Just stumbled on this, very interesting thank you. I find some cats look a bit ugly but this one looks beautiful. I'd better start from the beginning.
@@FaidapiuSY that's the thing with sailboats, usually if they look beautiful to the eye with nice lines they sail beautifully as well!
i like the catamaran Faidapiu.
i think the audio was good. The background noise wasn't too noticeable. Audio of the boat did appear to be sounding normal. Thanks, from the United States
Both videos of the build were actually stunning. It's incredible to see the boat take shape and everything coming together.
Any reason the video is only 480p? It's very hard to make out any details, or read the diagrams you put up (electrical and such).
Thank you and it is indeed stunning to see the evolution from raw material to a floating boat! The low res is simply to make the upload easier, sorry. For details you can check out the FB page where we uploaded pictures regularly on the different details. Have a nice day!
Lovely boat but that radar post right in the way of the steps and emergency steering and if u ever fish off the back it will definitely get in the way
Thank you! The video might give a wrong perspective. The pole is actually great as a support for exiting the boat, climbing the step or when we pull fish up. And it also became the flag post. So in the end it's a nice addition and we aren't sad not to have found a standard radar mount on the spreaders, but it would have saved work! The 'emergency' steering is the actual steering: the tillers.
Beautiful looking design! What Schionning design is she?
We think so too! It's the biggest one in the Arrow series: the Arrow 1500 (it's 14.95m long)
@@FaidapiuSY Does that equal 49.05 feet? At first I was going to build either the Arrow 1500 or the G-Force 1500 but then decided to get a Cyber 48 which is a Tim Mumby design after watching Sailing Life on Jupiter videos. The time to build a Schionning takes a lot more time than an aluminum Cyber 48 and that's one of the biggest reasons that I decided to change my mind. It would be supper cool if Schionning came out with an aluminum version. I have spoken to them about it. What are the major differences between the Arrow and the G-Force. I believe that the G-Force has more carbon and is a bit more rounded but besides that, what would be the differences? I guess you can make the Arrow with carbon. Also, which boat would win in a race?
@@robertlaird6746 Yep 49 feet! The difference between the G-Force and the Arrow is probably best explained by Schionning but yes for sure there are no curves in the Arrow (it's a panel construction) and that's why build hours are less. I wouldn't bet that an alumunium boat takes less hours to build, quite on the contrary actually. Looking forward to follow the build!
Any way to use a mic to improve the audio quality? Lots of background noise when you speak.
Kia Ora, I really enjoyed these first two vids of you building your Schionning cat. I kept a 46ft one in Queensland for 8 years and spent 5 months every winter cruising the Great Barrier Reef. They are a superb high performance cruiser. Good luck with yours!
Thank you! We hope to be cruising the Great Barrier Reef in a few years time.
