Two more points from a Dutch guy: status and fake friendliness. I visited a zoo there and everywhere you looked were signs like: this fence is sponsored by X, this plant was donated by Y, this pavement tile was paid for by Z. People seem to love getting their name slapped on something public. And they act like you're the best friend they ever met in their life after exchanging two sentences, but then don't contact you again until they need something from you. (That last part seems universal nowadays, but people outside the USA don't pretend nearly as much that you're important to them.)

Those are actually sponsored by a community or a company because the Zoo had no money thanks to our goverment spendings and other crazy stuff like Covid. The sponsors get also a percentage % of the profit made by the Zoo in the upcoming year.
Exactly the same how amateur and pro soccer hockey clubs do and so on do to fill the holes in the balance. It is just a normal contract sponsor deal. We even do that for maintenance for roundabouts. Maintain it and you can use also a promotion for your company.
The second part is on you, that has nothing to do how Dutch people are. We Dutch are very nice, open smart DIRECT We can drink beer and party like crazy end we produce the best DJ's!
With "prentend" 😂 You mean we are self-opinionated, cocky or something?
A good tip for you, take that face-mask off, maybe you brain can recover from a lack of oxygen.

That's gross generalization. I visited New York, lost my way, and asked an officer. He was super helpful and actually walked a bit with me. He asked where I was from, and said goodbye with a warm "welcome to NY". On the other hand, as a french citizen, I once asked a cop directions and he straight up ignored me, with a disgusting smile, talking to his collegue about how "tourists are dumb".
I wouldn't generalize from both of these experiences though, because an anecdote is just irrelevant statistic wise.

Then you claim that it's an insurrection when (after years of bloody leftist riots which caused billions in damage and destroyed countless businesses, lives) there's one small protest in one location in that whole huge country, unarmed, with no plan, the one you claim was 'the leader' told everyone to follow the law (as he always does) and then drove home to watch TV, then when people make it into the building with doors opened by law enforcement they don't do anything but look around and then on their own decided to go home...you think that's a coup attempt?

One consideration about "segregation": for us Europeans, it's unbelievable that in US you consider so much "ethnicity" in every aspect of your life, that you must put it in forms, modules, questionnaires. This is considered SO SO SO racist if it were required here in Europe! I know that with this you try to be aware and protect minorities, but I think that this will just end up to bring more segregation (meaning: separation) between social groups. You should try to see you just as "Americans" and not "African-Americans", "White Americans", "American with latin origin"... and so on.

I been to the US twice, in 2004 we went to Florida and in 2019 we went to the Southwest visiting California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona. It;s so strange to see the tent camps on overpasses in big cities and the big differences between poor and rich in cities like LA and Las Vegas. When we in Europe think of things like that we think of third world countires or the Favela's in Brazil, not about the US. We also saw a lot of people with serious mental problems roaming the streets , especialy in San Fransisco: that would never happen in Europe. But the national parks are beautifull. About the sports fans: that is basicly just football/soccer, in all other sports that's not a problem. And we don't have competetive high school and college sports in Europe, there are sports classes in schools, but just for fun and exercise.

The biggest issue to me is the US government itself. Mostly rich old guys having all the power for 4-8 years. They are funded by companies for their campagnes, so they have to do favours to those companies. The other scary part is only having two parties who can compete. It is crazy to me, that a judge is linked to political party in the supreme court, who are placed there by a president. A judge is supposed to be impartial, neutral. In short, the US government is controlled by the rich and nepotism. I would prefer the trias politica, where there are 3 powers that create a more balanced government in my opinion.
At last, the president being untouchable and able to grant a pardon is alien like, no one deserves that much power.

Here in european countries, people are neutral to you if they don't know you. Polite but a bit distant. You can form a friendship with a bit of time, and that friendship will last.
In the US, people are extremly sympathetic to you as a stranger. Like they actually like you and are interested in you. But that doesn't mean they want to be friends with you. It feels like a facade somehow.
From a US perspective, europeans are rude to not be instantly extra friendly, but from my perspective, we're just honest.
I don't have to greet you like a family member, I don't know you. Maybe if we find ourselves liking each others, we will bond. Otherwise we stay civil but we dislike hypocrisy.

