Well the way we treat most of the animals that we eat and the cows from which we get our milk is beyond disgraceful. I'm not a vegetarian, an elk lives a good life up to the moment it is shot. And then if you're a hunter like me death is almost instant. There's no reason why pigs and cattle and chickens Etc could not do the same thing. Well it would cost more in the grocery store.

Largely what my dad taught me, except he peeled the potatoes until i learned all the nutrition in the skin! Kept his quite simple. Major is a great addition the the family! We have always had miniature Schnauzers and they are amazingly great companions!! They don't really think they are dogs at all! Being Diabetic I don't eat too many Taters anymore...however I do sub cauliflower for them and while it's missing a bit of that comfort factor, it's still a tasty substitution!
I like to add "Sour Cream with Chives" instead of Cream Cheese, because that might make the taters too stiff. They do make "Sour Cream AND CHIVES' ask for it in your market, because it seriously makes a huge difference !!!! You'll LOVE IT !!!❤❤❤ And ADD GARLIC Too.❤❤❤❤

Kent, Shannon and the well fed stars, I tried your mashed taters today and was extremely pleased. I thought my wife made great mashed taters but this one tops hers by a long shot. The only variation in the recipe was that I used Yukon gold taters since that is what I had in the "root cellar"! The only mistake I made was not cutting the recipe in half. Last week our main ice box/freezer crapped out on us and until the replacement comes in, I have little freezer space to save leftovers. It looks like I will be eating a lot of mashed taters this week! Ole Coot from San Antonio.
Morning Kent, I agree good mashed potatoes can be very comforting and warming on a cold day I put cream milk and cream cheese also sometimes I put a little cilantro and jalapeno pepper for a little spice and of course some bacon. I know not everybody likes jalapeno but my mashed potatoes seem to always be eaten have a day
@@RipleysSanatorium I don't know about BEST dog, since I very rarely meet a dog I don't instantly like. However, every dog I ever had is always my favourite dog. My Rottweiler was my favourite. Then, my Miniature Schnauzer was my favourite. Then, my Labrador was my favourite. Now, my Yorkshire is my favourite.
I love the way you make mashed potatoes. I often leave the skins on. Red skin potatoes do add to the presentation but any potatoes will do. I like to do like my mother used to do which is mixing with butter and milk. You did teach me one thing new and that is to warm up the butter and milk before mixing. I usually am lazy and take the butter and milk directly from the frig, Good point! I learned another great variation while dining at a restaurant in Northern Wisconsin. It was listed on the menu as Garlic Smashed Potatoes. The difference is they are mashed with butter and garlic as twice baked potatoes. Even with no milk they were delish (maybe because I had them with trout). Since then I add garlic salt and onion powder to my mashed potatoes (as I say, I am a lazy cook).

Busts out the drill to mix them taters! Love it
Another great cooking video and another great kent rollins story, I love those stories of the past, on how cowboys handled what they do. Love it
Thanks for watching
When it comes to saying "it is" kent turns into yoda :)
Love your vids cowboy.
Yota man... lol
💥❤️I love your new pup!
Yes same mustache!
You Sir are the “real deal”
LEGIT! I LOVE
MASHED POTATOES!
BESTWISHES💥🔥
Thanks
Gotta love the folks that treat dogs so well. Hello Major you have hit the jackpot.
Potatoes? Yes please. Make it a double.
There's always room for more potatoes. We no longer need more cowbell. Just more taters.
@@HannahMattox Amen 🙏😁. Fried tater cakes for leftovers 😁👍😎
I like to add "Sour Cream with Chives" instead of Cream Cheese, because that might make the taters too stiff.
They do make "Sour Cream AND CHIVES' ask for it in your market, because it seriously makes a huge difference !!!! You'll LOVE IT !!!❤❤❤ And ADD GARLIC Too.❤❤❤❤
Mashed, boiled, stewed, fried, baked, and even turned into a pancake they all taste great I’m a meat and potatoes man personally and I go instant potatoes most of the time for saving money.
Lots of butter, seasonings, and cheese and gravy too, oh man I’m about to go dreaming about fried chicken next and big fluffy biscuits.
What a time for me to not have the rest in front of me now I just made myself hungry.
Save us from our wondering minds cowboy Kent make a KFC family meal deal only made cowboy Kent style for one of your videos sometime.
I’d love to see outshine KFC because I know you can.
Don't save any money buying those boxed potatoes, keep them in your prep. pantry, and get fresh!
@@ant-1382 a good idea if I had a pantry but I live in a motel have to work with what I got, but love me some taters anytime.
Lots of taters yummy.
Thanks for your comment
Fresh cheaper

What a Cinderella story for Major. He’s UA-cam famous now. 😂 Those taters look great!! I always leave my skins on too.
Thanks Lacy
Kent, Shannon and the well fed stars, I tried your mashed taters today and was extremely pleased. I thought my wife made great mashed taters but this one tops hers by a long shot. The only variation in the recipe was that I used Yukon gold taters since that is what I had in the "root cellar"! The only mistake I made was not cutting the recipe in half. Last week our main ice box/freezer crapped out on us and until the replacement comes in, I have little freezer space to save leftovers. It looks like I will be eating a lot of mashed taters this week! Ole Coot from San Antonio.
I always liked those style of dogs scruffy
Morning Kent, I agree good mashed potatoes can be very comforting and warming on a cold day I put cream milk and cream cheese also sometimes I put a little cilantro and jalapeno pepper for a little spice and of course some bacon. I know not everybody likes jalapeno but my mashed potatoes seem to always be eaten have a day
Major looks like a Miniature Schnauzer. I had one, and he lived to be 16. Great dog he was!
He is good pup for sure
That's what I thought. Love my schnauzer, the best dog, I'm bias I suppose. Lol.
Love little Sweet Major!!! So happy he has a wonderful happy home!!!
You had me at Mashed taters!! YUM!! YUM!
Amen!!!
