Thanks for the insights in your work process. I discovered your fantastic work just a few weeks ago and yes, adapted it. It is like something inside me that wanted to come out all the time. I mostly use ½ sec or slightly shorter if necessary and let ISO and aperture done by the camera.
Interesting Olga. This has got me thinking about trying some new approaches. Currently I shoot with a Ricoh GR3 and my work is about catching people in a candid and natural way. My settings are usually around about 500iso 800sec and I adjust my aperture according to the light. I'm mainly looking for interesting expressions and unusual interactions between people. Anyway, I've been following you for a while; love your work, and it's been very interesting to hear you talk about your approach. Thank you.
From your work and style I can see that the GR2 works well for you; my GR2 broke, otherwise it would be my spare camera. For my work the 3 is best, mainly for the in-body-stabilisation, but also for the higher megapixel count: I use mainly colour, so I need the improved iso and better resolution. Also, I disable the touch screen on mine, can't stand them. Happy new year to you and I look forward to seeing your new work in 2024. @@olgakarlovac1760
Thanks so much for this honest, passionate and insightful presentation. Your work really inspires me. Love that I think you say the camera is just (an important) tool but seeing what’s it’s really about. Curious if you shoot in RAW and then convert to black and white?
Great to hear you Olga ! What about your gear ? Do you still use a Ricoh ? Fujfilm or other brands ? Any favourite lens ? Congrats for your beautilful woroks !
