I sat on the next table to Bobby Womack in a hotel in Shepherds Bush in London, we chatted for over 30 mins over breakfast. Approximately November 2012. He was so polite and respectful. He was genuinely interested in me and why I was there, it was the morning after a charity gala raising money for my daughter’s condition….Rett syndrome. The funniest thing is, he struck up a conversation with me first as he thought I was famous! (We were the only 2 people in the restaurant wearing dark shades and a hat!) We shook hands and introduced ourselves, when he said he was Bobby Womack, I couldn’t believe it! I told him how much I admired his music and he was grateful but more interested in my story and my life. A true gentleman RIP Mr Womack ❤
@@donarthiazi2443Bobby was notoriously down to earth, that story about him is not hard to believe at all. Back in the 80s and 90s he'd regularly hang out at the bar after performing, buy people drinks and BS for awhile. Back when he was heavy on the powder lol.

Great your dad was one of the racist cops that made black men's lives impossible if not for the grace of God. CONGRADULATIONS! Tell him there is a judgment waiting for evil cops in hell. But my dad was a good yea keep telling yourself that son. You're pops probably busted up more innocent black youths than he would care to mention you. I'm sure you have no problem with that though, for people like you as soon as any cop feels like arresting anyone the 'perp' is already guilty and no matter how much the cop harasses them or beats them blue before they are proven guilty, the cop was still 'just doing his job' right? There is no visual of 110th street. or Park Ave. I've lived in Harlem since 2007. Worked as a Delivery guy for over 6 years. I've delivered from 86 st East and West - all the way to the 140's. I looked at this video to see if I can recognize the locations. The first Scene has to be the West side highway on the 80's. One thing is clear the scenes are on West Harlem, Not East Harlem. All filmed above 110 street. They appear to be in the 120's and Above. Central Park ends on 110 street. You go from 5th Ave , which is the end point of the East Side westwards across Malcolm X ( Also Known as Lenox ) , Adam Clayton Powell BLV, and Frederick Douglas BLv, and End up On Manhattan AVe- which the starting point of the West side. None of it was shown in the so-called across 110 street.
@@themagus5906 It WAS shot on location. All this video is from the FDR to 110th exit and then uptown past 110th on the west side of Manhattan. Most of those buildings have since been torn down, renovated, or in some cases still look as they did in 1972.
Mr. Bobby Womack called this one right to the Heart of how it was back in the Day. Whether it was in New York or on the Streets of Chicago. I have lived in Both of these Great Cities.
I grew up listening to black American soul music in London England 🇬🇧 during the 70's. I'm of Indian parents and they could never understood the lyrics ....... 😯😲

You did a better job, I think, with marrying Womack's album version to the film intro. Everything just fit perfectly. The original film score was definitely lacking in arrangement compared to the album. One of my 10 favorite films that I would love to see re-made with today's resources (although the director's work with the experimental camera produced some great close-up shots for the time). Big thumbs up!
Nice man, thanks for the tip. I actually first heard this in American Gangster, when I saw who sang it I looked it up here & that's how I found this. I love watching any film about 1970s New York & this looks like a trip.
