I think the biggest issue with english is that the balance between longbow's power and what else they can do is jarring. longbow/spearman spam is insane, and come out fast and early as well as being a complete noobslayer (to the point where its just not fun for new players who are not playing english), but if you manage to survive that, they're not a huge deal. if longbow power maybe got moved to something else, they'd have a better balance. they should not be that busted in low tier only to be really awful in high tier because of one unit.
China is so much better than Rus late-game and Mongols are super hard to stop as Rus also. Their units are not great if you just wall off properly which I notice top players refuse to do and just get abused by horse archers. I don't understand the logic of why players think Rus is OP AT ALL. Everybody complains that they can't raid vs Rus but how is that a big deal? To me it seems that players think Rus is good on paper but don't actually get to see real Rus stats in tournaments because they chose to ban it instead. Players like Beasty don't even touch that civ. So the bonus wood is better than free and fast production from Ottomans or Abbasid? Their towers don't have bombard emplacement, stone walls are inconvenient because you have to pick a normal castle as a landmark and their early knights need an upgrade going into castle. How is Horse archer spam comparable to a knights spam from HRE? I am sorry but I just don't get the logic at all.
because kremlin protects so much in the early game that you cant harass rus, so they literally can have a second tc safely while still can harass you with early knights

Kekw ok they age up faster on water map ok they can carry fish without dock if someone kill dock age 1 ! Ok kremlin can protect wood ! But if one french player harass your gold with one overpowered kgt what we can do ? Call militia ? But kgt can run ! No rus is bad pro are wrong they are Perma ban because pro in tournament don't want to give free win to openent . pepega
@@abhishekab1 That's because the militia from the Kremlin can be used to harass opponents. Moreover, it has economic bonus and if the Militia are not used for harass, it can still be brought out for a big push.

I think his tier list is for pro players. If you are a plat or gold and play English very well, you'll still be fine.
