As a person who has been trying to grow her channel the past 5 years I have to say that your tips are very helpful! I think it's important for us small creators to not lose our spark and remember why we started our channels. It is a way to be creative and connect with like minded people. Help them, inspire them, entertain them. Even though my community is small I consider my viewers my friends and I always get so happy to see familiar faces in my comment section. Growing a channel is not easy but if your goal is not just numbers and money you will be unstoppable ❤
Great video, getting subs is really easy when you already got some knowledge, but when you are starting UA-cam it can be really frustrating. I wanted to delete my main channel which now has over 150k subs because I was struggling so much at the start (Luckily I found out that using a bit of famester could give me a little push in terms of subs and views. After that I was getting so much organic audience, and my channel just exploded).
I’ve watched tons of “growing on UA-cam vids” and they all talk about audience - butI have no idea who that may be for me! However this is the first time I’ve heard it phrased as “brands you’d like to work with”- this gives me a much more concrete view of things. Thanks~ 🐈⬛
I really spent time to make this vid so I’m very happy to see your positive comment 🐈⬛💫 I hope the questions + worksheet help you guide your channel :)
This is one of the best videos for small creators who just started, and your software recommendations for rough cuts and thumbnail testing have been added to my list. Thank you so much for the clear breakdown.
This is such a useful video. I am planning on growing my channel aswell and I can also say the random searches I make that make my videos go out there and help me gain subscribers is crazy. Thank you Mako.

Thank you for sharing your authentic experience and tips! I’ve gained 506 subscribers in a month, which is a crazy growth to me. But I feel like getting monetized is still a hard thing to achieve. I’ve only met 68% of criteria about subscribers and public watch hours at the moment. Anyways, good luck with your UA-cam journey and I’m looking forward to seeing more of your content in the future:)
I love your perspective about niches and how you simplify storytelling. Also, the way you integrated the Nord ad made me chuckle. I would be interested in a UA-cam payment video, mainly because your channel has videos on many different topics and I'm curious how UA-cam pays a channel like that.
I started my channel fuelled by my passion for technology and with each video I feel more encouraged by the growth in the audience/subscribers! I post once a month as that enables me to post the quality of video that I’m happy with…given that the algo rewards highly engaged with content 😊

Hi Mako san! This video was very informative and helpful. I have been following you the past couple months and really enjoying your content. As someone who is from Japan and lives in Japan I love seeing your content blowing up. 応援してます!!
