In this period it was considered important to ask celebrities personal questions for TV. And to antagonize them and getting reactions. I remember the times when I was a kid. I dont know why there was value placed upon this bad behaviour. And the media companies were never blamed because they thought they were judge jury and executioner. This whole interview makes me feel like I'm watching an innocent kid being interrogated by the school principal. We wonder why the poor girl had a breakdown? I remember when this first aired, I was like 9 years old, and my mom watched it and then told me that Britney Spears is a bad influence etc. I'm sure lots of kids got that spiel. I'm grown up now and in my mid-20s, and looking back at everything this woman went through and what she put up with, I'm amazed she survived it and has really managed to climb back up the ladder. To be fair to people's parents, they probably didn't want their kids dressing too 'sexy' before their time and britney being so popular at the time, she did unintentionally encourage that in a lot of kids. Add to that the media sensationalizing everything britney said and did and people were worried about her influence. I actually think she's a wonderful role model in terms of how generous she's been and how graciously she's spoken of other people in the industry, even if they've hurt her. She's also very humble, very open, honest and diplomatic in the face of some very hard questioning here and in some other interviews, and she was hard-working and would perform with her whole heart.

This made me so sad to watch. I remember thinking how inappropriate it was even back then. She really carried herself well and took all the jabs with class. What strikes me the most is how "normal" she was. I had forgotten. I really wonder if something specific triggered her illness or if it was just a progression that was inevitable in her life. This interview has always been hard to watch. Could you imagine giving an interview with a broken heart and discuss it? I feel like this was the turning point in her life. I think a part of her will always love Justin and no man will ever fill his shoes.

Why do people keep saying the part when she cries is "creepy" or that she is "bipolar"? I felt really bad for her when she started crying. All she was trying to do was keep it together and that is why she reacted that way when she knew she couldn't hold her emotions back. This whole interview makes me feel like I'm watching an innocent kid being interrogated by the school principal. We wonder why the poor girl had a breakdown? I remember when this first aired, I was like 9 years old, and my mom watched it and then told me that Britney Spears is a bad influence etc. I'm sure lots of kids got that spiel. I'm grown up now and in my mid-20s, and looking back at everything this woman went through and what she put up with, I'm amazed she survived it and has really managed to climb back up the ladder. I never thought at 9 years old that someone that was a "bad influence' would be a sort of inspirational figure for me as an adult.

To be fair to people's parents, they probably didn't want their kids dressing too 'sexy' before their time and britney being so popular at the time, she did unintentionally encourage that in a lot of kids. Add to that the media sensationalizing everything britney said and did and people were worried about her influence. I actually think she's a wonderful role model in terms of how generous she's been and how graciously she's spoken of other people in the industry, even if they've hurt her. She's also very humble, very open, honest and diplomatic in the face of some very hard questioning here and in some other interviews, and she was hard-working and would perform with her whole heart.

I started crying the moment Britney did. Celebrities are human like everyone else, and to have this exposure at a time when privacy would be appreciated is heartbreaking. It's hard to imagine, despite the money and the fame, just how hard it must be to always have the cameras rolling on you.

I don't even think he brought it up at all, for all we know the radio hosts likely mentioned it and asked him about having sex with her. Honestly, he should say 'it's none of your business.' or something like that, he didn't have to laugh like 'wow, they really like to know, huh?' and then give them the answer they wanted. JT was clearly not thinking that answer through once he laughed and then said 'yeah'.

She hadn't dealt with any of her issues yet, so why she was pushed to talk about such personal experiences on camera was literally just their way of exploiting her emotions in a vulnerable position. In normal interviews, anyone in a right state of mind can control/hide what they're feeling and what they share. This interview was crossing so many lines. She even asked several times to change the topic or to stop, and no one did anything.
It's hard to throw stones at Britney... She is just so humble. And by the way she speaks, she knows how to own her fault.

I feel like Brittany had so many different voices telling her what to do and how to live from her family and the industry but very little was actually sold truth and most of it was from a selfish standpoint, they all looked like they cared about her but really it was all about them and she just got confused. Honestly regardless of what she did (not that I'm justifying it, I don't even know what happened) I still feel so bad for Britney. I'm still mad that her mother put her in show business from the moment she could walk and tumble, and I'm mad at the world for magnifying her every mistake, weakness, and human moment. I know some may say "Well that's what you get if you sign up to be a celebrity" but that's bullcrap. Being a celebrity doesn't give us, the public, a free pass at being bullies. This made me so sad to watch. I remember thinking how inappropriate it was even back then. She really carried herself well and took all the jabs with class. What strikes me the most is how "normal" she was. I had forgotten. I really wonder if something specific triggered her illness or if it was just a progression that was inevitable in her life. Either way, it breaks my heart that she seemed like such a kind hearted person and they destroyed her.

Why do people keep saying the part when she cries is "creepy" or that she is "bipolar"? I felt really bad for her when she started crying. All she was trying to do was keep it together and that is why she reacted that way when she knew she couldn't hold her emotions back. She was embarrassed to cry in the middle of an interview...try putting on a brave face for so long,at such a young age, and with everyone judging your every move.
