Anyone using Headhunter knows the pain of group scaling all too well.

Body blocking is cancer in the division 2.. its amazing how many unaware players of all typs of SHD not understand that you don't stand in front of others like you are some type of badass while you block the other 3 or the other 7 peoples shots lol. then you die and blame the rest of the group and say "lack of dps" just fan the fuck out and let others help you kill the npc. maybe one day players will gain more braincells and figure that out. yeah ive seen the bug also the bug where the npc pops up right beside you like they HAVE to drop you for your hive to go off.. every patch they fix a couple of bugs and creat new ones lol. Great video once again. i dont do blue cores in group play unless im supposed to like a tank build. everything dies faster with reds if you are good player.

Did a backup request. Joined a group if 4, faced 3 ooen world squads on heroic, all gold bars. Went to china town control point. All gold bars, enemies jumped out from beside us, im using striker Oroboros, (normally cuts em down easy 1 mag) it takes two mags in this instance. Second i pop out of cover, every enemy targets me at once. Instant down. Teammate sends seeker mines, another tries to revive me. Two push em and all other enemies not targeted by seekers engage and take him out. They than all push the other two teammates down the street in unison. While another patrol appears beside them. 1000% BS. Even the territory control i had to run by to get back to them was ALL elite gold bar enemies. Every enemy we have seen save for 2 were gold bar. No directives, just heroic open world difficulty. The scaling is F*****. The background changes they do are S*** and absolutely waver like a mood swing making it easier or more difficult by the day. Which sucks because the scaling is F***** too. Even had my all red chainkiller determined build not be able to take a purple enemy out when i had 13 stacks of memento determined on and useing the Nemesis for the big first headshot buff. I was in a group of 4. Should have instantly been taken out with one shot. No exceptions, i can hit 68.9 million no problem. 90+ with full stacks and i switch to the Virginian.

Assuming I'm picking up what you are putting down, that just leaves me with 5 questions... 1: were you able to make use of stacks over 100? 2: how much change do you think is needed to feel "not useless"? Like would swapping to say Coyote's be enough, or maybe keep Catharsis and switch 3 Blues to Reds? 3: It looks like you had Oroborus, should we make more room for DPS if we don't have that weapon? 4: I haven't done much above Challenging Countdown, is CC still useful like Banshee Pulse and Scorpio? 5: is a shield a must?

      1) In Duo, yes. Easily got and maintained 170+ Stacks. Bare in mind, this is a 6 Blue Build, so at lower stacks I do litterally nothing.
      2) I cannot answer this without bias sadly. I am a 6 Red player at heart, so I would say change all of it.
      3) The idea of this is following on from my King Casual Video: ua-cam.com/video/Mxd6d31M-NM/v-deo.html&t= where I go over the very simple notion that Ouroboros is abolutely the best weapon for Casuals, and also highlight how powerful it is. Ideally, I would not suggest this build at all unless you have Ouroboros.
      4) In Group play a dedicated CC player is always welcome and worthwhile.
      5) I play very agressively, I have it on 90% of the build I have, and even at skill tier 0 it tripples your survivability. So I would say yes, though that is just my opinion.

@@DodRegnbue Ouroboros being key is certainly a paradox... To be more casual, you must first get through a pretty meta heavy run... Regardless this gives us some idea to form a baseline.

General question regarding scaling: I've been told there is no group scaling in legendaries. Is that true? It's never felt that way to me. While playing solo on legendary i've brought in a few builds heavier on the blue cores. They ran just fine (ok'ish). When I brought those builds same builds in a four person group, the difference felt measurably worse. Sure felt like there was group scaling at play.

Yes and no. The armor and health of the enemies (so how much damage you have to do to kill them) does scale with group size. However enemy number and veterancy does not.

    • @DodRegnbue
      @DodRegnbue  Рік тому +1

      Bro-Z is correct.
The enemy health, scales with group number. The mor ememebers in a group, the more damage is needed to kill them.
However, unlike other missions where your group size determines the amount of enemies per spawn, in Legendary, this is really kept minimal.
In Solo, if a Spawn is 3 red 2 purple and 2 yellow, and a chunga. In group it will be the same, though there is a small element of RNG, where on occasion, you might get 2 Chungas.

on one hand, I would have to agree with the rough idea of meta sets giving the most return on investment for random matchmaking in most games.
but on the other hand, I'm simply playing devil's advocate here, some players might just actually not be good enough to run meta or anything remotely close to meta.
but on the other other hand, after probably way too much time with monster hunter and league of legends, I believe that solo-queue / sos-flare / random matchmaking things in any video game will almost always have a high chance of becoming a clown fiesta.
also one of the people I regularly play with has the same issue about enemies not showing up, so at least now we know it's more likely to be an issue within the game and not an issue with his setup or ISP.

MEta incorperates a play style, the more you use it, the better you become.
Sadly, people only give it one try. They use it once, inevitably fail, say it is bad and never touch it again.

@@DodRegnbue I agree with that seeming to be the case. I can't play devil's advocate to defend those types of people at all considering that the near retirement age players I play in an organized group with can and will play meta when push comes to shove.
      edit:
also especially when they're the ones that pointed me in your direction as well as the spreadsheets you have talked about in your previous videos.

All very true, however I’ll take a good player with an off-meta build over an asshole with a meta build and a chip on their shoulder any day. Been in too many teams with people who clearly are only interested in being top of the stats and have no conscientiousness for team play.
I often think a dose of friendly fire damage would really do wonders for people’s teamplay - then I remember I’d just spend the entire game dead so … eh.

There is something to be said about this.
One of my groups I play with run hybrids/armor regen high end builds and are obviously not doing optimal damage. It feels bad if I roll with them and use a top tier meta oreo build. They simply don't get to kill anything.
Switching to a build that more aligns or synergizes with the group let's those other group members also enjoy the game.

“I don’t wanna infect other players with this build”
Dude. You’re using a sub-optimal yet still quite powerful DPS build that’s built carefully. A shit ton of people who matchmake heroic and legendary missions bring unicorn builds with 4 piece Rigger, 1 piece Overlord and 1 Bulwark. Don’t feel bad, there’s a lot of players who do much worse.

My current "go to" set up for group matchmaking is a pretty basic and standardized version of iKia's Bruiser style builds, but being more damage focused.
Obliterate 1Ceska, 1Grupo, Contractors, Fox's, Picaro, and Momento.
    6 Reds, 2 Blue
Tier3 or 4 shield (depending on Technician or not)
It gives me Pristine Build type damage numbers, while having a bit more armor, a stronger shield, and a bit of armor regen.
I just have to have to constantly remind myself (when matchmaking and all their crazy Clickbait, and NinjaBike nonsense builds) "You can't fix stupid, but you can revive them when they keep getting downed" and this build helps for that.
