  • My sister got quoted $3,000 to have this job done at les Schwab so I did it for $500 in parts and was able to save her $2500 bucks!
In this video myself and two friends are installing new struts, lower controls arms, and lower ball joints on my sisters 1998 Toyota Camry. All the parts came from 1AAuto and were branded TRQ. They seem to be decent quality and we’re very affordable so that’s always a win! I would recommend 1AAuto for someone that doesn’t need to soak a bunch of money into their car.
This isn’t meant to be a “how to video” but more just bringing you guys along for the job and showing the fun that can be had while working.

Impact drivers make all those type of work so much easier and quicker. First time I did this type of stuff, I only had hand tools

A little tip I was given is to use a camber gauge to set as a reference before you remove the carrier from the strut. Use that reference for when you fit the new strut and the wheel camber should be pretty good and certainly good enough until the alignment gets checked and adjusted

I believe Toyota sourced shocks from KYB from the 2nd-4th gen Camry. Tokico and Bilstein for the trucks, but I might try KYBs on mine

If I look at the spare parts, they are still the same as the 2004 Camry. Success👍

My 2000 Camry has 456 K miles on her and I just recently had her second set of front struts and the third or fourth set of rear struts. I've owned my car since I was 20 years old Back in 10/99. All of those miles have been almost 100% trouble-free. Even the AC still blows cold and I've never added anything and I've never serviced it. I guess living in a cool climate like Miami Beach it's whole lihelps to contribute to its long life? When I first bought my car I was a sophomore in college and all of my friends made fun of me for buying such a blend and vanilla car but but 4 of those same friends all purchased new Camrys Once or twice in their lives. Biggest mechanical mechanical component with this fourth generation Camry is its owners especially when the cars start to get on their third and fourth owners. By then the assholes just drive the car Until one of the idiot lights on the - come up or something eventually falls off. I saw one lady drive hdrive her 99 Camry into the shop on 2 very bald evolve donut donut spares theirs which is odd because the Camry has always come with full size spare tires and not doughnuts but somehow this bitch you know the same type who probably has a chirping smoke detector that's gone on in our house for years A blue out the full size spare and only stopped for repairs after she was given a ticket by the city of Fort Lauderdale for driving an unsafe vehicle. She also had a headlight out and 2 of the 5 brake lights we're Also non-functional. She had a trunk full of designer purses and expensive choose in the trunk but hadn't changed her oil in almost 12000 miles. That stuck out to me because I remember not only the car but the Sears auto center manager telling her that she could not drop the car off with all that expensive stuff in the trunk. Silly little Jorge must have thought those bags and shwe're real 🙄

Good video. But ya right. That Camry will last way longer and go way further than a Ford or any American made vehicle. I've put mine through hell and I would have bought 4 fords by now. I've owned both and trust me. Toyota is leaps and bounds ahead of Ford.

😂😂😂😂 Ford got more recalls now then ever. 50 thousand dollar trucks they can't even match correct lights. If didn't use Toyota parts it drive so so
I got two Fords and Toyota and Honda last
