  • Is this Hapkido move | Real or staged?
    Check out this really slick Hapkido counter move. Many who have seen this video have been asking if it was real or staged :) ?
    We'll let you be the judge of that. However there is nothing staged about the potential of this lesser known martial art.
    Hapkido is a Korean martial art that utilizes skillful joint manipulations to offset an opponents balance and use their momentum against them in self defense.
    The skills learnt include striking & kicking, throws, joint manipulation, takedowns, ground fighting, and traditional weapons.
    At the higher ranks and black belt levels, kyung mu kwan hapkido students also explore various counters and possible "holes" when attempting to execute basic self defense technques as seen in this video.

    It’s real. And if you try to resist it (like I did once to see if my teacher was full of it), you nearly get your wrist broken unless you roll with it. In Hapkido you learn to roll out of breaking joints…. 😂