I'll try not to get political, but those 4 years of Trump had a loooot of us over here in Europe go "Okay, what has he said or done now?" every morning when you open the paper or check a news site. There was a feeling of "if he makes a false step - and he's a bit of a bull in a china shop - this could all blow up" again and again, and I had last felt that way in 1986, when I was 8 years old and a 10 year-old told me about the cold war and how close we were to a nuclear war sometimes. It's particularly easy when they also had a chance to 'educate' you in their leftist indoctrination schools, and after keeping you from seeing what Trump actually said, instead telling you what he said and what you should think about it. They showed you no balanced reporting: absolutely no counterpoints.
They lied to you about "Russiagate", "Fine people on both sides", Hunter Biden's laptop, "Horse dewormer", "He called war heroes names", "Muslim ban", etc, etc, etc. and you should know that by now but you don't even though definitive proof has been presented widely in public (just not on the leftist fraud-media you watch and read), you don't care about having been lied to, you're already programmed and you can't be deprogrammed...at least when you still keep listening to the same liars.

Meanwhile your state-controlled media doesn't criticize your leaders, doesn't even mention who your top civil servants are to keep them anonymous and out of any possible criticism, and only works as a PR-apparatus for your rulers...who you have no power over, who you get no real info, investigations, anything on which they don't want you to know. Because you have no real media, only PR-firms in their control. And you have absolutely no idea who the people backing and controlling your political (and civil service) leaders are. They just tell you to concentrate on work and paying for your super-expensive house (for the few who have one...others their expensive rent) and paying your expensive bills...so they can keep amassing ever more control over you and so they can illegally import more employees for their companies...(who you pay for too, so they don't have to!)

In Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia pretty much any normal person can get the necessary paperwork to conceal carry a firearm. Getting it is usually less difficult than getting a driver's license. It is just rare for people to even consider keeping a firearm at home, let alone carrying it daily. For citizens of these countries conceal carry makes as much sense as carrying a fire extinguisher on you all the time in case of a fire.
And don't get me wrong, I am not against it. Here in Poland with the paperwork I have I can legally walk like Neo from the Matrix with 6 loaded firearms under my coat. However just because you legally can carry a foldable short-barrel 7.62x39 AKM with a loaded 100-round drum, plus one in the chamber, binary trigger and a suppressor doesn't mean you would or should. The countries along the eastern border of EU are a very safe place to be and you don't have to constantly keep checking your surroundings for threats. You can let your guard down, walk in the middle of the night alone and nobody will bother you.

I live in Finland and according to what I've learned, the reason why so many Americans aren't aware of what's going on in other countries is because of the school system. It's pretty awful compared to many other countries. And the other reason is the rhetoric of America being the best country in the world. When you hear that repeated over and over your whole life, you start to believe it. I'm sure there are many other additional reasons and points to be considered, but my personal experience is these are the two main ones that create a lot of ignorance and a feeling of superiority.

My wife was never allowed a passport because she had huge debts caused by health issues and I found it amusing everytime I flew into the US that the border control where very on edge when I explained the purpose of my visit and very relieved when I said I would not be moving there. That was until my last visit when I was advised I could get a green card ( I had been married 5 years by then) and he seemed to be actively encouraging me to do so. To be honest though, I would need a small fortune to move to the US and now I am in poor health, I don't want to be stressed by the ridiculous prices of health care and the annual property tax but I will hopefully someday get back over to see the many friends I have made during my marriage

For the Netherlands traditionally the Democrats are to our right and the Republicans are off the scale, especially the conservative Christian part but also the sheer economic income and opportunity inequality right. Trump has been getting a worse press here than het gets at home from MSNBC. But lots of people knew the name Trump even before the Apprentice. Lots of people take an interest in 'Americana' like that just like they do in many other things. It's not lack of curiosity.
The Dutch also have a low bar for segregatiion. Things like black and white neighbourhoods are a bit daunting and the Netherlands has probably more mixed race marriages than the far bigger USA. We know a lot has changed for the better the past decades but it has been a stain on "the leader of the free world" for very long here, the whole 2nd half of the 20th century.

