet for emergency treatment)

🧡 allowing a 100 a week may sound like a lot but considering they were spending on average 350 a week is should be a easy transition. Eating at home foes really save money. However , if the person is not used to or knows how to cook getting pre-made food market foods are a great option for a while.
I think this is a great first budget.

🧡 I'd cut my hobby fund down and class it as a personal spend, taking it away from my weekly spending money, adding the extra to my debt snowball bc every little helps 😊

Yay another Vlogmas 🎉 - Ira, you’re in your ✨orange✨era and I’m living for it 😂🙈
I absolutely agree with the budget, I might do less towards driving lessons to get that debt gone a little faster and if it were me I’d cut spending down to £50 a week - of course going from £1k to £50 will be hard for them - but that’s what I’d do and put the rest towards debt.
Another amazing video - 🧡 can’t wait to see what tomorrows video brings. I love those Ira dice bags. I’m determined to get all of the advents next year, already made a binder envelop specifically for it for next year haha 🤣

🧡 It was a good thing I already had the different dice from buying the 4.5K challenge, because my son took one look at the dice from the advent calendar and anounced he was taking them! He at first couldn't believe how much I spent on the 24day and 12day calendars with shipping (to USA) but has since admitted it has been worth it. As soon as Christmas is over I'll be starting saving for next years advent calendars! 🧡🧡

🧡 I like your take. Every time I watch these I take what you show others and try to apply it to my situation. I might just have to sit down and submit my information to get your take.

Tbh if they live in London there is no need to drive, plus at present they can’t afford to buy, own and run a car with all of that debt and no emergency fund. Until those debts are severely reduced and the spending under control, I’d park (pardon the pun) the driving lessons and work on learning to be intentional with your spending.

£17k loan I wonder if it’s a student loan maybe? Sound a lot and think sticking to your plan will get them debt free quickly! I think £100 a week is decent esp for London , I wouldn’t reduce that further as 2 years still a long time to live so need to have some money to have fun along the way! Good luck!

Great video. I like how you cut down the expenditures of the Budget Bestie. You were nicer than me, because I would take away a lot of their extras. Also, since they are in so much debt, I would reduce the Emergency Fund to 150-200 so that extra could go to pay off debt quicker. Then when debt is paid off, I would play a little "catch up."🧡🧡

🧡Ever since I dropped 16k in debt yrs ago, I've made it my life mission to avoid debt like the plague. Glad to say I've been successful in that to this point, thank goodness. It's easy to let high earnings seduce you into making questionable choices when you're young and think you have more time to make up for it than you actually do. We in America call it 'lifestyle creep'. More money without self-discipline can get you in a financial hole real quick, and it takes longer to get out than in. Hopefully this person will take counsel and save themselves from some future pain.
