I'm reminiscing my days in high school, all those hours playing so many Soon Hee Newbold pieces. They still feel just as incredible. Arguably one of the few things I liked about high school.
Haha we had to do this in 7th grade and I remember FREAKING OUT at those parts but they were crazy fun and I still have the music so sometimes I like to just play it for fun.
i remember playing this almost over a decade ago and the cello part never failed to make me so happy to play. our conductor made us play in the dark once and it was a surreal experience. i look back on that time fondly :')
last year my high school orchestra played this for a contest and i remember breaking a literal sweat and being in pain because of how much emotion i put into playing this piece, this piece will always remind me why i do what i do
Though this might not be saying much, as this is my first full year being in an orchestra, but this is probably my favorite piece we've played thus far - our varsity orchestra is going to nail it for the concert! I'm so psyched about learning this! ❤👍
I’m a sophomore playing this with my philharmonic class in which they are all seniors so they have more experience then me by like two years, ANYWAYS, are there any pointers as to playing quickly and efficiently?? I skipped two whole yrs worth of Orchestra thanks to my teacher ://
This song is amazing! And it also somehat progresses in difficulty.. The beginning starts off really easy and then it suddenly becomes extremely difficult. I love this song, and I'm trying to convince my orchestra teacher to have us play this for Middle School State Assesments (I'm in 8th grade chamber)
@@directoromicron3186 yeah I got to play it later after the original comment for a solo and ensemble event with 14 other people. I caught on to the harder parts after a lot of practice XD
Yeah I’m listening to this and I really want to learn how to play this! Reading the comments right now and seems like it’s hard but I will accept the challenge 🤩👏🏾
I remembered playing this song my Junior year of hs. I loved this piece so much! We were supposed to play this song for our competition against other schools, but then Covid hit and we never gotten to perform this song to anybody even though we’ve practiced months for it :(
5:18-5:42 was my favorite part to play as hard and aggressively passionate as i could with the rest of the cellos because of how pretty this part was, we wanted the cellos to ring
Omg I miss playing so much I’m literally crying rn I had to leave orchestra this high school year so I could complete my honors diploma language program but I’m sitting here listening to this reminiscing on the past in my tears still slightly remembering the fingers and how to direct this magnificent peice

Closer to the tip helps you play faster, but it's also harder to play loudly up there so you have to find a balance. Also, practice! I regret not practicing a bunch when I played it a couple years back. If you know the piece and are comfortable with it you'll get it under your fingers and will be able to play it easily
I’m in the Indianapolis youth philharmonic orchestra and as a violin myself, I recommend slow practice, and gradually speeding it up. THIS IS NOT A PIECE YOU CAN JUST TRY AT REHERSAL!!!! I recommend taking it to a private teacher, and again PRACTICE!!!! Hope this was helpful!!!!😃😃
God this sounds fun- I’m not playing this tho I’m playing another song called storm AND THIS IS WHY SOON HEE NEWBOLD IS MY NEW FAVORITE ARTIST NOW BECAUSE OF THESE 2 SONGS
"2 123 123456789 12 123 123456 1" -viola I played this as a chamber quintet as a part of of my all county orchestra, the difficulty of this music is not to be understated

5:49 POV: you're a first violinist and you and your stand partner are absolutely going ham

4:22 I vividly remember going absolute HAM on those runs. God this piece was so incredibly fun to play
