My question is do louis vuitron need a reciept or is the datacode enough for repair? I have a Model from the 80s and think about changing the leather too :-)

You do not need a receipt and if the date code it’s faded it’s ok they don’t really used the date code for authentication they inspected the material like the canvas and the amount of stitches and the color, the hardware that’s what they are looking for. LV knows that early 80 they did not used date code. They have other way of authenticating their items.
