Thanks for taking the time to read every soulbind. I literally just started playing WoW for the first time 5 days ago and everything is so overwhelming atm. I appreciate this breakdown. Thank you.
Happy to help, sinphoenix, and welcome! ^^ It's always so awesome to hear new folks starting to try WoW out. I've been playing for a pretty long time which is why I wanted to start this channel in the first place, to help other folks with what information is out there to make it hopefully a little easier to understand.
Thank You for dedicated rogue content! Currently leaning towards Necrolord or Venthyr for my Outlaw rogue as i don't like the Aesthetics of the other two. As always i look forward to the next video!
Hi there, Some Frost. ^^ I plan on having the rogue spec guides out this week, just finishing up these covenant ones and the onto all the rogue goodies.
Loved this video, I also main a rogue and Vent just looks the most interesting and fun covenant for my rogue! Thanks for making this video, got all the info I need now :D
@@haghendowdy4750 xD Again for single target it's really REALLY close, the only difference is in dungeonslice at the moment but one tuning pass could change that anyhow. I'm still having a hard time finding which covenant I like the playstyle of and feel of most, even after all this time on the beta.
I decided to play Rogue in SL (i changed to monk mid-way in Legion) and ended up here. I really like the type of videos and ALL the info you bring here, really amazing! And that transmog is really awesome. Those bandages you got there are from a shirt or else?
Hiya, WhiteWolf. ^^ Welcome! I'm glad you're enjoying the channel so far and appreciate the kind words. The sleeves are actually part of the chest armor to this set, actually. The closest thing similar to it would be the Wound Dressing if you wanted just a shirt that was kinda similar, but for this particular Transmog it's part of the Fierce Gladiator set from Legion. This is the Horde-Specific color version though, the Alliance one is blue and gold. It's the same appearance as the Tier 21, Antorus raid set.
I'd rather hear your opinion on which soulbind you think is best in certain situations etc. Or (for people who don't have beta access) how certain soulbind passives like Dauntless Duelist actually work (for example: Does it last infintely if the target doesn't die? Does it reset once you drop combat?) I mean... we can already look up all the soulbind trees on wowhead or other sites. There is no need for you to read out all of them without additional context.
I appreciate the feedback and critique of the video, my friend. ^^ That's definitely something I could add/work on for the remaining two covenant overviews I'm working on. I guess to me, a lot of them are somewhat self-explanatory by the way their effects work since I'm used to seeing them, so I might've miss the mark as far as elaborating on them. You'd be surprised how many people I know that don't bother looking things up on wowhead/icyveins/etc or just prefer to listen to what an ability does rather than reading it all, or understand it easier just from having it verbally communicated, though I'll try to explain a bit more of how they work when the ability seems a bit ambiguous. I did try to mention a couple little facts about a few of the more unusual sounding abilities, but I'll keep your criticism in mind for these two upcoming videos. Edit: As a part I forgot to mention, I also did that as a more broad overview because I plan on talking about rogue specific covenant recommendations in its own video, the main goal of this style of video is just to have a large amount of the information about a covenant in one, audio form. That's kinda part of why I didn't give too many opinions of specific covenant soulbinds, since for certain classes/specs they might be better or worse. As for your Dauntless Duelist questions- It will stay on the target as long as it's in combat and hasn't died, so if if the mob resets then it drops the debuff, but if you vanish and your tank has aggro then it'll keep the debuff forever/until you kill it. Sorry if the video wasn't quite as pertinent for you as I'd hoped it to be. >
@@ZeraTheRedRogue You're welcome. Granted, I'm probably one of the more invested players, checking wowhead/icy-veins (or the class discords) on a regular basis. I generally prefer videos over written guides as well, but sometimes get frustrated with content creators, because they just read out stuff like patch notes, tool tips etc. I already know about. Sadly, more specific information (stuff like Dauntless Duelist) are rarely covered and some creators even seem to be reluctant to give their own opinions.
Entirely understood, being that I keep up with as much news as I can on the game I also am on Wowhead often enough that I got a premium account just so I could avoid the dozens of ads. xD For rogue-centric stuff I am much more open about what I feel with each soulbind/covenant/conduit etc and how it works in our favor, but with a more broad audience I'm more apprehensive of recommending specific soulbind traits/characters since they can be wildly different in value. For instance, Thrillseeker(Nadjia's trait) could be super amazing for say, assassination rogue, but it's really not good for fury warrior (not sure on their stat priority at the moment, but just for an example). Or Theotar's Wasteland Propriety MIGHT be better than gaining a potency conduit for some specs, possibly, but that isn't the case for others. Again, I truly appreciate your candid response and feedback though, as it helps me see what others might that don't comment or bring it to my attention. I'll be more mindful of that in the coming videos.
Yeah I believe you're right that one of the daggers looks the same, I'd have to double check but ironically I think it's the 'caster' dagger which is weird. xD Agreed, big haste buffs are cool for assassination I guess but that's about it.
I feel like in beta flagellation buffed mastery which would be slightly better for subtlety and assassination, but not necessarily so much for outlaw. A crit buff or maybe even an agility buff would have been better, not that haste is bad, just that it’s doubled down a little too much with Nadja also providing a haste buff.
would it be possible to give us a preview of the map? so we not beta players can see the general look of the new zones. after all we will see the new zones for quite a while when we decide on a faction.
