Recently got married and had a baby too, if I remember right!
I knew someone who tried out for American Idol. According to him, what they did was line people up in batches who then sang at the first judges (who narrow it down for the celeb judges) at the same time. They (the judges) would then point and be like "you, you and you, everyone else thanks for coming." The parameters seemed to be decent enough and able to be heard through the noise or the odd ones for the first episodes.
4:23 that question reminds me of the American Idol with the girl who had the twin friends who told her she sounded amazing even though they knew she was terrible just to convince her to try out as a prank. She was so confused when the judges said no she asked if it was "opposite day?"

Your suspicions about about the audience reactions being cut from somewhere else and pasted into wherever are likely correct - some years back I was a BGT audience member, and in between takes a member of the crew came on as the cameras were still rolling and told us to boo and shout off off off at nothing… I just sat there. They also did the same thing with the judges and told them to say things like ‘brilliant’ and ‘you’ve got what it takes’ to nobody, just so they could capture the footage. Reality TV is so false.
It seems so fun to be with you guys👍.

People who sing off key have no idea they’re doing so. It’s a weird auditory disconnect. Those who can sing have to concentrate very hard to sing badly on purpose believe it or not.
Too many people confuse loud with good on top of just no training in it at all, even choir

Most of these people only sound bad because their voices haven't been tampered with in a studio.
I love to sing but I'm very aware that by no means I have a singing voice and do so only in my four walls with music covering my dreadful voice so my neighbors won't hear me 😂😂 How those people are not aware they can't sing is beyond me

wanna know the irony and a bit of hypocrisy from these shows ? is the fact that a ton of musicians before and nowadays sing just like these people, with the same voice tunes and yet these people get humiliates on tv. yes, most of them have rude attitudes but have you heard rappers ? they just spew mumbles that no one knows what they're saying and it's called music and make them millions. lol.
Indeed and that’s not true, you can find the lyrics if you can’t understand, but true overall… that’s why so many went for independent labels or self-publishing, because this is a trap no one should fall for with their contract prisons and power over the artists and such

7:07 I haven’t watched much X Factor but surely the people that appear on the show like this must be actors right? It just seemed very over exaggerated and I highly doubt any regular person would act like that during an audition…
I highly doubt they were actors because they have a sign a waiver just appear on TV

I swear these types of shows just pay college theater actors a hundred bucks to act a fool for ratings mixing with actual performers. Would be a bit boring if not sprinkled with these people.
