Dont waste your time on this.. He gave you pretty stupid advice with trying to sharpen it on Alox stones.. Its just making fatigue edge cause abrasives in that stone cant cut carbide inside that steel. Maximum what im willing to sharpen on synthetic water stones is s30v perhaps m390 and even that takes an hour but maxamet, k390, A11 etc is just dumb beyond believe to try.. Get a f*cking Venev set for 150$ and it will be done within minutes and properly..
Listen, dont waste your time and effort using such crap stones on Maxamet🙏 Im total expert on tool steels and you will never get really fine edge on it with Alox stones.. Buy Venev resin bond stones for freaking 150$ and that knife will be like razor in matter of minutes.. Alox stones cant cut carbides in the steel, instead you are just shaping the matrix around it.. I dont get it
