hey yb, thanks for bringing something positive amidst everything happening right now. all the love ❤
thank you for watching! 🥰
Keep up the good work, YB!
Love you bringing attention to this cause for Puerto Rico. sending much love and prayers during this time for you and the try fam ❤
thank you 💕
It is so wonderful that you introduce us to so many different foods from different cultures! I can tell you do your research to try to educate us on all of it as best as you can :) And I think everyone appreciates that you are trying your best with the pronunciation of the names! It can be tough when it's in a language you're not fluent in, but the important part is that you try, that's the only way you can improve 😁
thank you 🥰
100% orgullosamente boricua. Thank you for showing love to PR
Thank you for raising awarness for my fellow boricuas and beautiful island ❤🙏🏽
hope you and your family and friends are doing okay ❤
These videos always give me inspiration for new cuisine to look for recipes for to cook and try! Love the attention you're bringing to help Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
Love for the try fam 💜 💕 ❤
thank you 🥰
Im so glad y’all trying Puerto Rican food 🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷🇵🇷
Oh yum YB! Such a great video! Hope you and Herbert are well and wishing you such a great rest of your week! ❤
thank you 🥰
Thank you for helping spread awareness about the situation here. Its been a month and some still have no power.
Yall need to go p.r and eat food from there ❤️
pasteles are the best thing we puerto ricans invented. what youre tasting is the PEAK of plantain thats why it's deliciousssssss.
YB!! Thank you for the cultural love!! I am Puerto Rican and I must give you all the kudos in the world for your pronunciations of the dishes. If you ever have mofongo again, try mofongo con camarones al ajillo (mofongo with shrimp garlic sauce). It is my absolute favorite way to eat mofongo. Another appetizer you should try is a sorullo. Sorullo is a cornmeal fritter that is filled with cheese.
yum!!
Very thoughtful comment at the beginning ❤ I definitely need to try Puerto Rican food, everything looks so good 🤤
it's so yummy!!
Love this video, please give Colombian food a try! Also thank you for mentioning PR, they need all the help they can get after that hurricane
YES though idk how widely available it is in LA. All the Colombians left the bay area 😔 there's only one place left here
@@Topaz_Estrella really? :( I'll try to find some in LA!
@@YBChangOfficial 😲 you responded!! Just wanted to say we're here to support you and you are an incredibly talented editor. Sending hugs.
Thanks for trying my culture food !!!! I’m glad y’all liked it
If you try other types of mofongo you might like them more
You should try flan de coco if you like coconut! Traditional flan de queso with no cheesecake stuff is typically better tbh.Love the fact that you tried something new 👏🏻
I like coconut!!
Herbert when he notices the second sauce was like " and this is why I love YB!"
Food looks yum and the educational info is great.
I'm sure you could find a restaurant with food from El Salvador. You may like it.
Love you YB !! ❤
love you too 💕
This video is great! Normally we eat the pasteles with the main dish as a side dish. It’s not quite an appetizer although I’m sure some people eat it alone
I’m from Puerto Rico And not all Puerto Ricans cook the same some put less Ingredients to increase the profit.
YB is the best🧡🧡🧡
Just started following and I’m Puerto Rican - you made such a beautifully curated and carefully considered video! Thank you so much ❤ hope you enjoyed and come visit soon 😊
P.S. double L’s sound a bit like “y” or “j”. So it would be pastel-iyo. Just sharing for info, you did wonderfully!
Thank you 🙏
YB please please please try colombian food!! Trust me you will not regret it
Great tasting food. ❤️👍❤️👍❤️
9:36 the best moment in the whole video 🤣🤣🤣👌👏❤️ he wants to make another joke sooo bad 😅❤️👏
🤣🤣
we love you guys...your awesome and keep up the great content
thank you 🥰
You could try Italian food ! Would love to see that :)
yesssss but not that olive garden's shit lmao real italian food please, if you're able to find it in LA
@@gix9461 haha YES
I love that you happy clap for good food too YB! 😂
😂😂
❤
Love you YB
love you too!!
Try somali food 😋
As a Puerto Rican I really love see people from different countries and ethnicities try and enjoy our food ❤️🇵🇷 thanks a lot ! BLESSINGS
Puertorican food really isn’t the same outside of Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷❤
TRUE
Im Puerto Rican and i wanna say thank you for the support and love. My family is going through a lot right now in Puerto Rico and it means a lot that you shared the situation on your platform. Again, thank you for the love. Que viva P FKN R.
