What Australian really think of America
What do Australians think of America?
I walked around Melbourne, Australia interviewing Australians and asking them what they thought of America. Got some great reactions.

If I had to boil each culture down to one thing that encompasses the difference in thinking between the two cultures I'd say Americans are very big on "I know my rights" and Aussies on being given "a fair go". Its actually a bit sad watching it happen. We are australia, not america. We are not the same by a long stretch. And our social issues and histories etc are very different. People need to remember what being an australian is about... which is about the fair go, and looking out for each other, sticking together.. being able to take the mickey of each other regardless of background and going to bat and sticking up for each other when an outsider does it. I've been to America a couple of times, from the West Coast to the East Coast and in between, I genuinely met the loveliest, friendliest people, their hospitality was amazing, the only thing that was a minus is they think they're the only country that exists. I even had this guy thinking kangaroos were even jumping in our big cities in Australia. I feel they're being divided by their politics which is sad to hear, I can't understand why they don't have free hospitals like we do classed as Public Hospitals and the wages are so low. I wish for them to get free health care, it would be a terrible worry if one of their loved ones got ill.

To be fair, I live in Brisbane, and I can often watch roos from my apartment balcony n the early mornings. I live in the not quite inner suburbs, and there’s a creek next to my apartment complex with some trees and a bit of grass. They hop along the creek up to where I am, from a bush reserve two streets away.
That being said, I know that the northern suburbs of Brisbane do tend to have a lot of greenery (a yard without a couple of mature trees is highly unusual), there’s a lot of small bits of bush dotted throughout the suburbs, plus some larger nature reserves. It’s a really green city, especially on the Northside. So we get quite a bit of wildlife. Roos, snakes, birds (especially cockatoos and galahs and bush turkeys as well as some eagles and hawks) koalas (my old house one suburb over had a koala that lived in a big gum tree in our backyard), plenty of possums, lizards, the lot really.
But I also live in a part of the city that’s older and more established, and we don’t have any of those awful new subdivisions with boxy little houses with no yards and no trees. They tend to be further out from the city, in newer suburbs. And they’re bloody awful! I lived in one once, and never again. There’s just no life or character to those places, and they’re full of bogans and derros.

The American interviewer apparently lives in Melbourne, or somewhere near it. Queensland is over a thousand miles away from Victoria. I don't think he has the time and means to interview passersby in the other states. He speaks for himself, nor does he have the obligation to find passersby favorable to a certain view or another, he is not part of a program that seeks to obtain the opinion of Australians in every single state, or to elicit reactions favorable to some views and not others. He simply interviewed people in the area he is located in.

He simply interviewed in a random fashion (as far as I can tell) people on the street. He doesn't need anyone's help in parsing, explaining or placing in context (for whom?), the content of his video. As far as one can tell, he is not the political organ of any specific party, political movement, or view, etc nor does he represent himself as such. So why would he need to place context to the content of his video? He did not set out as far as you or I can know, to "set anyone straight" on how people should view the US. If he were to make a similar video "Asking Japanese what they really think of America" why would he need to place it in context.
