    When I die I want to go back to this era. I was 18 yrs old in 1986 and was a teen at the perfect time. This era was really laid back and just really fun to be alive. And watching these commercials just brings me back and makes me kinda of sad seeing the madness we’re in now.

    • @pepsi_man4962

      I’m 18 years old. It’s 2022. I work a full time job as a school cleaner. 3-11 Monday-Friday. And let me tell you. That is about the only good thing to come out of life for me these days. I’ve tried having friends but that never works out. I’ve tried keeping girlfriends but all they ever want to do is party, smoke weed, vape, and do other bad immature things constantly. I listen to mostly 80s music. I watch mostly 80s movies. And I grew up with my dad always bringing me to shopping malls. Now the malls are mostly gone and shutting down so I can’t enjoy those. What is there good from life anymore? I just want a good girlfriend to spend my life with than I’ll be fine. But that may not happen at this point. I’m sick of this modern culture. I’m sick of what is happening. I’m sick of what has been normalized. Nobody can just be a genuine mature person. I can’t even watch television without getting woke crap thrown in my face either. I can’t go to the store without seeing trashy people and high prices. I can’t do nothing.

    • @Horriflick
      @Horriflick Рік тому

      @@pepsi_man4962 I was a teen in the 80s/90s too. Turns out - people pretty much sucked then too. Kids drank and smoked pot a lot then and, like you, a lot of kids felt lonely and isolated. Labor jobs had just as shitty working conditions. Politics were just as ineffectual. Worries about war and nuclear meltdowns. An 80s economy that was backed on outrageous debt fell like a house of cards at the end of the decade. People turned blind eyes to social, economic, and medical problems if they weren’t in their backyards (and usually they were - that’s how bad we had our heads in the sand).
      I get it. Your life isn’t exactly ideal at the moment, but shopping malls and not having to see a gay character on TV suddenly wouldn’t turn it all around. Plenty of us were miserable as fuck in the 80s too.

    • @pepsi_man4962
      @pepsi_man4962 Рік тому

      @@Horriflick now imagine the struggle of the 1980s on top of all of the struggles these days. So times 10. There were struggles in every decade. But now a days something is off. Simply walk into a Walmart or Home Depot and you won’t see one normal person there. In the 80s you didn’t have dangerous freaks of nature walking among you. The 80s was not perfect just like every decade. But I can assure you the 1980s was one of the most normal decades for the American middle class (people like us). Now you can’t even send your child to school without anti American sentiment being shoved down their throats. Little kids can’t even watch tv anymore without seeing a black, trans, lesbian, dog fetish person in Nickelodeon. The 90s and 2000s was way better than it is now to tell you the honest 100% truth!!!

The ones that want to go back to the 1980's are the Toy R US kids that are now in their 40's still sleeping with their Geoffrey Giraffes because they couldn't figure why no woman wanted to marry them. I actually have an old pair of binoculars that I found out were worth $100.00 by January 2019 , that dated back to the Korean War, so some of the ones in that one TV ad may be worth something… I only have them because an goodwill store I went to thought they were an toy, which they weren’t…irony is I paid only $1.00 for Binoculars worth $100.00 for new ones like mine in an camera store … ( also they were made in China and may have been an Canadian soldier’s war trophy / relic, they kept till they passed away)…because they had an made in China label in English and Chinese, and came in an case with red fabric cotton inside with black exterior leather as I found out thanks to Google in 2020 during the 1st COVID-19 lockdown …which I still have to this day…and is now part of my emergency supplies kits…

    We'll be seeing those 10.9% interest rates on cars again real soon. Unfortunately, we won't ever see those lower inflation-adjusted prices again.....I do miss those days!

    I'm a millennial but I totally miss the 90s and we all agree things were simpler back then-less politics, less division, and everyone was more focused on entertainment.

      Less politics and less division??? Lol lol lol you don’t remember anything then.. I grew up in the 80s and into the early 90s.. it was the same.. the fall of the Soviets, the Berlin wall.. the first Iraq all the way to 9/11.. the internet was popular in the mid 90s it was just slow.. ebay and Amazon are from 1994.. u have a bad memory kid

    • @dirtmerchant4718

      @@juliedunken1150 No, it wasn't the same. Politics will always exist no matter the age. In the 80s you didn't have the internet or social media. People embraced Christmas. You didn't have crazy organizations starting riots and taking over the government. Communism was taught to be bad and capitalism was good. Being black was just being black and being white was just being white. Our government didn't stoke racism like today. I miss the 80s and what it represented. Being a boy was just being a boy and being a girl was just that. We had only two genders now we have an unlimited number. No, you aren't from the 80s. I lived the best days of my life back then. People gave a shyt back then.

      @@juliedunken1150 I was born in 1970. It was much simpler than it was today. Back then the only major issue was the cold war. Government back then wasn't knocking at your door like it is today. Please, explain how it wasn't that simple. Or you could be a drama queen?

    13:22 - 10.9% interest is considered a "deal" for a car loan. We are heading back to that way. A time when people saved up to buy things and used less credit.

    I was born 87 so I was mostly a 90s kid, but these still feel nostalgic. The jingles companies made, basic logo graphics, fuzzy video quality and cheezy acting were the same up until the mid 2000s. I feel around 2005 is when everything started to dramatically change.
    I blame cell phones and internet
