Alex Hutchings is back with this beautifully tasteful and full on Melodic Control jam track series! Alex decided to take it back to his roots in the fusion/rock vein packed full of his smooth sweeping lines, outside licks and of course his unique phrasing.
Alex thought long and hard about this series to create 5 full length tracks that are designed to test and develop your control of melodic nuances such as bending, vibrato, tremelo work and help improve your melodic phrasing overall. This series contains three hard hitting tracks as well as two superb laid back ballads for you to learn and master!
Each track has been centered around one key with a few interesting twists and turns designed to keep you on your feet. This makes them super easy and fun to jam over whilst having the scope for you to learn some new and interesting tricks along the way! This package is Alex Hutchings at his best!
Let Alex bring the best out in your playing by studying and mastering each performance video/audio alongside the accurate TAB/notation and then put your new found skills to the test by jamming over the very cool jamtracks included in this pack!
For those that are wondering (and because we get asked a lot) Alex tunes his guitar in straight fourths. This allows for more symmetry in the chord/scale shapes and lends itself better to visualising your way around the neck when improvising and composing. Because of this, Alex's strings are tuned to EADGCF but don't fret (pun intended), we have also included the solos/lines transposed into standard EADGBE tuning as well.
As ever, we have accurately transcribed every note and included the TAB/notation in the download, full backing tracks, audio solos and track notes.

Alex is a good player and teacher.
The looks of the guitar is what it is , I would own and play it.
The top horn looks long but it's a 24 fret guitar,any thing that get people attention without offended them is cool.

There are musical technician robots and then there are musicians. Alex is of course the latter. It's sad that the robots get more attention than him.

You'll know it already, but jezuscrize Alex's playing is INFREAKINSANE! Killer licks here & great sense of melody, and his chops mygad. For me, he, Govan, & Baxter are the best Brit fusion virtuosos right now.
What an ugly monster of a guitar. Alex is incredible though. He has a new fan. Alex, Guthrie, Frank and of course Alan H. My favorites in this type of music.
One of the few guitarists that employs all styles of picking, string bending, string slide in's and out's, and right hand picking attacks,,, superb player, and emotionally satisfying which is most important thing at the end of the day!!!
Alex definitely is one of the most professional guitarist in the world who is able to put his own peace of soul into the music through his fingers shredding the guitar!!! Those emotions Hutchings can give with his compositions make me feel he is the best of the best! He just squeeze every note out of the guitar making it both cry and laugh even at the same moment!!!
i would like to ask a thing to perhaps some more experienced players.
my little finger is the perfect size for my inner shredder.
but i feel my ring finger is not so nice.
when i press down on the string it pillows out to much.
is this just a thing of practice or is this really an uphill that isn't really worth climbing?
and could i find a guitar(neck) with strat sized frets with 2 octaves?

Oh my lord ... you're so out of your yard..... But now we know what a category of a player you are... I can hear when my 2.5 years old daughter plays on my guitar but it does not make her a good guitarplayer. All real guitarplayers and learners understand and can apprichiate all styles and players as long as it is played well.... So i guess you're not ready to take a step up... Fast does not mean good and slow does not mean bad... Get it??
Don't worry I'm chilled, FYI, I didn't say I cared about your personal opinion because I don't and if I did I might have said something like "I think it looks great and maybe you should keep your opinions to your self in situations like this" I said do you think HE cares, my money would be on no. :-)
Seriously, do you really think he cares what you think of his guitar?, If you could play like him would you care what others think? If you ever get even a 10th as good as him you can have yours however you like too!! :-)
Alex is just an awe inspiring guitarist and always gives me the will 2 pick up my guitar and play.
What the hell does he do at 1:04? Pinch harmonic and something else... sounds incredible. This guy needs more recognition.