This is awesome! As a Puerto Rican, I'm always very happy when people try our food and read about our culture. Your pronunciations were great! If you ever try pasteles again, try them with ketchup! Some Puerto Ricans swear by it and others think it ruins the dish, but it's really a matter of taste. :) And... I also find that mofongo can be dry sometimes. 😂
I'll try that!! 🥰
You know, i find mofongo so dry too! I thought maybe it was the place i get it from lol
ketchup🛐
@@crystalserlin5080 I'm Dominican so maybe it's just that, but we usually eat our mofongo with a type of sauce (usually from some braised meat) and it helps with the dryness.
@@This_is_Bambii al ajillo o con mojo isleño
Love you for bringing attention to our island. Thank You for your support!
I hope everything is okay! 💕
@@YBChangOfficial we are struggling with the restoration of electric power, a thing that shouldn’t be happening. In my case we are fine, trying to help with what we can. 💕
LAS ALCAPURRIAS ARE SUPOSSE TO BE CRUNCKY ON THE OUTSIDE SOFT IN THE INSIDE BUT THAT IS WHEN THEY ARE JUST BEEN FRIED ONCE THE COOL OFF THEY GET SOFT, I AS PUERTORRIQUEN LIKE THEM CRUNCKY.AND THE ARE MADE OF GREEN BANANAS. AND THERE ARE MORE DIFFERENT FOOD YOU DIDNOT TRY, COME ONE DAY TO PUERTORICO SO YOU COULD TRY THE REST.
She understood the assignment. You dip EVERYTHING in mayoketchup when eating Puerto Rican appetizers❤
No. That's new. We don't use to do that.
Just here to send a message of support to you YB! Sorry that you have been dragged by ignorant people that have no idea how hard you work to create great content. Times may be hard now but there is light on the other side and many of us will be here to keep watching the cool things you do!! Keep your head up!!
thank you 🥰
@@YBChangOfficial try Soul Food or African Food ( Nigerian)❤
Hearing YB and Herbert pronounce everything made me realize how she must feel watching people talk about Korean dishes. Happy you enjoyed our comfort foods! This brought back some good memories.
haha it's okay, Korean is hard!!
"Everybody has dumplings," I think about this in terms of empanadas, meat pies, Haitian pate, and Jamaican patties. I really do hope you guys find a nice Haitian spot. and I love that you gave some background, not just on the cuisine but the cultures and flavor pallets that have affected that region. Haiti has such a significant influence from the west African roots, the Spanish occupation, and then the French. but since you're in L.A. you're getting a new side to Haitian food which is the Mexican influence do on the displaced Haitians that have come to L.A. after having been refugees from the past tropical storms years ago. and if you've ever been to Spain you really know the difference between Spanish food and Mexican food. also, that seasoning joke is so clever I have to steal that for when I see someone eating something out of season!!! " how are you gonna eat those strawberries without proper seasoning!?" that's inside joke GOLD
I would love to try!! and hahaha
Your pronunciations were great! So glad you enjoyed Boricua cuisine 🥰 And you even tried pasteles! Thanks for sharing info about the hurricane as well. Much love!
thank you 🥰
I'm Puerto Rican and we don't really get the plain monfongo, we always get it with pork or shrimp
I really like that you include captions of the names of the foods- and reference back to them again, caption included, when you review your favorites! So helpful!! Such a fun thing to do together aa a couple!!!
I'm glad its helpful!! 🥰
The trick with Puerto Rican food is that not everyone cooks the same so the flavors can vary entirely different depending on how good the person cooks those traditional foods. It's like when visiting PR and people go to the worst restaurants in San Juan while you go out your way to small local towns and the food is amazing. Flan is good but it's very rich in flavor so maybe quesitos would be a better options because it's sweet but not overpowering sweet. Also tembleque which is made of coconut and it's more soothing.
Pasteles ❤️❤️❤️ during the Christmas season, we always had a bag of them in the freezer ready to cook. So good :) I’m glad you enjoyed our cuisine :)
YB thank you for bringing attention to the stuff happening in Puerto Rico!
also, as a Puerto Rican, I didn't know a lot of those facts about the food! i love this video 🥰
thank you for watching! 🥰
That was very supportive of you to put in links to help out others with the the recent hurricane. I hope that Floridians are doing okay with Hurricane Ian on its way! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Also, can u try out Argentinian or Peruvian food next🙏🏼
yessss peruvian food please!
so many hurricanes! :( I hope everyone is okay!
