Daily driving a Mecool MK7 plus for over two years.
Everything runs as it should.
All certified 4k HDR 5.1 runs great. Kodi has no issues.
Passthrough everything even AAC. Uncompressed.

Not surprised the 400mbps test over USB 2.0 failed -given the port overheads etc this can easily drop to a more realistic 360mbps-ish Also depends on the speeds of the media the file was stored on (thumbdrive, hdd, ssd etc). Definitely needs a 3.0 port

So I'm in the UK and grabbed this. Can't install BBC iPlayer or ITVx as they aren't certified for this box. Also, would be good to see you testing auto refresh rate switching. Plex for instance on the shield works brilliantly with this but not so on this box.
Olá! Estou com a minha a uma semana, já entrei em contato com o suporte por causa do HDR, sim a km2plus deluxe tem suporte ao HDR. Tenho uma tv lg oled e a tv não reconhece o hdr da box,a tv não reconhecendo como hdr, não muda a imagem para hdr( perdendo gualidade na imagem).Você persebeu que quando ia em um video hdr a tua tv náo mostrou o simbolo hdr na tv? Segundo suporte me repassou estão vendo isso.

Excellent, comprehensive review as always, thank you Chigz. I’ve got a KM2Plus and this Deluxe version looks like a worthwhile upgrade especially with 4/32GB and Gigabit Ethernet. Shame about the lack of USB3.0. The only detractor for Mecool boxes is their poor firmware update support. If there are any firmware bugs, there’s little likelihood they’ll ever be fixed.
I like the look of this device. Amazon are making too many changes to Fire TV and I'm now looking for an alternative. Cheers pal 👍🏻
I bought the latest fire stick during Black Friday but thanks to YT I learned that they have made those changes so I took the opportunity to return it

@@pauldarby8398 that's right, the OS will change for future Firesticks and Cubes. But the Amazon are making other changes at present, such as heavy ad placements and restricting some 3rd party apps. Fortunately, I've been ok with the 3rd party (APK) apps for now, but I don't think the Fire products are going in the right direction.
@@pauldarby8398 I believe so I tried sideloading apps different ways with no results that's when I started searching tutorials on UA-cam and learned they have made changes so that you wouldn't be able to anymore

I think perhaps your device was running updates and the scheduler was running behind (high load) when this test was run. For one thing there's an OTA update and Leanback is also updating to Google TV in the background for certain as you were still on Leanback.
The device is okay but your tests make it seem almost mediocre.
Based on your test, which video streaming has the best quality?
it feels faster than a fire stick tv 4k max 2ng gen ? i bought one and i think its slow due to heavy fire os system.
Finally, a _proper good, full size remote._ All the others come with piddly toy ones, I don't like them.
I buy Onn tv box 2nd generation...really smooth performance...what i dont like is about onn tv box 2nd generation is have small storage only 8gb storage and 2gb ram😅

I have mecool km2 deluxe about 5 days. Having major issues in kodi with rd sources playback. Average 10gb files..if I f-fwd a show even just a few mins the km2 won't correct itself everytime...only sometimes. Audio/video out of sync.ive noticed even if it does correct..there's about 4 second lag before correction. My internet speeds are great..500 mbps+.
Can you do some streaming in kodi playback testing ans see how you fare...let us know.
The box auto updated when I plugged it in.
Other apps like stremio..netflix..cinema hd...no issues..working fine.

The Internet has nothing to do with Kodi. That's LAN so your router and switch speed and cable.
Also 10gb files? That makes no difference in playback. It's the bitrate.

Chigz...im curious why you gave the km2plus a 4.8...but the km2plus deluxe a 4.5?
The deluxe has many upgrades vs the km2 plus.
Ok i just saw the km2 plus has slightly higher antutu and why the plus has a 3.0 port but not the deluxe...wth were they thinking??
However..3.0 not important to me..im looking for a much smoother streaming experience. I have the new 4k max...its ok..but still laggy when you start moving around at times. And its having issues playing more than a few rd links properly..either no video or no audio. Only way to fix it is reboot the stick. Meanwhile my old h96 max android version 9 box plays the same files without issue.
Im hoping the km2 deluxe gives me best of both android and firestick worlds.

Personally i wouldn't touch mecool with a barge pole, bought one of mecool direct last year nothing but trouble with it and mecool wouldn't help or replace it.

as I'm Already using a Mecool KM2 which has a 3.0 Port I know
I can't connect my Gamepad's USB Reciever in USB 2.0 as the Voltage wouldn't be enough to give the Receiver Range
Why? What's the USB 3 gonna run? Even if it's a HDD, USB 2 can easily handle 4k HDR 5.1

Looks like cheaper Mecool KM2 Plus is better buy with a little less storage than KM2 Plus Deluxe. Right? And that white...yuk!🤢
And yet another total failure from mecool. The fact that there is no USB 3.0 port on a deluxe version is still acceptable, but the fact that they advertise that all formats are perfectly supported and run properly and then draw comparisons to Nvidia Shield TV (although I would like to point out at this point that nVidia does not offer any kind of service after the warranty has expired) is absolutely unacceptable in view of the fact that the formats are not functional. After some tests, which every user here is welcome to carry out themselves if they are in possession of the box, it does play Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision is also possible, but only in conjunction with Netflix, which means that Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision simply only work with Netflix and other streaming providers and not with UA-cam or videos from the hard disk. However, this is different with other providers that work accordingly, so be careful when shopping otherwise you will unfortunately be annoyed!
So what are the options? My Shield died, looking for a replacement 😢

!Attention! 😵😵😵Mecool new boxes do not have resetting button so in case of any error you going to have to buy another android box. I bough the previous version Mecool km2 plus but I did n't pay attention if this box have reset buttom or not and now I am stuck with it because I can't reset it. from now on if an android box do not have a reset buttom I wont buy it.
True I had this issue when I turned off too many google features. It stopped loading properly after that.
I emailed Mecool. After 24hr reply delay and some back and forth I just released it with with the files and hard to understand simple instructions they gave me. Once I figured it out I've had no issues. Daily drive over two years now.
