there should be a version with the pyramid interference, the strings plus the reverberating hums of darkness would be sick for a final walk to fight the witness
@@ChefinBb agreed, the music is to capture the struggle and inspiration of the guardians and their sacrifices. it plays when you are going in a path of guardians bravely dying even without their light. pyramiding is the witness approaching or influence of something. I don't think they'll have guardians turned against one another more like trying to destroy them. also hope holiday comes back one day, that track was amazing.
I started playing D1 when I was 11, during the beta. I'm 20 now, and its nice to see how the game has evolved and expanded, but its also sad to see my favorite game gradually forget their beginning and consistently make bad choices for their players. I am hopeful that Final Shape will be good, but even if its not, Destiny as a whole was a great journey all around and I'm glad I stuck with it.
Those fucking strings choke me up every single time. Dammit this is an incredible track. If this plays during the climax of The Final Shape, I'm going to be in tears. The Journey is almost over, but it's also just beginning.
While most of the Red War was rather mediocre, the flight and return to the Last City, backed by this track, was the absolute standout of the entire campaign, and one of the best moments in Destiny's history.
I started playing d2 when i was 11, now 16 i miss the days when i was in so much awe of how this game could get any better. I remember when youre climbing the mountain and this song starts playing when you see the ruins of the last city... good times
This brings back memories of when I started playing destiny back in 2015, being absolutely clueless on what was going on, but when i learned the story... it stuck with me. What a wild ride it's been for the past 8 years. I can't believe the Final Shape will finish the story next year. I'm excited, but also very sad... Destiny has been a great game. Can't wait for the story to conclude.
My story with this franchise dates back to when I was in about 2nd grade. I remember my cousin playing crucible in both Destiny 1 and Destiny 2. At that time I thought I saw something truly special. Without even knowing what the game was about, everything from the loading screens to the menus inspired this wonder in me that no other game ever had until I played Outer Wilds. Now, finally getting into the game during Season of the Deep, I've come to see this song as a reminder of the DCV and everything I've missed.
D2 came out when I was in eighth grade. I'm now a sophomore in college studying music therapy. This song is my absolute favorite of the Destiny soundtracks.
maybe we'll get it in the Final Shape, it would be fitting to hear it at the figurative end of the light and dark saga. An end to our Journey and a start of a new one outside of the Gardener's and the Winnower's machinations.
I don't think a single moment in D2 rivaled running the city streets with a pack of people...to this. Actually this, not the OST version. This. This is it.
Yes, Ive always loved the action version of Journey but I couldn't find it anywhere, and since the sunsetting of the Red War Campaign there was no where to listen to it, Im glad you uploaded this
Yes, basically the Red War campaign was supposed to take place mainly in the city! But they finally decided not to do it because this destination would no longer be replayable once we finished the campaign, they must have lots of assets that we have never seen, if they had followed the concept art the red war would have been perfect ! What a pity...
im 25... been playing since d1 an this is by far my favorite sound track. This Makes me want to replay the Original D2 campaign but on Legendary difficulty..
The Blueberries of today are not able to know what it was like. what we've lost, what we had to fight for. But with this final fight, this final huzzah into the Traveler, we shall remember who and what we fight for, what we've lost, and exactly how far we've come. from simply stopping the Black Heart, to stopping the black plague of what we deem as a god from making our whole universe wipe the slate clean. let's make our fate ours, Guardians.
I feel like it’d be fitting to play at the end of Lightfall once we bring Neonuma to peace and take out Calus as we’re watching the destruction of Calus’ forces as we stare at Nimbus lovingly as Nimbus holds us in his arms, telling us that “this is our Destiny, too.” Then, we go in for the kiss as Saint and Osiris along with Caital and Zavala share a 4 way kiss.
journey better come back for The Final Shape

Real
@@moge2228 nah, the pyramid theme should be going hard and then journey comes in without any pyramid influence

When Destiny 2 came out I was a junior in high school. Now I am a junior in college listening to this as I study for finals. How times change.

The real Lightfall
The Vanilla should have named "Lightfall" cuz really, we fell under the Cabal

all ends are beginnings as Elsie once told us

Honestly, the Red War campaing is fine 90% of the time. But the first 2 missions and the last ones are some the highlights of the entire game so far

This better play during our final battle/moments
Taking the fight back to the City backed by the same track that played when you were forced to leave it.
Musical storytelling at its finest.

This song is my absolute favorite of the Destiny soundtracks.
One of the very few videogame soundtracks from which I've memorized the lyrics.
Lux et veritas pactum serva.
R.I.P Commander Zavala 😢
D1 is the beginning of the Journey. The Final Shape is the ending of the Journey. It comes full circle
Can't wait for Journey (Pyramid Ver.) in Lightfall (pls bungo)

I have no shame when I say that I played this during an online final exam. VERY belated thank you for the upload.
Please Bungie. Bring this back for Final Shape!

This part at 5:45 screams of a “second wind” during the finale.
I’ll come back to this in a month (ish)
This brings back all my vaulted memories
6:28 for my own personal use
It’s important to note that Journey actually has lyrics In latin, as if the song wasn’t powerful enough
The witness fight NEEDS to have either a final version ofJourney or, the Destiny Black Garden final boss theme ( forgot the name )
J'aimerais tellement retourner en 2017 et re découvrir cette merveille

Best soundtrack to this day. I want this to come up when we fight the Witness
Finally, it's so nice to hear my favorite Destiny piece again
Really shoulda had a similar story beat for lightfall.
Can’t beleive red war will be our one time defending the last city.

eu ficava parado no final da canpanha com os três personagens só pra ficar ouvindo esta música!
Gratidão Destiny 2.
Always hoping that this track gets revisited/remixed for a future expansion.
I miss the original Destiny 2 campaign.
They need to bring back the Red War campaign as well as the other vaulted content at somepoint.
Kind of shame this banger isn't in Final Shape
At least part of the motif was used in Make your own fate
I remember hearing this track as a kinder-guardian. Good times
I like how journey plays in the new Eliksni Quarter
This sure brings me back from The Red War..where I felt powerless and didn't want to die and running away from the Cabal...until I met Bird Lady.

Are we ready guardians? Nobody makes our fate but us.
Already at the beginning of this song, the atmosphere of the Red War is recalled...This is a real masterpiece that the developers have deleted... :(

Simply epic.

Better than Final Shape, Gaul is too weak though, would like a reworked red war.
I remember playing this when I was 9, words can't describe how much I miss the red war
