PARTING
I pre-parted the rows making 5 rows up the back and 8 rows going across the top. I take down one row at a time and part the individual sections. I braid the base of my hair passing the strands about 20 times, and I leave the ends, and I following this parting and braiding technique for my entire head. I end up with 28 sections in the back and 24 sections across the top.
THE HAIR
I wanted shorter twists so I cut the marley hair in half. I wanted the length of the hairstyle so come from the curly hair instead of having extra long twists. I also think shortening the twists allowed the style to feel lighter on my head. The curl pattern of the QVR Water Wave hair is absolutely stunning. Of course, I washed all of the hair before this install. The hair comes rolled into a bundle. When it’s unrolled, you get a pretty long weft of hair, about 4 feet. The strands are held together by rows of thread. You pinch a section, gather as much hair as you'd like and pull it out. It’s very easy and keeps the hair from getting tangled.
THE INSTALL
Now let’s install these twists. I take down the sections one row at a time. I use a crochet latch hook to install the marley hair. I do not know how to attach extension hair by braiding it in. My grip game is not that strong lol. So this installation technique works for me. I insert the hook through the base of the braid, hook the middle of the marley hair onto the end, close the latch, and pull one half of the marly strand all the way through.
Next, I wrap one half of the marly hair around my hair and the rest of the marley hair. I wrap to the end of my braid. Once I get to the end of my braid, I separate the rest of my hair and add a strand of the curly hair and begin rope twisting to anchor it in, adding a some more braid gel. I take the longer curly piece out and continue twsting. Once I get to a spot I like, I add another curly strand doing the same thing. I continued doing this until I got to the end of the twist. Once I finished the twist, I went over the twist with scissors to cut off any pieces of the curly hair that were sticking out from the twist.
I started by adding 2 curls to the back two rows, and I noticed that it wasn’t thick enough, so I started adding 3 curls to the next 3 rows. I still didn’t think it was full enough so I added 4 curls to the rest of my head, until I got to the last 4 rows as the top/middle of my head. I added 5 curls to those twists. I went back and re-did the two rows in the back adding 5 curls to each twist. Ultimately, I should have just added 5 curls to all the twists. I think that would have given me the fuller glamorous look I wanted. But I think this still gave me a natural density that I was satisfied with.

Hi. Tfs! I just have the average questions. How long did it take? How many packs of each hair bundles did you end up using? The process and what you used to wash the hair? Did you wash both human and twist hair? How long did it take to dry? Can you post an update on how long it last b4 taking it out. Thanks

These are all great questions!!! I literally took the style out two days ago 😩. The thought crossed my mind to do a video while taking them out, and I didn’t listen to my intuition smh. I will definitely film it next time, cause I’m installing these twists again before the summer is over, for sure! 👌🏽
But to answer your questions:
I’m a perfectionist and I like to take breaks lol, so I separated each phase of the style. Parting took about 3 hrs.
Install took at least 6 hrs. But don’t use my timeline as the standard lol. I consider myself average to slower speed when installing protective styles.
I washed both the human and synthetic hair the same way. I let them dry outside for at least 4 hours (or overnight if I’m in no rush). I have a video on my channel showing the wash process and the products I use. Feel free to check it out!