Such a wonderful way to support the Puerto Rico using your platform!
This is probably the most respectful and educational video of people trying Puerto Rican food, I find too many videos where they think it’s okay to trash or make fun of someone’s cuisine or even criticizing it by implying that it’s copying other Latin American food/cuisine. I was so happy to see you talking a little about the culture and its influences in its cuisine plus the pronunciation is really, really close!! The R’s can be a bit hard to pronounce lol either way amazing video and I’m so happy the algorithm did its good deed and recommended your video!!!!
yb: this could use more seasoning
herbert: fall, winter, spring
pls he's a keeper i'm so excited to see wedding pics when you guys get married (if you decide to post them, ofc)
LOL yes!
i’d love to see y’all do dominican food since it’s so similar! it’d be interesting to compare the two
yess!
YASSSS!!! 😍😍
Is not "similar" the DOMIS always try to copy the puertorrican foods those meals are 100% puertorricans dishes
Y’all should try bacalaítos sometime, they’re fried codfish fritters and are one of the most popular street foods in Puerto Rico!
I'm so glad you enjoyed our food! Hope you're doing ok given everything going on. This video made my day!!
thank you 🥰 I'm doing okay!
You are moving to a new house soon? :D Please keep us updated on that. I love moving vlogs and room tours and obviously all your mukbangs too :)
yes!! hehe vlog coming soon!
i love these videos the best, always new foods to explore which is fantastic (props for the hurricane mention). sorry about your workplace drama, hopefully you don't feel too much stress 😕.
thank you 🥰 I'm doing okay!
As a puertorican, thanks for trying our food! The majority of the dishes you've tried is planting based and majorly traditional (things we eat during the holidays). See if you can find some traditional and homemade coquito during Christmas, you'll love it!
We love you YB!! Don’t let anybody bring you down!! Stay resilient and classy as always ❤❤❤❤❤I support u 1000% & Ik Coming from a stranger it may not mean much but I seriously look up to u, ur absolutely gorgeous, smart and incredibly talented
thank you 🥰🥰
I am begging you. Please try Dutch food. I can help you with typical dishes like stampot, broodje knakworst, boterham met pindakaas, stroopwafels en haring
yes yes!! need to look for a restaurant
Thank you so much for raising awareness to what’s going on in Puerto Rico and highlighting our wonderful island
hope you're doing okay!💕
Try Persian food next 😊😋
Look super yummy ! Stay strong YB - I'm so mad I don't see your food network show streaming anymore - you worked on it too!! I'm just so angry and sad for you all
thank you 🥰 I'm doing okay!
I haven't even started watching the video, but this just made my day! Thank you so much for this video❤️
thank you for watching 🥰
Great video, sending you love during this difficult time. Try not to let the stress get to you 💜
thank you 💕
hi YB! thank you so much for the message in the beginning and for linking information. I have a lot of family in Puerto Rico right and hurricanes are really devastating. It means a lot! Also, so glad you both liked the food! Monfongo and pasteles are some of my all time favorites! And I also don’t love flan 😬😂
I hope they're doing okay :( what a bad month!!
and hahaha okay I'm not the only one 🤣
I LOVE THIS. Thank you for trying Puerto Rican food and sharing info about how to help everyone impacted by the hurricane. Appreciate you!!!! ❤ 😊
thank you for watching! 🥰
I'm glad you enjoyed our food! And I'm more surprised that there are more comments on eating pasteles with ketchup (which I personally don't like), and less about the usual argument of Patelillos vs Empanadillas (cause people online say pastelillos, but I've never actually met anyone here in PR who calls it like that 🤨) 😂😂😂
Hope you can try more of our food in the future! And thanks for bringing awareness for PR in the beginning!! ❤❤
it was so great!! thank you ❤❤
Pasteles: The dough consists of green banana, yautia, potato and pumpkins, and sometimes another vegetable.
It is seasoned with milk, sofrito, the liquid from the mixture of meat and annatto oil.
ngl I thought that “ad YB” was popping up to give us a drama update lmao… love you YB (&herbert!), keep being you!!
haha I wish I could 🥲
Thanks for the history before trying the food it was very interesting. The food also looked delicious!
