Have you tried to remove the side buckles on the Bumbo by hand? I would be interested in how you performed this task? Concept is great but the execution of the buckles are pretty much impossible to get out by hand. I also found adjusting the straps on the Bumbo not sufficient. Returning the Bumbo and still looking for chair.
angelmdevilm I found that the buckles are much easier to push out from inside the seat instead of trying to pry them out from the outside of the seat. I should have demonstrated this- I’m sorry I didn’t!
When strapped on to a chair, is it true that it is harder for the ingenuity to sit closer to the table since the side part is too high to get snug under the table?
Hi! So yes, now that they’re strapped in and in use the ingenuity doesn’t have enough clearance to fit under the table. My baby is currently only 9 months old so we still use the tray instead of bringing him up to the table for meal time so I’m not sure if it would be an issue that it the booster doesn’t slide under the table, while in use. But I can see how it could pose a problem. The bumbo definitely doesn’t have that issue.
hi xanadu thanks. good side by side. have 2 Q - seems like ingenuity has longer straps. for example to attach to other places like a boat. is that right? - it does seems like the ingenuity has more room for chubby and/or bigger kids. is that right? until what age do you think you'll use it? thanks
The one that you think would work best for your family! I personally use both. The ingenuity we have at home and the bumbo we use at grandmas house. I found both pretty easy to operate but if there is one notable difference is that if you plan to feed your child in it, the raised edges on the ingenuity tray does contain food messes a little better :)
I’m sorry you’re having that problem! You’re the second person to mention that. I know my sound quality isn’t great, using novice equipment here, but most people have been able to hear it without a problem. Wish I could help! Really not sure why you can’t hear it well
Hmm, I’m sorry you’re having that problem! I know the sound quality isn’t great, I don’t have all the cool equipment, just using what I had on hand to try and make this comparison video for you guys but many were able to hear it just fine. Really not sure why you weren’t able to.
Xanadu Levier It really is low but i could hear as it was really quiet where i was. Thanks for the info. I just purchased the bumbo floor seat, don’t know what i was thinking, i am returning it for the multi seat as i will get more use out of it
Danielle this may be true. I’m not a pediatrician and admittedly don’t know too much about whether or not these seats are “good” for the babies and their physical development. This video is simply intended to compare and contrast the features and usability of these two booster seats, which are intended to be used for babies 6 months and up and are able to sit on their own, unassisted :)
Not true. A physical therapist recommend both just as long as baby is ready for it. Just use it for its purpose - to feed your child & not just a "seat" to sit in all day.
Great video! Very clear, unbiased, and easy to watch :) never say sorry for your child needing attention - you are doing great!
Very good review... I choose the ingenuity one ... it was delivery yesterday and my baby loved!!
New mom here! This is definitely super helpful. Thank you for the detailed review.
Congrats on becoming a mama! So glad you found it helpful :)
I needed this.. I just bought the ingenuity 2 like 3minutes ago.. but than I got doubtful again.. so thank you
I go with the Ingenuity because my girl is bigger than other babies and it maxes can use for 50lbs baby. Bumbo is only 35lbs max.
Which seat is more comfortable? Can i use these for 5 months old baby?
Hi Xanadu! Thanks for the review. Which one do you think would be better for a smaller 6 month old baby? Which one is more supportive? Thanks!
Hi Tracy! The ingenuity offered better side support for a baby that’s just learning to sit up on their own :)

have 2 Q

- it does seems like the ingenuity has more room for chubby and/or bigger kids. is that right?
until what age do you think you'll use it?
thanks
Great questions! I’ll measure the straps and seat depth and get back to you soon!
Someone please make an adult size version of this so I can set up in bed at night to watch movies and my butt won’t keep sliding down!!!
So what do you recommend?

bumbos are terrible for babies legs and hips

older versions of Bumbos are. However, the one reviewed in this video (Bumbo Multi seat) is not. It is safe for babies hips.
