Denroy Morgan is a Jamaican reggae artist. He was born 1946 in May Pen in Clarendon, but left Jamaica in 1965 at the age of 19 and traveled to the United States to become a musician. He was part of the formation the Black Eagles, a New York City reggae band in the 1970s, before launching a prosperous solo career in the 1980s onwards.
My condolences to the Morgan Heritage family for the transition of our brother Peter (Peetah) Morgan son of the late reggae icon Denroy Morgan who is the lead singer of the band Morgan Heritage rest in power my brother 😢

that's a SOUTHSIDE SONG.. Late night SUMMER JAM IN THE PARK.. Go Jamaica Queens
I agree and I'm from Brooklyn. Jamaica, Queens don't get the credit it deserves in the evolution of hip-hop in NYC. Peace to Grandmaster Vic.
Jamaica Roller Dome,Queens New York this was our anthem!
I remember growing up and riding in the car with one of my aunts and this song came on and hearing "ahhhh that's my jam right there" and seeing my family dance to it at the cookouts and family reunions...the memories....good music and vibes. I miss it so much. 🔥💯💓
I love this song,so many memories,RIH Denroy Morgan,keep on grooving at heaven’s gate❤️❤️
This song brought many happy fun times with friends. Rest In Power Sir ♥️
If you were born in the 1980s, you would hear this jam blasting on the radio stations, at a club and at birthday parties.
Cause there was no way that you would sit down, Denroy made you dance same as it ever was when it came out in 1981 cause my family has my grandmother's house packed when she would be her own DJ
RIp Denroy Morgan I'll do anything for you to let my family continue to dance to this hit.
❤❤❤The Jam..

Virgil was Here
Jazz, I’m from Queens where did he perform in Queens?
@@TonyTone1…couldn’t be 1980….because the song was released in July 1981.
He performed in “Bonds” (Midtown) in November 1981.
I was only 16 y/o and they wouldn’t let me in. I remember that, because it was a week before my bd.
@@logan5326Its absolutely not uncommon for an artist to debut a song before its recorded

Born 89. I remember dancing to this in my pampers in the 90s.
Funny how a good song can take you back to a point in time....every.single.time tou hear it, almost like the very first time.
Summer 1981, roaring through the streets of Brooklyn with their magnificent powerful V8 engines were big shiny American sport and luxury car with no driver shy to let the blocks they drove through know their taste in music was which included a handful of common favorites among them.
Denroy’s most popular song in his entire career made that shortlist of songs was never absent from the music collections of these bold, fearless and above all, very important ambassadors of an important and highly necessary component of life in Brooklyn.
This song, regardless of the the normal chart ascending path most songs eventually must sadly go, was this standard that survived the test of time being played to whole crowds in those times screaming at every car that they heard seeps this classic.
Jammin!!! RIP Denroy.