Cheximus that's a pinch harmonic , but not the classical way with the pick , he bends one string but he is strumming more than one string as you can see , and he is touching the string slightly with his thumb in this motion so this is what happens and sounds great ! , sry for my bad english ;)

yes agreed... the guitar is designed for the virtuoso player who can exploit its open fretboard in the higher registers. And has a surprising good clean tone as well...

ugly guitar, but it looks really comfortable.
Never seen this guitar before, and I don´t like the look of it but dude, this guitar has 26 frets... and the body is open under the neck so you can really use those frets... the body over the frets goes that far down probably (if I´m to guess) give the neck structural strength... I don´t think the maker thought "Hey... let´s stand out" no he thought ". I think he thought "Hey, let´s make a 26 fret guitar that you can really use"
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, the Parker fly was ugly at first glance as was the Steinburger line etc.. but in time they grow on you and start looking cool... not everyone wants to play a beat up old strat... or les paul... this guy is in another league playing wise and is pushing the envelope all around...
I knew he didn´t and doesn´t care, he probably doesn´t even know that theese opinions exist, by the way I´m not going to start a discussion about what did I say or what did I understand because is pointless, by the way, we both think that he is a great guitar player no? (even if I don´t like the form of his guitar XD)
A Robben Ford / Guthrie Govan jam would be AWESOME! However imo, you are correct.Guthrie Govan does sound like a teenager. A virtuoso teenager that sounds like he's been playing about 40 years longer than he's been alive. Guthrie Govan is a BEAST! Are you kidding. Both Alex Hutchings & Guthrie Govan shred w/ just as much passion & feel as some of the BEST blues players.
These videos are like the pictures on Prismacolor boxes... when you buy a set, you think that when you buy it, you have the potential to draw just as good as the picture on the box thanks to what you have in front of you... but instead, it's nothing like what you see and you kind of die inside knowing you'll never be as amazing. ._____.
The guitar was made this way because of the deep cutaway. Look how deep it is - almost to the pickups. So the fat part of the body above the neck was designed to reinforce the body so it can hold the neck in its place.
This guy apart from being a shredder par excellance..has the most incredible feeling to his playing...& whats more he's BRITISH!!!!!! thats two of the most isnpirational guitarists in the world that are brits..the other being the fantastic Guthrie Govan!!!\m/
it's great....i personally prefer not so perfect music....someone like hendrix who would make a mistake and then "bend" to the more ear friendly sound....this music is too perfect for my ears...sorry....
this guy should be recognised as gutrie... different type of players, that's the only difference between them. both at the same level, but different, i don't consider this guy in a lower level
of course that if you record a video your video would be mutch better than alex's video xd why don't you give it a trie? i would love to see your unknown master guitar ability :)

Like most here, I find the playing of Alex insanely amazing as always but unfortunately, I find the guitar to be absolutely horrid. Sounds great, just looks terrible.

Who cares how high the guitar is when he plays? It's his preference to have it positioned high. It allows to play more comfortably. Ever watch jazz musicians? They do the same.
It kinda looks like Alex wanted a guitar built that was like his musicman axis but to his own ideal specs and design but without any lawsuit issues.. I'd love to know the specs though..
Coil splitting, series/parallel humbucking, etc I guess..as well as controlling the midi pickup (that thing between the tremolo and the bridge pickup)
I clicked on this because in the thumbail pic it looked like he was playing a weird MusicMan Axis. Boy was I wrong. Great playing from Alex as usual.
Amazing playing but that guitar looks horrible and very awkward to operate lol. Lots of knobs and switches. I prefer the axis super sport personally

How the fuck does one learn to play so fast... Ive been playing for about 3 years and can't play nowhere near fast because I don't really know which notes to hit

If you know guitar then you would realise that Guthrie can do what the likes of Ford and Trucks can do but they can't do what Guthrie does.

This guitar was made for 26 fret and a easy acces to 25 and 26 fret. Not to be the nicest guitare of the wolrd. Useless comentary

Am I blind or something ? I went to jamtrackcentral.com to download the EP but I can't find anything on the website. I only find some essential licks and backing tracks from Alex's work ... All I want is to hear Alex playing some more :(. If anyone could help, I would be truly grateful.

This guitar needs some serious operation to remove an abnormal growth. If left untreated it will grow all the way back to the headstock!
