Installing a Blue Ox BX1145 tow bar base plate & EZ wiring Kit on a 2022 Jeep Gladiator

In this how-to project, I am installing the Blue Ox BX1145 tow bar base plate. and the Blue Ox BX88368 EZ Light Wiring Kit for Jeep Wrangler JL & Gladiator on a 2022 Jeep Gladiator.

Did you have to use a 12v relay in the brake line to turn of the brake lights when the key is not on? On my 2015 JK the brake lights would override the turn signals unless the relay was used.

No, because on this one we left the key on when towing. I don't recall the specifics as the Jeep wasn't mine, but there was something with the drive train, I think the transfer case, that required the key to be left on. I didn't show it on the video but did mention that I added a charge line to keep the batt topped off when towing from a 12-volt source already present in the Newmar Dutch Start 7-pin trailer connector. It's the same way I wired the Subaru I towed with the RV.

Yea, it is a tradeoff to make it towable. The owner wasn't going to be extreme offroading where it would make any difference to him.