I love learning about it too! 🥰
Next time,, come to PUERTO RICO,,, and taste the FOOD HERE!!!☺
You had two types of Puerto Rican Pasteles, one is made from Yuca which is the yellow one and the other is made with green bananas. Both are delicious. Cheers!❤
This has inspired me to try Puerto Rican food! Good job explaining the history and enjoying the food (and comparing the food tried to other Asian foods).
Congrats on your future new home too!! So excited to see what’s ahead for you both YB and Herbert!!
thank you!! 😍
Yess!!!!❤❤❤❤True business woman right here!! Thanks for posting hope you and Try Fam are finding peace.
thank you! 🥰
Love the SIBERIAN HUSKY.
Thank you so much for bringing attention to our beautiful island and getting hit by the hurricane! Big fan from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
hope you're doing okay!💕
@@YBChangOfficial thank you so much! The family is doing well and slowly things going back to normal! Also love the videos keep on the amazing content!
When ever my mom makes pastelillos for the parties these go QUICK 😂, thanks for shining a light on the beautiful island very dear to my heart ❤
omg I'd love to try homemade ones!!
That is true, every country has its own kind of dumplings and it's very interesting! And your pronunciation is not bad at all. It's so special that you two get to taste so many different foods together, it could seem not important but you're building such lovely memories together. Please cherish each other.
We love you! 🥰
thank you 🥰 we love you too!
I'm Vzlan and idk why the intro history of what influenced boricua cooking made me tear up and the little Puerto Rico map. So educational and so much effort put into this. Thank you so much YB. Have a wonderful day. 🥺😭
aww thank you for watching 🥺
Great video! While I am Italian, Spanish and Puerto Rican food are some of my favorite things to eat.
I love Italian food too!!
Please 🥺 try Pakistani food next. You will love it!!!
I'd love that!! 🥰
oh no i didnt know what was happening in puerto rico. praying for everyone's safety!
its so nice how you introduce us to so many new foods :) this was such a fun video!! every few seconds i wanted to come in the comments and say something 😆
aww thank you for watching! 🥰
I know he is saying his name is Herbert but I always hear "Her-Bear" like a pet name that he is just running with 😆🐻
🤣🤣
i hope you get to try peruvian food also. i'm interested to see what you and herbert (and maybe even louis) think of the roast chicken and if their ceviche has a similar/equivalent in korean (and german?) cuisine
I would love to!! :)
Im from Puerto Rico and thank you for putting word out there, it means a lot.
hope you're doing okay! 💕
I can't imagine how you are feeling amidst all of this. ❤️❤️❤️ u r my fav food baby
Your husky in the back 🥰❤️
🥰🥰
So happy to see you enjoy some of my personal favorites! Also looking forward to eating everything you just tried during the upcoming thanksgiving holiday with the fam :) As for cuisine suggestions- if there’s anything I love just as much as Puerto Rican food, it’s probably Ethiopian cuisine. I’m hoping there’s one near you because it’s definitely worth a try!
P.S. you rocked the pronunciation and made this Puerto Rican girl proud ❤️
the homemade version must be so amazing!! 😍😍
u two are so cute.. and Herberts "that what he said" attempts are hilarious
🤣🤣
Thank you for highlighting our foods.
Thank you.
Since my second home is Germany have you done German food..I love it. If you have can you tell me which of you videos it was.
I absolutely love your videos Yb ...You're so beautiful inside out 😘❤❤
thank you ❤
@@YBChangOfficial Hey YB I'd love to see you try Middle-eastern food with Herbert in one of your next videos ..Much love😘
I’m sorry you’ve been getting so much hate for something you weren’t even involved in. I just found your channel and I can’t wait to see more of your content
It's okay, I guess unavoidable in such a small company. thank you so much 🥰
There’s always a debate with puertoricans on empanadillas or pastelillo. Also eating pasteles by itself or with ketchup. Personally I say empanadilla and have most pasteles with ketchup loll
i gotta try it!! haha
I've been saying this but you gotta finally try sri lankan 🇱🇰 food already!! Reply to this if you need dish recommendations! :)
do they have any restaurants in LA?? :D
@@YBChangOfficial i live in europe but knowing the food culture in LA i can guarantee there must be atleast one good one somewhere in LA! :D
I've been watching your videos for a time now and I only noticed now that I'm not subscribed ughh love your personality
Loved this video, YB! I am now craving Puerto Rican food. 😍