Heya Nico. ^^ I definitely could start including map views of the zones, I guess I didn't think of it and didn't want to spoil TOO much of the new content before you all see it. You'll be questing through each of the 4 zones very thoroughly while leveling to 60 and they'll even give you your covenant ability/class covenant ability too so you can test it out as well before deciding while leveling.
@@ZeraTheRedRogue that would be cool a to see more of the map. you dont need to spoil the quest just so we can get a general feel of the new zones and maybe more of the covernant hubs than this ist the new in game handy app, this is the resarch table etc.. For example I dont have any idea how the zone of the Night Fae would exatly look like exept of a crystalsong forest map on heroin
im assuming that you mainly play outlaw, do you ever do any PVP as outlaw ? always been curious. i hate having to have multiple gears and weapons to change spec just to do some BG and actually be effective. thanks
I actually plan on trying to do some PvP as a mini/spoof sort of series at some point on the channel specifically as outlaw just to see how it goes. xD I rarely touch PvP is the thing.
@@ZeraTheRedRogue that’s fair enough, I wanted to play rogue and my mate has me playing sub and I find it so awkward, do you think outlaw is the better option ? It looks fun, I only really PVP on occasion for quests etc mind so it’s not a huge thing
Personally I'd recommend trying assassinaiton. The best part about assassination for PvP is that both outlaw and assassination use haste/vers in raid/PvE (and I believe PvP too? Not 100% sure on that one) so your gear carries over easily, just need a couple daggers. ^^ You also have the most annoying bleeds/dots to harass healers and enemies with for good uptime.
@@ZeraTheRedRogue I did play assassination in BFA, that was my first intro to the class, season 4 low mythic keys, I didn’t mind it at all and yeah it was simple compared to Sub, i know Sin is in a weak spot atm, is outlaw much harder ? I just love the look of outlaw with guns and cutlass :)
For PvP assassination is actually doing pretty solid. I'd definitely recommend Outlaw for PvE though, I just figured if you wanted to have a PvP spec then you could give Assassination a shot since it's doing pretty decent there. ^^
How do we unlock the forge of bonds I can’t use it but I’m doing campaign quests as we speak and it shows I have some unlocked in renown’s what’s going on
If you've already joined the Venthyr and done the introduction with Renethal, one of the early quests should be to soulbind with Nadjia the Mistblade. Once you've done that, you should be able to just walk back up to the Forge and right click it to use it. (It's on the top floor in Sinfall, but to the left if I remember correctly. Same room that Renethal is standing in)
xD I just don't have any blue shirts or purple shirts so when I get to Night Fae and Kyrian I don't want people to think there was some connection. Besides as I'm sure you can tell I'm pretty open with the community about my thoughts/work process. lol
Next is night fae or kyrian? Kyrian looks good but I think i will go night fae because i like power XD. But real question here is what is going to be YOUR covenant and why?
Working on Night Fae now. ^^ I was holding out on Kyrian in case there is some last minute nerf to pelagos XD. I'm honestly still a bit up in the air, even after all this testing. I'm leaning towards Night Fae though, it has a pretty well rounded group of soulbind characters and a lot of nice perks. Also Ardenweald is the best zone for leather farming so legendary crafting and mat farming ^^
In terms of raw DPS sims, nah, they're all REALLY close for pure single target (Like within 2%) but in AoE haste just doesn't scale very well (The Flagellation effect gives a haste buff, and thrillseeker is haste too)
@@ZeraTheRedRogue Is this due to the Kyrian covenant ability or one of their soulbinds? because I haaaate the kyrian cov ability, the opposite of fun, and I feel like their powerful soulbind will be nerfed
It's entirely due to Pelagos, he's just very potent due to getting 2 stat buffs and 2 potency conduits. I wouldn't be surprised if this changes in the future, but I'm personally not bothering with Kyrian as I don't really care for the ability/style either and once/if they nerf Pelagos again it won't be BIS anyhow. xD
@@ZeraTheRedRogue cool thanks for the insight! I am gonna go Venthyr because I personally hate the feeling of being outside of shadowdance as sub rogue and waiting with weak backstabs for it to come off cooldown, I figure the flagellation haste buff should help reduce that :)
It's a tough call, really. xD I'm pretty sure I'm going Night Fae because Sepsis is a very un-intrusive ability to the rotation, unlike Echoing Reprimand, Bone Spike, and even kinda Flagellation. Flagellation is pretty easy to deal with so it's not that bad, but ER and BS are both somewhat cumbersome or just feel forced some times. Night Fae also has a pretty well rounded group of soulbinds, and Ardenweald has some of the better leather farming locations. xD I don't really like any of the transmog sets from any covenant, so I'm going for the quality of life perks as my reasoning.
@@ZeraTheRedRogue yea, i originally planned to go night fae but since they removed the stealth part on the spell im not so sure anymore. thanks for the answer
Yeah I think they just couldn't balance around the extra vanish for some of the stealth legendaries, and it was very cumbersome to use in world content or solo content in general. the 'new' version is fine for my desires, as I want the least intrusive option available really. And you're quite welcome, my friend. Any time. ^^