To be fair, I don't think that the US people alone are to blame for being obese. Based on all the stories that people have told here on UA-cam, there must be something wrong with the US food. Europeans who visit the USA often gain weight and lose it again quickly when returning home, and US Americans often automatically lose weight when staying a few weeks in Europe. Of course we also walk around more here in Europe and have smaller portion sizes, but it seems to me that the food quality in the USA isn't very good.

The only thing that gets to me a little is Americans questioning how we use English as if we've made a mistake. The church on the corner of my road dates back to the 12th century way before Mirriam Webster decided to alter our language. But other than that we're good!

Fan separation is a football thing. Rugby fans get to mix in the stands. Unfortunately football has a history that makes this a thing.

Dutch here. People talk a lot about politics and negative stuff what they see on media. I have visited the USA multiple times and interact with Americans very often. Nothing but good experiences. I love the USA! Southwest and Pacific Northwest are amazing. I’m aware of good and bad people and stuff but that’s everywhere. Keep up the good work.🇺🇸

I mean if you say its impressive that people in europe know alot about other countries like the US you have to understand that the US is not just another country for the rest of the world
    US Imperialism is a thing.
there is no other country with such a cultural and especially political influence over the world. Most movies are from the US, Most music is from the US, most brands are from the US and basically every war is fought with US weapons or by the US
So if your countries market and goverment is highly influenced by US interests and you live next to an US military base america becomes a bit more than just another country and something like Trump becoming a president may impact you a lot
thats the reason why people know alot about the US. Pretty sure they cant name the president of indonesia

    17:21 Biggest problem is 'size'.
If it's a same sort of system but then BY State, it could have a better chance to succeed then doing it Federal in the US (if done that way you could end up with a budget the size of the military or even bigger what also does NOT drive competition for drug prices).
    Very complicated !!!!!

I find it funny that Europeans complain that Americans are oblivious to the rest of the world, yet they are oblivious to what America is really like.

It’s a little different in the UK and our attitude towards America and Americans.
We’ve been brothers in arms for so long now that we are like a family that argues a lot.
You are our loud, brash, much younger brother to our grown up,sensible older brother.
Overall,I like Americans,I’ve worked with many of them, but the overriding sense is that they are very insular compared to the more worldly Europeans.

A big thing for me is the celeb culture you guys got over there. People seem to freak out when they see someone even remotely famous. Meanwhile, here in Vienna you meet people like Christoph Waltz or Arnold Schwarzenegger just hanging out at a cafe and no one gets more excited than "hey, look, it´s that guy from the Django movie"

12:00 They do there vacation with bicycles. I don't know if they go to France by bike. This is not so easy to compare with the USA. The Netherlands is only separated from France by Belgium. If they go by bike it is at least 50 miles. Which is doable. The bike paths in the Netherlands and Belgium are really great and you don't have to ride on big roads. But I think it is more likely that they just take there bikes on a car with them to do bike trips within France.

Lost in the subtitles is that they say they went to the Pyrenees in France. So they went to the southern part of France. That is about 600 miles from the Netherlands. I think that is too far to go by bike. So they probably took bikes with them by car or rented bikes in France.

Trump is the pinnacle of us arrogance. (No offense)
About knowledge about politic stuff. Always, when i try to speak to us americans about political stuff and i am just 1% off from their opinion, they say to me: "You aren't us american, you can't talk with us. Shut up, you don't have any clue."
Honestly, alot of europeans know what is going on in the states. I mean, we need to have the world police (a funny meant name atleast germans call us americans sometimes) in check. Keep an eye on them. Because even for alot america is not that important, it has a important stance in the world. Sadly kinda. So i never got how alot us american can be so delussional... why we should not know about your stuff then? XD Btw. You are an awesome dude. Keep up the good work and keep doing your videos. Greetings from Germany. 😊
