- TWIN TUNNELS & BUILDING THE NEW VIADUCT
Work continues on modifying the mill area since fitting the four track mainline. Today, it’s the high level stuff, ie, refitting the twin tunnels, and the start of the new viaduct. Looking back can’t believe this area of the layout has changed so much and so often, oh well! Hopefully, we’ll get it right soon. Enjoy the video!

Coming together nicely
John. Nice work. Pete
Thank you for the mention John I definitely think you can pull this off!
Thanks Steve, I wouldn’t have thought of it, if not for your advice. Thank you once again.
Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
I like the dissused former branch of the viaduct idea. So many examples of that on the real railway and in so many cases they were left to overgrow to avoid the costs of demolition. It's good to see that part of the layout beginning to take shape again. Stephen
Thank you, I saw a video of someone walking along the viaduct in Leeds, it really is a crying shame how its literally been abandoned. As you said the cost of demolition would be enormous due its sheer length. Hopefully my short rendering will reflect that.
I love it when track plans get a bit complicated. You have some great plans there John.
Bless you thx, so glad you like it. Think the doused viaduct will add a different aspect to the layout, shame it’s a bit cramped though.
Great update John ... you have so much going on such a small space!
Regards
Steve
Hi John, that’s all coming on quite nicely, really like the disused viaduct, looking forward to more as you get into it further and as ever much inspiration for me, cheers John, John
Gret progress as always pal cheers

Hello John
I hope your well
Really great work with viaduct, your 3D prints look so good.
I ordered my new 3D printer should be here soon.
Oooooooo very exciting, what printer have you gone for? FDM with filament or resin? Here to help if you need it.
@piccadillymodelrailways That's very kind John thank you with me technology peaked at the light switch 🤣 Creality Ender-3 V3 SE filament
Im sure you'll do great. The SE is a great machine, Ive got its sibling the KE. My pleasure, just say.
Great video sir! I seem to pick a few tips up every video 😊
Bless you, so kind of you to say.
Evening John. Love the redundant viaduct idea. I know you said you weren't going to join the track at New Mills and effectively only use one platform, but given all the effort you're putting in that seems a bit of a shame. That said, it's something you could do at a much later date if needed. Cheers Euan
Thanks Euan, I know what you mean. Im thinking if I had to remove the twin tunnels section, it becomes pain. The rails ripped out of the sleepers couple times and had to superglue them in place, alternativelty it would be rip up the sleepers to replace the parts of track on both sides of the join. So by placing the tracks nearby it kinda looks ok, not ideal which ever way you look at it. New Mills track strangley never ran than well, it best of the evils I guess.
