The man that was killed unnessairly in his home at 6 am could have been visited by a couple people during the day and asked about the guns. The man was an upstanding citizen.

I'm terrified of these guys and I'm a 74-year-old retired nurse who is now homebound and I've seen so much police and criminal violence, I won't answer the door unless someone yells out: "we've got a warrant". I only have a speeding ticket 50 yrs ago, but I do post comments in alignment with community use rules. Something has to be done about these types of crimes against law abiding citizens.

Do we know if the ATF has body cameras but are saying they didn’t use them that morning? Or, if they had never bought and imployed them at all? Because, if they had adopted their use, but are merely saying they did not have them that morning, that is highly suspicious.
They had the option to wear them and they chose not to wear them. That was an active decision by the ATF and is just another point of Circumstantial evidence that this raid was designed to be a warning to all citizens who own sell or deal (legally) in guns. Arkansas needs to raid all the offices of the ATF in that state to obtain evidence of nefarious intent. This was a state crime carried out by Federal Officers.

I have a problem with a blanket provision of support for police. I think that we have entered a dangerous place with the police culture.
Why did the ATF carry off this raid without any pushback by the police? There were other agencies involved in this raid, and there was ZERO pushback.
Why is that? It is because of the police culture. Their ethos is that the Officer or the agency who starts the investigation is merely followed and supported without any questions and without any pushback.
The story of people, sometimes innocent, being killed in these raids is unacceptable. This is a PRIME EXAMPLE. Two officers could have taken him into custody, willingly, at his airport. They were investigating him and you said that they had a tracker on his vehicle. They KNEW that he had a regular schedule. They also should have been able to predict that a raid MIGHT be opposed before their identities had been established, and in fact, I believe that there is circumstantial evidence that the technique could have been tailored for the response and the gigantic fear factor introduced to not only the gun collector culture, but also the gun dealer culture.
Why did none of the involved agencies ask any questions? Why was the ATF ALLOWED to carry on this raid by the other police agencies involved. I only have my common sense engaged, but here you have a community leader. There was no evidence of nefarious or corrupt actions. There was no indication that this subject was dangerous, or even a liar! Just on the surface of this, there was no justification for the raid to start with. The lack of body cameras? Just more circumstantial evidence of nefarious motivations. Transparency was not just forgotten, it was deliberately AVOIDED. And yet, the other agencies said nothing.
An Arkansas Agency should have stood up and protected these citizens. This is an absolute travesty, but that travesty does not just stick to the ATF, but all the police who know of this raid carry responsibility for not GOING DIRECTLY TO THIS DIRECTOR AND TAKING HIM TO THE ATF. If that action is too bold, the agencies should have told the ATF NO! They should have questioned the motivation for an ill planned raid and if need be, placed the ATF Agents under detainment until less dangerous investigative and detainment efforts were taken by the LOCAL AGENCY. Again, police culture is to obey and support instead of INDEPENDENTLY VERIFY the necessity of tactics. I applaud and support any officer who steps in and takes positive control of any situation being led by a hothead officer. In the same manner, AGENCIES need to be expected and required to step in and take control of any rogue AGENCY.
I fully support police who are doing their proper job and are serving and protecting the lives and the Constitutional Rights of the innocent. This director was innocent and all the agencies involved in this travesty need to stand to account. The ATF for planning an apparent attempt to warn the public, and the Arkansas agencies that allowed them to proceed unopposed.
Next to Ukraine, the US has the most corrupt gov't in the world. It's become blatantly obvious, over the past several years, even to those who previously refused to open their eyes to reality. We still have far too many who are totally indoctrinated by the CCP Professors who've infiltrated our schools and Universities over the past 35+ years, but at least many others have begun awakening to reality. It's time these corrupt gov't officials be held accountable!

Federal criminal codes are duplicative and often constitute double jeopardy. ATF - no prohibition so state alcohol are sufficient; tobacco - smoking is virtually banned every place but your home - no need here; firearms - since the SC have reaffirmed our 2nd A rights and ATF appears to only target law abiding citizens and does little to nothing in getting arms out of the hands of criminals and terrorists - no need for ATF.

My nephew was a police officer for 35 yrs. He is now a Christian counselor for first responders dealing with PTSD and drug/alcohol issues. He is seeing a marked increase in anger issues with police reporting they feel they have a target on their backs and no support from leadership. Plus putting in hours on criminal cases only to have Prosecuting Attorneys totally dismiss the case or just not charge them. Then pick up the same person for another crime that's much worse.
