Great Documentary on Bourbon and Buffalo Trace called Neat: The Story of Bourbon. Freddy Johnson is the historian first hand and was a great tour guide as we were able to have him on a tour of BT. Great ways of how to drink bourbon and how it can change by how you drink it. Love the videos!
It is one of my favorite bottles. It was the first that someone shared with me, and I tried neat. It helped me start my bourbon rabbit hole journey. Price has gone up but I still feel it is worth it. but if it keeps going up, may soon be overpriced for me too. thanks for sharing. cheers
Eagle Rare has been my go to bourbon since I got into bourbon long ago. Now it is a sipper and my go to old fashion mixer and keep a few on hand. Price just went up to $36 usd (was $28 for a ling time) and could get it at my grocery store even though it is very hard to find in some parts of the US. I think you might like Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Around $55-$64 usd and barrel strength. A nice affordable sipper and mixer. So many bourbons are good but difficult to get here never mind overseas. Enjoy your channels
Definitely agree on the nanny state comment. It's ridiculous how much we pay for whiskey made in our own country because of tax. There should be a decrease in tax on alcohol made in Ireland, similar to what they do in Spain for their wine.
Some people say it is overrated but truly Eagle Rare is one of my favorite Bourbons and especially for the price. Trouble here in the state is it is very hard to find, it sells out the moment it hits the shelf in most states
Nice review John and by the way.....lovely workshop you have there. I've found my way into bourbon whiskey after many, many years and now as part of my single malt journey. Kicked off with Bulleit which I love and now looking for the next interesting Kentucky straight. Unfortunately over this side of The Irish Sea, the Eagle Rare is a tad expensive at over £49 so perhaps I'll be heading the Four Roses direction. Enjoy the rain - we're having the damp stuff over here too!
Hi John great job as usual love your give it a go and see approach I'm the same the kentucky bourbons like using animals in the names as in buffalo and Eagle I'd say I'd be flying after it alright 👍
Nice review. I haven’t tried the Eagle Rare yet, but you mentioned a higher rye bourbon, and I’m a fan of Woodford Reserve which is higher rye in the mashbill. Gets some “meh” responses from some of our American friends but I’m a fan and it’s findable in Ireland which helps. Worth checking out👍👍
I, a Kentuckian, approve of this message. Especially if he can get his hands on the Woodford double oaked. Bring a piece of dark chocolate to eat in between tastings. Mind-blowing experience.
@@thewhiskeyshed.4105 hi there again. Yes the Noah’s mill is a stunner. The company itself is quite unusual. The watersource runs through the distillery. Exceptional
Great pick. This is normally really good stuff. Difficult to come across, even here in Virginia (only 2 states away). I was able to pick up a bottle last Christmas. Btw. After visiting Ireland early March, I'm now hooked on 3 Swallows! Thanks for the review video.
Very hard to get ahold of this where I am in the states & a lot of other whiskeys really. I got lucky last year and caught the store just as they were restocking & had myself a bottle. Funny you say herbal tea at the end there, I gotta a taste of sweet iced tea on the after taste. We say swheat tayy in the south. All the best
One of my favorite bourbons. The demand and drastic price has been keeping me away from it. A bottle I would pay $30 for, is now going for $80 in New Jersey. 😥

Lovely dram to enjoy. Nice and informative video enhanced by the sound of rain…
Glad you enjoyed it

Great to hear the Whiskey Shed sharing good whiskey insights with a chorus of Irish raindrops in the background.
Glad you enjoyed it

I love it and so did everyone I shared it with
Excellent review of one of my favorite bourbons.
One of my all time favorite bottles. I currently have 4 special and distinctive barrel picks of Eagle Rare.
Lucky you! It's good stuff

My local Tesco (Gateshead) has it for £35 at full price and on occasion you can get it for £30 on offer. It's great at that price.

Sounds nice John, great description :)
Lovely whisky. If I can recommend one. The Noah’s mill. Puts the eagle rare which is great in the shadows.
Thanks for the tip!

3 Swallow is good, it's crazy that Eagle Rare is always available here and you find it hard to get

Great review, greetings from Virginia, subbed!
John suggest you review some Canadian whiskys.
Will do
It is delish! Tastes incredible with diet cherry coke, due to the spice.
Great review thank you... Pity about some whiskey prices. It's enough to drive a man to drink!
Couldn't agree more
Would be interesting to see/hear how this compares to Blue Spot!
If I could get my hands on Blue Spot I would have reviewed it already
Have 15 on backstock at 30-35 each. I feel it’s going to be like eh taylor soon. Super hard to find, and going for $100+ secondary
Wow, its readily available in Ireland but then again some Irish whiskies are easier to find in the States
you got a link for those drinking glasses
Search for the Túath Irish Whiskey Glass
@@thewhiskeyshed.4105 thanks my friend from Chicago.👍
I hope you are not gone for good. How about a brief update on what you have been doing and when you will be producing videos again.

80 bucks, wow I thought things were bad here!
If can get a bottle of Old Forrester 1920… it’s a great bourbon for the price
I'll keep an eye out for a bottle
1910 is even smoother
@@blakestuart4748 I’ll give it try this weekend. Thank you
@@slowbrew3074 lmk what you think
@@slowbrew3074 it also gets sweeter and smoother the more you let it sit in the bottle after opening. It isn’t that great on first opening. Trust me
Hey John. Isn’t it about time you get off your arss and start making some whishey videos. I miss them.
