A performance monohull with outriggers ....intriguing....but give me the Balance versa helm ..performance with quality.. if your main preference is performance. Otherwise I'm looking at the time your spending at anchor...and 2 engines vs 1 ......So many other Catamarans I'd be entertaining....Enjoy your journey....curious on your choice...

Re 6:56, i'd install a camera probably on the mast tobe able to view port side area for maneuvering.
I have a rearview camera in my SUV for backing up view, although I still lije looking back the old fashioned way.
Most likely we will have a mast mounted camera along with one underneath to observe the anchor.
Re 2:45 you compared a Trimaran as more stable than a catamaran in capsizing. However, I think your example of using a small racer catamaran was unfair since your purchase ideas/ideals are about performance cruisers. Both Tri and Bi Cats are genrally stable and rarely ever capsize when considering the cruser and performance cruisers.
I also think the side-to-side rocking of trimarans are felt way more than catamarans in rough waters, comparable sizes by many video observations.
Fair point. However, the intent of the clip was to show a catamaran pitch poling, not comparing a small versus large or performance versus cruiser. Apologies for any confusion.
Love you guys! Why didn't you end up going with his one? Seems like you loved it. We are VERY interested in purchasing one, but have not been able to actually see/sail one in person in the US - very frustrating. Did notice that the ventilation could be better.
Hi Angela! Thank you for watching us and commenting! Ventilation was a big factor for not choosing the Neel 51. We also had concerns with build quality and customer service. Hopefully Neel has fixed that, because we still love the design. Looks like Neel will be at the Miami boat show, but only with a 43'. Good luck in your search!
If I had the money my boat would be the 51!
We really wanted it to be our boat, but we couldn't get past some of the initial build issues. Hopefully down the road those issues will get fixed. Or maybe even a competitor will enter the market.

Thank you! Poor ventilation was also a concern for us. We also didn’t get the warm customer service vibe either.

Im not a hundred percent sure as i dont speak polish but due to the Political shinanigens going on with 🇺🇦 and the economic situation they have had to slow down their plans..
They also lost their winter cover in a storm fortunately after they did most of the glass work. 🤞🏼👍🏼
Love the Neel 51' I would buy it
It is a nice boat and it’s the first one we really fell in love with. Hopefully they’ve fixed some of initial issues. However, the poor ventilation is something we couldn’t get past.

If Neel adjusted the design to provide better ventilation and fixed the quality control issues, then maybe.

JL H I have heard concerns about the build quality.
@@RogerWilco1 There were two boats with issues the 45 I no about and what caused the issues with it was a moron of a owner who tried to tow a motorboat with it and sailed it in 30 knots of wind without reefing. As for the issues with the 51 I don't know.
I do know 3 of my friends own Neel 51,s and they love them and apart from usual new boat teething issues have no issues with them. Put it this way I've owned two Oysters a Riva and a Discovery 55 and I am happily placing my order for a Neel 51 2nd week of September.
