- The current work-in-progress version of my LucasArts emulator DREAMM emulates over 20 Star Wars games. While getting them all working, I couldn't help but notice huge inconsistencies in how the opening crawl was handled from game to game.
You really would have thought that the Lucas licensing department would be hard-core about this kind of thing, but apparently not!
This video is a lighthearted attempt at grading the various attempts, plus a bit of an opportunity to show off what I've been working on for the next version of DREAMM.
You can download the current version of DREAMM (3.0.2) at aarongiles.com...

Very cool video! Seeing, and hearing, the opening crawl in Star Wars games used to give me chills.
Never noticed there were so much differences between all of these crawls and at a time it was pretty hard for them to respect the text size and the angle while still being readable in such low resolutions.
Also, I'm quite happy to see more Star Wars titles coming to DREAMM. I've always had a soft spot for DroidWorks and it has always been a hassle to run on modern computers.
Thank you for your hard work. :)
I always like emulating more obscure titles as they bring to light games that people have often forgotten. The Lucas Learning games definitely fall into that category, and there are a bunch of them. Pit Droids is a nice little puzzler as well.
@@aaronsgiles Yes, Pit Droids is really a nice puzzle game, indeed. I remember spending a Christmas vacation on it with my brother, very addictive. And I still listen its soundtrack from time to time, it sounds like nice and cool Tatooinian music.
