    Dear Dr Peyman,
I am Dr Faraidoon, and I am wondering how to tune my basic santoor to be on Bayat Maqam or Persian Maqam.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

In Farsim what are the two quarter tone notes called? (Sp,eti,es santurni uses four )8 on 11 noye santurs( called? Thanks.
Also in Iran proper are santurs still relativly low coast (maybe outside of Teheran)? Thanks Tes I live in Europe and I assume with import tarrifs guying in Europe would be more costly, Yed? No? Maybe? Thanks

That would interest me as well. I too am based in Europe. I suspect that apart from any import tariffs, obtaining instruments directly from Iran could pose legal hurdles as there are several international trading restrictions in effect. When I was looking for a setar, I could not devise a way to have it delivered here (online shops were defunct), and I resorted to ordering a setar built in the Netherlands, albeit by an Iranian luthier. I just had a quick look at their web page, but unfortunately, there are no santurs on offer at the moment.
